It is hard because supplement companies do not always put what they say they do in their products and their isnt any oversight (not asking for any now either, 3rd party testing/badges sometimes help companies who want to be held to a standard), I figure if foods with these vitamins and minerals aid in our health than supplementing them in absence of those foods (esp foods that are out of season) seems good. They are a part of supporting our health.

I ate an apple today after a depressive/dissociative episode and it was my first apple in like 3-4 days. 2 hours later it was like my brain and personality clicked back into place. Apples are a decent source of quercetin and other antioxidants. We really shouldn't underestimate what healthy food can do. Emotional support matters, and taking to people does too, but the apple was one of the few things I did differently today + scaling back my caffeine from the day before.

    • @teresamexico309

The problem with food we buy, is that we get it but we do not know for sure what is inside "that apple" or any other produce. If the soil in which that veg/fruit was grown is deficient in some nutrients (including minerals) then we most probably get deficient food.
Organic food should be better than industrial farming food but growing your own food (or part of it) in an organic and sustainable way is well worth it.

    • @janyenyo
      @janyenyo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@teresamexico309 I think you can tell in how the apple tastes and it's texture. Like leafy green veggies, how does it look, is it a healthy looking plant?? The amazing thing about living plants is they do extract from the soil what it needs and if those nutrients are NOT there, then the plant would not look very good. This is basic, because if you have a house plant it is only as good as the substrate, and you feed it what it needs if the leaves turn yellow for example. The trouble with finding organic food is it is expensive and the fear is there that the plants aren't nutrient dense because of soil depletion and it adds so much anxiety. Just LOOK at the plant, taste the veggie, or the fruit, you can tell....

      @@janyenyo : you’re right to a point.
none of the fruit in this country has taste. i’ll explain.
an apple can look good but it doesn’t have any taste.
the leaves and the fruit can look good but still no taste.
long story made short. my neighbor in italy back during 911 have me an apple. what an apple !!!
it was full of sunshine and taste. like God made it himself on that very day. it gave off an aroma like perfume on a woman passing by.
this apple was grown on a mountain in central italy where the air is clear, the water is pure, and the soil is rich. that apple, that apple, i really miss that apple.
not to spoil this mood but this fruit is completely tasteless here. even if it come from peru and other countries in the southern hemisphere. who knows what they spray it with and they pick it way too early and the environment is a big factor.
another quick story about strawberries….my cousin Daniela is still talking about them after five years, of eating them in italy.
she couldn’t believe what strawberries actually tasted like.
we can speculate and discuss and wonder, and try to predict how good the fruit is for you, but its all a farse.
take a trip to italy, go to the mountains, and TASTE THE FRUIT !
you’ll be talking about it the rest of your life. when you read or hear people talking about how they eat fruit, you’ll think the same thing my cousin and i think.
      absolutely zero comparison.
no justice. we are being ripped off here. yes the fruit here looks pretty, but this is a horrible imitation of what fruit should taste like.
      vitamin c in this apple….not a chance.
i need to edit this reply.
told my mom about this comment on this apple giovanni gave me and she said that’s a good apple but it’s nothing. my mom is saying imagine when we had a room full of apples to eat for the winter and the aroma throughout the house.
looks like you will have to visit italy.
let me know how you like the fruit 🍎

Lean over the basin and turn your head till it's sideways and tilted a little bit so that water runs down into the nose. If it's very blocked you can let the water run back out then then you might use a finger to help loosen snot and let it drip out.
Repeat and repeat until water can run in through the higher up nostril and run out though the lower nostril. Then you've actually cleared it.
When it first actually gets clean the water stings and actually tingles right into your skull over your ears and ..in other words, you'll KNOW it when the dirt get unclogged and the sinus is opened up again. It will then be able to drain and takeaway sinus problem. Repeat several times daily and you can be free of sinus issues such as headaches or sinus pain. Then you might do it occasionally when nose feels stuffy.

I haven't been sick in at least 25 years (sinus irritation during times of outside irritants like pollen aside, but never sinus infections). At 65, growing a portion of our own food and preserving it, raising free range chickens for eggs, breathing fresh mountain air and getting a lot of sunshine, I'd put my immune system up against most 25 year olds today who live on junk food and sit around looking at a screen all day instead of being outdoors. I always love to see a doctor talk about boosting the immune system. I had a doctor who pooh-pooh'd having a strong immune system and pushed vaccines religiously. He even called me pigheaded when I said I would take the shingles vaccine under advisement and research it (I wasn't going to take it anyway, but I was humoring him). So, I fired him. Thanks!

I have a lot to improve on, such as losing all this body fat, lessening my screen time by a lot, etc. I do a lot of active, natural, lifestyle habits and other actions for my lifestyle. I exercise regularly through weight lifting and walking, I research and take a lot of vitamins and other natural supplements, I take cold showers, have and use a red light therapy device etc. I just got my hormones tested (testosterone, estrogen, prolactin, cortisol etc) and will improve the numbers once I get the results. Honestly I try to share a natural response to covid 1-9, whenever I can. I preach vitamin D3, high dose vitamin C, quality zinc, quercetin, and more recently NAC. When I share this, most people don’t say anything or an occasional “just get the vaccine!” 🤦🏽🤷🏽‍♂️. These same people don’t really take their health in their own hands and listen to their doctor as if they’re infallible.

I have been taking NAC and Quercetin for quite awhile and I am extremely happy with the results.
I just want to make sure that I can take NAC at the same time as Quercetin, as well as, the other Vitamins you suggested for cold and flu. Or, should they be taken separately?
So glad that I found your channel. Firing off to share. Thx!

The best way is to write out the daily schedule of when to take each supplement. With that being said everyone's busy so better to take the supplements when you have time rather than miss.

@@jacquiet6040 NAC should be taken on an empty stomach or you won’t absorb it well. My ND advised me to take it first thing in the morning and then another one around 3-hours after lunch, waiting another 30 minutes before having an afternoon snack. Sometimes in the morning after taking it I do experience just a couple minutes of mild nausea but it always passes quickly without interfering with my morning routine.

I appreciate seeing so many naturally occurring nutritive herbs and plants on your list. We are very fortunate to have an Herbalist nearby from whom we get Astragalus, Echinacea and mushroom blends (including the Maitake) for immune health. This is true health care.
