  • An Oklahoma news anchor suffered a stroke during a live newscast. Anchor Julie Chin says she suddenly lost vision in one eye. Then her arm went numb and her speech became garbled. She says her symptoms came out of nowhere. Her colleagues recognized something was wrong and called 911. The newscaster says tests at the hospital showed she suffered the early stages of a stroke. Chin says "There are still lots of questions, and lots to follow up on, but the bottom line is I should be just fine."

I actually believe she saved her OWN life. She trusted her body and her intuition and let everyone know that something wasn't right. Someone else, might have easily brushed it off for the sake of their job.

My dad suffered a stroke the night before and went to work. His coworkers thought he was drunk :/ they let him drive himself to a clinic. We lost my dad for 6 hours not knowing where he was. We found him and I had to take him to the hospital. It'll be a year since this happened and he's able to walk again and have some mobility on his left side. But it was super disappointing that no one knew what was wrong. The signs of a stroke was obvious but people thought he was drunk..

My cousin was a 6th grade school teacher who suffered a stroke as he was sitting in his classroom grading papers. When he didn’t pick his kids up from Gym class his wife in the classroom next to his went to check on him. He suffered a minor stroke. His aunt who is my grandmother suffered a major one in her mid 50s. Drs were sure it would kill her but it didn’t. Thru therapy she learned to walk again but never regained use of her right arm or her voice.
When I gave her eulogy in 1996(20yrs after her first stole) I talked about what an inspiration she was. I also said you could still get “chewed out” by her even thou she could only make 2 sounds. I always could figure out what she wanted bc I was 5 when the big one it, was oldest grandchild and had a very special bond with her
So glad the news anchor is going to be ok.
