Excellent reporting and found the Mike Stopp interview really illuminating, he has such a great sensibility. Prioritizing working WITH the new admin and emphasizing education, while challenging, could pay off big. I really hope to see indigenous leaders in roles in the new admin where they can effect good policy to help their communities, which will help the country at large!

I live in the Dakotas. My NA Friends, some of you didn't do enough to research who Trump is and as a result you will be hurt by him in the coming years. My best friend was Lakota. She taught me much. Today I will say, my heart goes out to you all. You have endured so much pain and suffering over decades. You will be in my heart and my prayers in the coming days ahead.

What’s behind lobbyist attempts to block casinos on Indigenous land?
Trump made known his opposition to the bill in a tweet on May 8, calling it “a special interest casino Bill” and urged Republicans to back out, leading the House to temporarily delay the vote. The president has a long history of challenging tribes’ right to build and operate casinos on reservations.

would it be possible, when the speakers are introducing themselves in their language, instead of overlaying the voice in english, to make english subtitles so their spoken word is front and center ?

It was good to get the perspective of indigenous tribes on what is ahead under Trump's administration...
I truly pray that the indigenous peoples continue to unify and help one another...
What is it about the Republicans that they think that they can ignore the voices of native peoples and stand righteous before God?

with a indigenous person running in office they can better protect our land and earth. Helping give a better understanding to the rest of the world on why we need to protect this world. I want more native power in our government. Ill vote for more indigenous say and sway in our world every time.
