I spent the best times of my life in this club and Electric Avenue. I'd love to go back in a time machine and get to dance the night away again. The best!!
Went to both as well, completely classic in all ways...... I'm out of State now always wished when I was back in Orlando I would catch a visage reunion, saw front 242, Social D, Ramones, many others, Evan Dando Lemonheads lol I really miss those times!
The year was 1989. We used to leave the Naval base in our uniforms since we went allowed to wear civilian clothes yet. We'd hide our civ's in our cars, get a hotel, then change and on to the club. Lot's of good times and concerts there. Book of Love, Front 242, Moev, Xymox, The Fixx, probably more I've forgotten.
This was my spot!!! I wasn't "goth" but still loved going to this place. Every time "Information society" come on we went nuts! LOL! Great memories!! So glad this vid is up on TH-cam!
Ya Ronnie was a good friend of mine. His father worked at Disney and truly supported Ronnie's creative side and I had always wished I had parents like his. Nice to see that someone else remembers him too.
Ronnie was one of my best friends in high school. When we weren't at Visage, we were skateboarding. He was an amazing artist also. He passed away just after highschool.
Love it! Remember getting to request tunes from DJ Paul as no one else was there, until the "Spit" crowd discovered and migrated over. Thank you for posting!
Industrial Disco?!? hahaha, Omg, they are way off! I was a regular there for years, every Friday night, woohoo, loved it! I was one of them always in black. I don't look anything now like I did back then, as I'm sure no one does now. :D I seen Gene love Jezebel, Flesh for Lulu, Johnny Rotten, Nitzer Ebb, all them concerts there. Was the greatest club in Orlando! Sure miss those days!
i startred thursday nights at electric ave thurs was punk night my band played there more than a few times we opened up for fear to name a few any i have alot of great memories of orlando back then
I started going to Electric Avenue that was downtown on Amelia and then they moved and became Visage. It was my home EVERY Friday night! The best time ever here....dressed in all black as well! oh the memories! I worked for them for a few years too. The owners were awesome!
Haha I remember that club Electric Avenue. Visage was my place though, my favorite hang out. I'm looking to see if I'm in any of these videos, because I was there faithfully every Friday night! :D
MaryAnn White Haha, I"m sure we did. Your name sounds very familiar to me. Do you remember Brenden? Also can't remember the dj's name but he was gorgeous with long black hair. I think all the girls had a secret crush on him. :D
MaryAnn White Hey I made a facebook page for fans of Visage nightclub. Finding old friends of mine from Visage already, maybe you could join the page. It's called, Visage Nightclub Fans. :)
I love that this video exists, saw some great shows (Concrete Blonde especially comes to mind) at Visage , and of course went a few time on Fridays when I could manage it.
I and one of my best friends were the last guests to ever be in Visage. We both cried uncontrollably about what was being lost. I LIVED at this place for 5 or 6 years. Fridays was all I could think about in 11th and 12th grade...it was "16 and up" although many even younger were allowed entry. We all drank alchohol before going in and often could get drinks from those that were 21. Clubs in Orlando were SO lax when it came to alchohol and drugs back then. Those were the days!
they're having a reunion soon at IBar. Wednesday and Saturday were my night. Best drink specials! Also went EA before it became Visage. Saw alot great bands before they became main stream at that place.
Yes! Wed. and Sat.! I loved Electric Avenue as well. Later years we would check out I bar, but never felt the same.... out of State now.... when I return on occasion always wish I will catch a reunion..... miss the people, miss the music.
The night I met my future wife we danced together at Visage 37 years ago. She has been gone for a year and a half. I try not to live in the past but wow, what I’d give to be there with her living that moment again.
lol, this was probably the start of what ended with laws demanding clubs close at 3 am in 1997, because kids going out and having a good time is against good white christian morals. most cities were jealous of Orlando's revitalized downtown, all the abandoned storefronts were turned into clubs or business that catered to the nightlife, and the Republicans had to stop all that.
So good! Please don't ever take this vid down, 12 bonus point if you spot me in opening 10seconds (shoulda been 7 Seconds for extra cred) thanks again!
I donno if I agree? I grew up there in the early 1990s till mid 1990s and there seeemed to be not as much going on but everything was quite good. Now, when I visited in Jan, there's nothing. Really, I think it was at it's height in the late 1990s...
So many great memories and so much fun. There has never been a more fun club. The time, the music, the crowd, the energy. Lightning in a bottle
I spent the best times of my life in this club and Electric Avenue. I'd love to go back in a time machine and get to dance the night away again. The best!!
I was used to go to Electric Ave and Visage as well. Loved those clubs. I saw Ministry at Electric Avenue, which was pretty wild.

I never saw any concerts at Visage but caught Love and Rockets and Ministry at EA. I was in ET A and Nuke school in the navy then.
This was my spot!!! I wasn't "goth" but still loved going to this place. Every time "Information society" come on we went nuts! LOL! Great memories!! So glad this vid is up on TH-cam!

HOLY HELL!! This is a flashback of epic proportions!! I use to spend almost every weekend at this club!! WOW!! Thanks for posting this...WOW!!!
Ronnie had a lot of friends. Just met one of them last week. Probably the coolest guy at my high school. I really miss him.
Friday nights at Visage, Saturday nights at Empire Tampa and Sunday nights at Milk Bar in Jacksonville. I miss my misspent youth.
+MasterSplinters000 Misspent? Hush your mouth.
I grew up in that place from 86-90 Saw a TON of concerts there!

It really was special. I went often in its latter years in the 90’s. Orlando was such a cool city back then.

"why do they wear black?" this is so cute.
To be different... like everyone else in the club.
I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers there twice in the late 1980s.
Visage has an impressive concert legacy.
i was there too. i wish there was still a place like that, but for adults now.
GREAT SHOWS AT THIS CLUB ...SAVED ME FROM BOREDOM IN O TOWN FLORIDA
Kids going out and having a good time. Wow, what a story. LOL
