That episode was my first time seeing Joe Pera Talks With You. I've been hooked since.
Who does it?

This interview is so slow paced and genuine about things i can relate to that sometimes I'll come back and watch it just to relax, it's like watching your grandma talk to her neighbor. I feel like I'm half napping on the porch and it could go on for hours and i wouldn't mind
This is so beautiful. Both the interviewer and interviewee. Wholesome goodness contributing to making the world a better place.
This dude is so wholesome lol
bruhhh I know I love him 😍

@@arpy4428 Not exactly out of character though, just in another one! I'm not sure there is actually any footage of the real Joe Pera and i prefer it that way, reminds me of Andy Kaufman.
Such genuine and subtle humor!
I couldn't stop laughing and falling asleep at the same time. Amazing.
same here.
"I think we all could use a short walk." I like that and the deeper meaning there is, as shown throughout comments on any TH-cam video of Joe, people are so wanting of the pure, calming, genuine, simple vibes, slower pace, and appreciating the mundane. The Joe videos or episodes are really relaxing!
His humor is so simple yet amazing.
This is the best damn interview i've ever seen. Joe is an absolute master.
Joe Pera makes the most beautiful and heartwarming humor i have ever seen. So Glad he's on Colbert's show!!!!
The comfort Stephen brings to the interview is excellent. Such a joy to watch this occur.
"It's really funny and it's really beautiful." You are correct. We need a lot more Joe Peras.
You can tell how much Stephen adores and respects Joe's act, such a great interview.
This is my introduction to Joe Pera. This man is a genius. Full Stop.
He's the flip-side to Andy Kaufman.
This man is VERY interesting.
His stuff is very good, his stand up is incredible
I love the way Stephen played to this guy, that was some funny shit (to me anyway), great job
Really refreshing kind of humor.
Joe Pera plays his character so well. He broke for a second there. He slips in little jokes amongst his wholesome content and makes me giggle all the time. I don't think he is exactly like this in real life.
right? he cant be like this all the time. hes like an andy kaufmann always sticking to an alter ego
I just really love him so much. He has such calm yet nervous energy at the same time and it comforts me.
Absolutely intriguing. Never heard of this guy, will definitely be checking him out. Stephen and him are like two different types of wholesome all-Americana, it's really fascinating to watch them together.
"Oh let's grab a beer next month"
"I thought it was just called walking"
This was a great introduction.
Man I'm struggling here, can somebody please help me out and explain this
@@beckybodaschweri9215 he's a comedian with a show on adult swim
@@beckybodaschweri9215 They're just humorous things, Rebecca. His take on letting someone down about hanging out. His thoughts on "walking meditation." Things don't have to be aggressive and/or in your face to be humorous.
"Yes, thats where the food is" - Joe Pera.
This man has put me to sleep so many times, especially when I couldn't do it myself. Thank you Mr. Pera.
In a world constantly competing and pushing the bar….Joe just quietly enjoys his life. He achieves the contented peace we all forget we’re actually chasing. Watching his show is like being tucked into bed and told it’s gonna be ok. Colbert recognizes and respects it. And so do I
One of the strongest gimmicks in the history of modern comedy.
*best
Definitely Andy Kaufman, peewee Herman level
Tim and Eric do a good job with always staying in character too
Same with Nathan Fielder, two of my favorites
@@zachhenry3151 Nathan for sure is right there too. I feel like Andy Kaufman was the king
I love the amount of support joe is receiving! Warms my heart to see somebody creating content that isn’t poison like most stuff out there. The man is so pure and genuine! ❤️
And even if it's an act, like some people here are claiming, that character is so wholesome and relaxing to listen to that he's worth supporting anyway.
I can't tell if this is a character or he's really acting like himself
Me too.
first of all, if this is a character, props to him! keeping it up for this long is hard.
secondly, replying here in a case a fan of his informs us whether this is a bit or not. lol
@@macandcheese__ He almost broke character at one point, but he did a fabulous job on the show. I think this was his first night show appearance, so there definitely must've been a mix of reality and his character in there.
He's from New York, but I don't know if any fans know how much of the character is real or based on him. His backstory changes, but maybe the first said he was from near Buffalo.
I am so happy that he was on the show and that there was an extended interview.
@@littlemiss_76 looks yeah, personality not at all.
Im not sure either, but I like him. And if Stephen Colbert has him on and likes him, then hes worth looking into.
Some people who don’t know much about Joe Pera would title this as “the most awkward interview ever” but I’m glad everyone seems to know how genuine that guy is
Walking on to Baba O'Riley is such a great reference.
This is so nice to watch while high i feel like his voice is giving me a hug ☺️
Like molasses but not all sticky and brown
🙄🤦♂️🤡
Imagine Joe Pera having a conversation with Morgan Freeman
Or inside a Warm cabin on a rainy day chatting with Sam Elliot.
That would be the longest conversation you've ever heard in your life😂
@@mechabutYT The universe couldn't handle that much harmony. It would be the polar opposite of splitting an atom lol
I would immediately subscribe!!
Did you catch the conversation between Joe Pera and Morgan Freeman? There were no survivors.
That "Let's grab a beer next month" line killed me. 😂
I have been watching Joe Pera's old relaxing footage every night for the past 2 months. I couldn't sleep without it. It comes me down, and the world is ok for 22mins.
I love how even Colbert is kind of more subtle here. He doesn't laugh much, he talks to Pera about grocery shopping like it's the "big next thing" and devotes his attention to the subject. Very nice interview.
Yeah, Stephen basically changes his approach to more match Joe's energy. Made it much more interesting. I can't imagine someone like Fallon interviewing Joe and it coming off well at all.
We all end up as old folks eventually... he just decided to cut to the chase early.
Lol...like this comment
This guy's routine should absolutely kill at an Old Folks Home....I mean, figuratively.
Joe Pera and Quentin Tarantino need to do a movie together...I suspect it will be about 4 hours long and the audience will get some great ZZZZZs.
And then, Joe should do some Red Bull commercials.
He's just practicing for when he gets old, so he knows what to do when he gets there.
The world needs more people like Joe Pera.
HadesWTF come to Wisconsin
Following the success of Joe, there will be people acting like him.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love this man with my whole heart.
Nothing funnier than a talkshow host genuinely wedged, trying to string along a conversation with a guest very content and at ease in quiet while also aware their earnest and still energy is what makes them so gravitating.
I'm so glad he's such a genuine person. I always thought it was just a character for the show, but he's just like this all the time and I love it.
Man he totally brought the vibe down to his level! He's an energy magnet 😆 Colbert totally matched Pera's energy 😆
I needed to see this. This man speaks to the neurodiverse without realizing it. Colbert handled the interview so well.
I’m not sure about the “without realizing it” part, but otherwise very much agreed.
"neurodiverse" i like that
I wondered, too if he's on the spectrum. The way he handles himself & describe routines reminds me of some of my clients. If he's playing a 'part', than he's an excellent actor. I love his show.
I felt so seen by Colbert and simultaneously so disregarded by everyone I actually know the second he said "are you game for this?" He definitely played to this character and handled the percentage of it that's real _so_ well.
@@caroline4540 its an act - he has a video from 2012 before the character was as developed and his movements and facial expressions and speed are totally different, and especially the costumes & haircut
Stephen was so gentle with him.
I adore Joe Pera! His show was so nice and calming. Sad that it got canceled, but thankful it had a season three. Maybe he will come back with another special to wrap up the storyline.
It’s so amazing how comedy has made a 180 and now it’s wholesome and family friendly.
