    Great video! Some of the tips are going to be very useful. I'm changing my bumper and passenger fender soon. I have the same truck except with a Duramax. I've recently had to do a lot of rust repair on mine. Canadian winters are hard on bodies. Taking your time is the best way to prevent breaking everything. I just subscribed!

      MudRFunR Thanks for the kind words and subscribing. Yes indeed vehicles rust real fast here in Alberta. My friend is still driving the truck in this video however, he bought it new and has driven it daily since.

      @@CarswithNash I'm in Ontario. I bought mine with 300 000 km on it. It now has 450 000 km. Running strong, so now I'm fixing the body.

    The most funny part of the video is you snowplowing with your car and bare chest!

    Hopefully u can respond, but I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 2500 sle 6.0 would that grille and bumper fit mines? From my understanding and from what I’ve read is that 2000-06 these things are compatible

      @CarswithNash  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ruben Gonzalez That I’m not completely sure on, I’ve replaced the front ends on plenty but have always ordered new parts for the year I was working on, so I haven’t paid a lot of attention to interchange, ‘00-‘06 should be the same but you never know if they made some little change in how it mounts or something. You definitely have to pay attention to what options you have, they have ones with and without fog light holes and also HD and none HD. One thing I will often do in this situation is look up the part for both ends of the year range and see if the part numbers match.

      Matt's Garage yea I noticed that, I have the 2500 non HD . Where can I check for matching numbers

      Ruben Gonzalez A friendly dealer parts guy is your best bet, but any website that carries the part should work as long as your comparing between the same brand of parts. I was actually trying to figure it out before I replied but I’m pressed for time and would hate to advise you wrong.

    This isn’t a crash or accident it was just a friendly love tap I do it all the time it’s awesome when you bumper tap a s10 at 25 because they get launched foreword

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! Well I honestly wish it had been a bit lighter "tap", did a fair bit of damage to my car as well.

      Matt's Garage my bumper is in way worse condition I literally watched it so I could remove it to weld a cross member in and a reciever so I can have a reciever mount for my winch in the front and I cut a hole in the bumper for it and to get the bumper off the mounts were bent so I wrapped a chain around it and yanked it off with a tractor then I straightened it best I could with a crescent wrench and slapped it back on and I’m still running it

    Can you get bumper bracket bolts from orielys?

  • @mostlymoparih5682
    @mostlymoparih5682 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you scuff up the bumper before you started spraying?

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MostlymoparIH Yes, it was raw plastic & the manufacturer’s recommendations say to “wash” it with soapy water, I used a grey scotch pad for that step & scuffed it up nicely, then some plastic prep & tack off before spraying. Like I said it wasn’t intended as a how to, I didn’t wanna run my friend’s booth longer then needed so that will have to wait till I get spraying on my mom’s PT Cruiser.

      Lesson learned and paid four4. Hey maybe the next time ya go out four4 I mean front wheeling ya should take another buddy with another vehicle with ya.
      Safety first. Nice.

      Dang no shirt again. Turn up that heat.

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MostlymoparIH I have been trying to find people to go with but it’s hard to coordinate, not everyone wants to be involved in a video or wait for us to run ahead to get shots etc & also the fact I have to be choosy about where I can go with the car. I do have a list of guys that would still be there in a jam though. In warm weather it’s no big deal, snow wheeling is always risky imo. We are waiting till mud season now & I plan to install a rear winch before our next outing.

      All good stuff. Hey even only getting shots from the car would be good and with a snow buddy you have backup. TFS

    Do you know size of bumper bracket bolts

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Imortal Wizard Do you mean the corner braces? Pretty sure they are 18mm.

    • @LBadventure24
      @LBadventure24 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt's Garage to the main two in front that go to chrome piece

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Imortal Wizard I’m pretty sure 21mm, I’m not 100%, GM bumpers are normally 15,18, 21 on mounting points.
