    4.8 quarts to be precise…thats the drain and fill capacity. Anything less or more will cause hard shifting, LV expands quite a bit…no check plug and its an internal trans filter with no service access.

    Thank you for this video. My Fusion started shifting a little funny lately so I've been researching some reasons as to why it is doing it. The wrench icon lit up on the dashboard and when I used my scan tool it showed a code of P0756 which is related to one of the transmission shift solenoids. Interestingly enough, the next time I started the car the wrench light didn't turn on and when I rescanned it the scanner didn't show any codes. Upon doing a little more research I found that codes related to shift solenoids can also be caused by dirty/old fluid or low fluid levels.
    The car was given to me so to my knowledge the fluid has never been changed. I'm hoping that a drain and refill will remedy the issue.

    4:16 That fill plug you mention was designed into the Generation II 6F35 on the 2013-2020 Ford Fusion's. Those models do not have a transmission dipstick, you need to remove the drivers side wheel to check the level and fill. An easier way that some people use to fill that generation tranny is to use a long neck funnel and fill through the vent cap below the battery.

    I just got a 2012 FF and it just rolled over 74,000 Im thinking about taking it somewhere to have this done, but kind of afraid to , lol I wonder if I should leave it , (If its not broke done fix it ) It doesnt show on the car fax that its been done , the fluid is a little dirty, not terrible, How long did ittake you to do this? I called a couple shops here in FL where I live and they want like $300 to do it !!!! (did I see a MI plate in your vid)

      It took me probably an hour to do it in the driveway. 74k miles is getting close to that cut off of “don’t change it or it’ll cause problems” line in my opinion. Id say anything after 100k-120k I wouldn’t touch. I did do a friends 2012 Fusion at 100k because he insisted and his fluid wasn’t in bad shape, it was a dirty brown color. But that’s a roll of the dice.
      $300 isn’t too bad if they hook it up to the machine that replaces a majority if not all of the fluid but for a simple drain and fill like this that is way overpriced. And no MI plates lol I am pretty close though in Indiana.

    Man I’ve been having the weirdest problem after adding trans fluid. It’s showing like 1/4 of the level in the fill range, and if I add any more it comes bubbling back out of the relief vent… the car won’t take any more fluid and isn’t even halfway full…
    You mentioned you overfilled it, did this ever happen to you??

    • @NWIPerformance
      @NWIPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I never had a bubbling issue. I didn’t have any issues. Did you run the trans through all selections a few times?

    • @markbeshay
      @markbeshay ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NWIPerformance yes I did, and drove it after. Still shows very low fluid level and won’t take any more fluid; it just spits out anything I put in it😭 been like this for a month now and still can’t figure out why.

    • @NWIPerformance
      @NWIPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you drained the old fluid out did you put the same amount back in? The only thing I’m finding is if the trans is overfilled it will come out of vent.

      @@NWIPerformance I’ll be completely honest, I used old quart containers with measurements on the side to see how much comes out so I can put in the same amount, I tried best I could. But I think that maybe part of if not the issue, funnily enough it actually wouldn’t take the same amount that came out. It started pooping it back out at some point as I was adding fluid which I measured beforehand…
      I really appreciate your reply man, thank you!

    How much was the total cost for turboing your car?

    • @NWIPerformance
      @NWIPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mustang I’m assuming. It was around $9k for everything. Tune, fuel system, turbo kit, tuner, few odds and ends.

    What transmission fluid filter do I need to buy for my 2012 Ford Fusion?

    • @NWIPerformance
      @NWIPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rockauto shows the part number as FT206. Every thing I’ve read online suggest it was a pain to do the filter on these cars. Not sure why so I didn’t even attempt it yet lol.

      @@NWIPerformance ...And you most likely won't attempt replacing the transmission filter on the 6F35...You would have to remove the tranny and split the case, it's an internal filter.

    Is the ford fusion SE a CTV transmission?

    • @NWIPerformance
      @NWIPerformance  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. This one had the 6F35 in it. I believe the only Fusions to have a CVT are the hybrid models.

      No only the hybrids have e-cvt. They’re not even cvt really, just planetary gears.
