What a nice find this morning.....your inaugural visit to your season's plot. A big job but I can feel the love coming off you.....I'll enjoy watching the growing unfold. I'm in south central British Columbia (Canada zone 5) and am watching the dripping off the south facing eaves. Alive with all the hope, dreams and potential for this season's fruits and flowers..
Oh how lovely - thank you for your comment. Funnily enough, I was filming some snippets this morning and I was also watching some ice thawing and dripping from my plot neighbours' various structures. It's definitely exciting to think about the coming season - if a bit daunting! I can't wait to get started though - yes, all that potential!!
I've seen a few more people on the site now that we're into Feb - it was super quiet over Christmas though, which was lovely... Thank you for watching :)
Wow, how lucky to get a plot in such great order. I hope you enjoy your plot as much as I have for many years. Love this time of year, the anticipation of a new season never dissappoints
I feel very lucky indeed! I very much hope great things are to come... - trying to manage my expectations a bit for the first year, but I am very excited. Thank you for watching :)
Thank you John - I'm super excited! Hoping I don't just turn a lovely neat plot into a crazy mess - although, I do want to use a more permaculture approach and have wildlife-friendly bits... so maybe I'll just embrace an intentional crazy mess!
What an amazing plot! I can’t wait to see how it develops. I’ve dabbled in veg growing in the past, but now we have an enormous garden and plan to take the vegetable growing much more seriously. I look forward to more posts!
I had to dig this out after the live. I don’t know what that cheeky Danny was talking about 😂 enjoyed seeing what your plot was like when you first took it on!
Haha! Thank you Dora. I know, he's a mystery to us all, isn't he. See how I tried to be all calm and zen at the beginning - but the crazy soon came out 🤣🤣
What a calm and informative stroll around your new allotment! Such a beautiful winter morning to start. I’m looking forward to updates and future videos. 😊
Thank you - I think so too - it was a no brainer with the home garden because I was starting from scratch on grass, but this feels like a whole different ball game - still, I'm determined! No way I want to be digging all of that!!
Hey! Just found your channel. Welcome to the wonderful world of the youtube community! Good luck with your channel! Take care. Danny at the Grapevine Garden Channel 🌱
Thank you Danny - how nice to be welcomed to the community too! Thank you for recommending my channel to @Ali Rusty Gardener's Place - much appreciated.
Congratulations on getting your plot brillant once the plot life bites you bever look back it has me iv three plots. All the best 👍 and look girwsrdvyo future up dated snd vids again brillant take care John new subscriber.
Thank you John. I really appreciate your comment and encouragement. Three plots!!! Although even very early in the journey I can see how that could happen...
You're probably right Tony, but can't hurt... I recently found out that the previous plot custodian was also doing no dig - so even more reason not to bother! Still, it'll keep the weeds at bay and the soil warmish while I figure out what I want to put in all the beds. Thank you for watching. I do feel very lucky to have inherited such a nice plot.
Just come across your channel, catching up on my you tube cloggers. I have liked and subscribed, I think you certainly be added to my watch as you make them videos.
What a lovely haven of beauty and serenity! I am so pleased you are doing this! I've just been reading some Freya Mathews and thinking how much I miss our old garden and how essential these connections with the soil are.
Hi, I just jumped back from Xmas 2023 and what a stunning plot and starting place for your channel. I'm really looking forward to catching up with your journey. Take care, Jane
Oh I totally meant someone else... awkward... 😂 No - of course it is you - my sole supplier of rabbit poop with added veg peelings. I love the aesthetic of allotments - completely random, mend and make do - but I also hope to beautify my plot with pollinating flowers and massive dahlias. Plans plans plans...
Glad to have found your Chanel and plot 33, have subscribed. Wonder why the previous owner gave it up considering it’s in such great shape, did they give it up or had they fallen out with the site management, who due to there comment re keeping keeping the grass paths mowed, seem fairly strict. I can see why they offered it to you, giving you and your parents homes being so close. Wish you well with it and look forward to watching your journey.
Thank you for watching Derek. As I understand it, the previous custodian of the plot has moved away from the immediate area and has since been given a plot on a site closer to his home. I think the site management should be ok... I've heard different stories from different people though! After the comment about the grass paths, he did say that once the plot is mine I'm free to do what I please and woodchip the paths if I want. They look so nice though! - but a pain to walk on in the wet and they're going to take some upkeep... watch this space. Thank you for your well wishes.
Glad you posted public for these vlogs 😀 great watching x
Thank you!! 😊

Hello 👋🏻 Leicester girl myself 😊 that plot is massive. Brilliant 👏🏻 I hope to get on one day.
I know - a little bit overwhelming! But imagine if it was this big and absolutely drowning in weeds too - I feel very lucky! Thank you for watching 🤗

Oh yes, you should definitely get growing - if you need seed let me know, I have loads (like a ridiculous amount!)
Great video

Fantastic scope there. Good luck with it all.
Thank you! It is very exciting - if a little daunting!

Ah thank you - it was a beautiful morning - since then it has got progressively cloudier and soggier! But still nice and peaceful.
What a lovely plot. Hope you have a successful season, no dig is well worth the effort to set up.
Thank you - I think so too - it was a no brainer with the home garden because I was starting from scratch on grass, but this feels like a whole different ball game - still, I'm determined! No way I want to be digging all of that!!

You won’t need cardboard with beds that clean. Awesome plot👍

Aw thank you Richard. I was rather bingeing your lovely podcast before xmas so perhaps I was channelling some Still Waters vibes...

That was a COLD first day on the plot, for sure! It looks so pristine in the frost doesn't it!
A colleague with a rabbit!! It me! Love the video, so beautiful. How is it that every allotment in the UK looks almost exactly the same?!
Oh I totally meant someone else... awkward... 😂 No - of course it is you - my sole supplier of rabbit poop with added veg peelings.
