    Srixon Soft Feel has been my favourite ball for a long time. I swing at 110 and see very little difference, if any, against a super premium ball, even with my short game. Love them.

    I like the Srixon Soft Feel Yellow and the Wilson Duo Soft yellow in the spring and summer because the yellow pops when I am looking for my ball. I switch to white in the fall because the yellow gets lots in the leaves. The soft feel ball works for me with my lower swing speed, ~90mph.

    This video really clarifies and validates the blurb on sleeves of the Srixon balls. I’ve played with this ball and it’s suited where my game has been until recently. My long game is finally showing the impact of fitting and practice, lots of practice, so I’m using a higher end Srixon ball because I need it.
    Thanks for a very useful demo for a ton of golfers.

    Great test, cool to see! A cool test would be finding some old balls on the course and see how aged balls perform since most golfers i play with get their golf balls from the course 😂 Love you guys, cheers!

    Always looking for an edge that might apply to us ( me ) older players who are passed ( almost passed ) their prime ball speed days, and living on limited income that want to find that ball that helps us out. Thanks guys, always good to watch what is going on with golf tech.

    For most of us these are great balls. And love the feel. I've used these and the Wilson Duo Optix in the matte finish when there are leaves on the ground. Only downside to those can be that they seem to pick up mud more easily. These are worth a try.

    I really love this ball. I'm a newer player (27 handicap) and play with a variety of clubs with different levels of technology, and the Soft Feel has proven to be the most reliable ball I've used. It has excellent distance and roll out, the cover is "grippy" enough to catch the grooves in your wedges and it rolls lightly on the greens. Not to mention the way they sound and feel when hit purely, they have such a satisfying click to them with irons and a loud crack when hit hard with a wood or driver. The sensation at impact is barely felt, when you hit them clean they send almost no vibration back into the club and you barely feel the strike. For the price they're the best option available from Srixon, and maybe even the best overall at the $20/dzn price range.

  • @npro7431

    I love this channel... I love this kind of ball review even more.
    I like playing a colored golf ball (like the Cut Orange at the moment) but just play more for budget. I lose golf balls... period.. so I want to play something I enjoy for as long as I can keep it and not hate myself when I lose 4 in a 9 hole round.
    lots of love to you guys. Thanks for doing this. I would be interesting if you had a lower swing speed review of them because Matt is a beast and the lower speed might show even less value added with a $2.00 price jump per ball.

  • @jkb20109
    @jkb20109 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Been playing the Maxfli tour in matte green for about 50 rounds now. The color is easier for me to follow through the air. The ball itself is amazing. I can spin it pretty well from about 7 iron up and Dick's sporting goods has them 2 dz for $50 US frequently. At that price that ball is a steal. Love the ball tests guys. Keep them coming!

  • @DavidSmith-lo7wf
    @DavidSmith-lo7wf 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I generally play 2 piece balls (for cost vs loss reasons). I haven't purchased these, but did find one and played a few holes with it. I was surprised at how pleased I was with it. I always thought I had too much compression for it too, but as Matt showed, there really isn't that much of a distance tradeoff. I have also recently determined that I do really prefer a softer feel on the putter after trying the xv and finding it a bit too "clicky"

  • @toshimon6276
    @toshimon6276 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great honest review, I play the yellow version, great ball for my game and price. I can easily identify my ball in the fairway while the other guys spend time figuring out who's Pro V1 is who's. If I hit one in that is likely OB, I'll take a quick look and if I don't find it I drop and take a stroke, the same guys will look for what seems like hours because they don't want to loose their $4 golf ball.

    I am playing the Vice Pro Soft in bright red matte. Now with the new models they stopped the matte finish due to performance issues. I noticed a significant difference between the matte and glossy finish. But only on the greens. The matte ball is running a lot slower than the glossy ball. I already noticed it on my training carpet at home but recently when I played I had to switch to a glossy Vice Pro and I my putts were much longer than with the matte balls.

    I’ve played the standard Q-Star for over a year now, as they can be had in a double-dozen at Dunham’s Sports for $32. Soft Feels are also offered in a double-dozen for under $30. For a 15+ handicapper with mid-to-low club head speed that loses a few balls from time to time, they’re a great value

    More balls need to be reviewed in this price range for us more value minded golfers! Walmart in the US and Amazon sells the AD333 and I find they check up a touch better than the Srixon SoftFeel. I'd love to see a review on the Vice Tour ball and Mizuno RB 566 as these keep popping up in my research as being great value 2-piece balls but with no real numbers behind the recommendations. There are only reviews of high end "tour" balls but the reality is there are a lot of people trying to find the cheapest ball that fits their game.

    Little off topic but curious as to what you expect to see in club head speed drop off going through the set??? Driver to wedges

    Really interesting review for me. I got a few of these about 4 weeks ago just prior to playing a fairly difficult course in Johannesburg, South Africa. I decided to use them instead of my normal Srixon Z-Star XV or Bridgestone BXS. I am a pretty high spin, high launch player with moderate tempo and a driver clubhead speed of around 106 - 110mph.
    I shot -2 on the day. Hit one of the longest drives I have this entire year of 355m (380 yards) and hit a 6 iron into an almost 600y par 5. Irons were going around half a club longer with a really nice high flight. I was surprised a few times by the run out I was getting with my short irons into greens but now I understand exactly why that was happening.
    Being such a low compression ball I was worried about losing significant distance on the driver due to over compression but that certainly wasn't the case. Equally surprised to see such low spin numbers for the half wedge shots but it does explain why I was running out a little.
    Thanks

      110mph club head speed and 380 yard drives don't match up lol

      And if y’all are Irish you cannot forget the White in betweeners? You have to ask his bias for Rangers or Celtic
      Matt has the Irishman rugged Celtic so he will for sure hit the Green ones higher but Orange ones further??? LOL

      You need to head over to the Marbula1 channel if that’s what you came for.

    I felt this way about the ChromeSoft line of balls from Callaway. It felt like I was hitting a ball made out of waffles.

    I've played with the matt golf balls and the only gripe I would have is that, for some reason, they seem to pick up more mud when they land. Not great when you can't clean the ball. Maybe it's just my perception though...maybe I should stop hitting them in the swamp! They are definitely easier to spot though...unless it's Autumn and those lovely red, orange and yellow leaves are everywhere.

    Can't wait for the AD333 test, lots of balls in that market but can any really pull you away from a AD333 for all round performance, B B12? TM Soft Response?

    MyGolfSpy says matt (not Mattie) performance is lower in wet conditions with wedges.
