Carol is good people. The family is good people. It makes sense.
Carol has shown him pure love, not love for his body, wealth or anything other than wishing a dying man lives as long as he desires without the stresses and dramas of life,she is taking a lot of the burden of death away from the family and that takes a lot of love, companionship love for the man.
The last update by OP’s daughter tugged at my heartstrings. I lost my dad unexpectedly just after my 10th birthday. This was a lovely tribute to her father. 💕

Real or not this guy is the GOAT of a parent and really don't blame him for not fighting on a scorched earth level and just trying to enjoy his last days.
Fighting his 304 wife would have taken far more energy and time than living his life to its fullest as he did. He loss his life but he still came out on top. He received so much genuine, unselfish love from so many people that it had to keep him warm and satisfied at night. That 304 has the loss of her ap and the realization that he was only using her to keep her mind company day and nigh. She’s also got the loss of a good man, the loss of her social status and friendships, the loss of a best friend, and the loss of family to wrap around herself and keep her cold at night. And yet she still got more than she deserved.

Not to mention that she probably had some stupid reason behind it, like social status or just her ego being hurt that he wouldn't fight for her. Cheaters truly often think that what they've done is not that bad.
The moment a spouse offers their genitals to another person, they should be dead to the cheated spouse in every way. I'm currently talking to a girl and I told her, based on the previous two relationships that I got cheated on, the moment I get cheated on, the person is dead to me. They no longer exist, nor do the feelings for them.

The fact he was still with her and all it took was suspecting and finding out she cheated for him to completely cut her off emotionally - he should have split a LONG time ago, not settled. WoW was not expecting to get nailed that hard from one of these story's. All I can say is I hope I can be half the man this guy was even the way he went out. I have myself a loving wife and a daughter. We where on the older side when we got my child (my great niece) so I know my time will be limited and hope just to see grandchildren as my daughter is still very young. I am already teaching her as much as I can as my wife is pouring all her love and compassion into her hoping she will turn in to a wonderful women in case we pass. I have also thought about making videos for this very reason to give her guidance after I go. Listening to this story just solidifies that thought. My only wish is she finds a wonderful husband that can take care of her in our stead. Now do not get me wrong I don't plan on croaking anytime soon but I have always lived my life cautiously and making sure the people around me are happy. This man even if the story was fake has given me a lot to ponder and the least I can thank him for is that.

He was a good man, I’ve been building my assets for my unborn daughter and my wife. I’m a Type 1 diabetic and I take good care of it but there is other risks I have to consider. This part of the story of cancer and family makes me think of what should I do. His influence has effected me
What an interesting bit of fiction. This was fiction right? If it's being passed on as true I need to call BS. I enjoyed hearing it though, even if it was a depressing subject and theme.
Don't get me wrong, I know that terrible things happen to people and there are plenty of selfish and hurtful people in the world. I don't question that the cheating scenario happens many times around the world each day. That isn't hard to believe...It's the level of detail, the near detective / mystery novel level of detail that makes it suspect. When we tell an untruth we tend to add a bunch of unnecessary detail.
Then there is the part about them being so calm and composed as their life is falling apart. They learn their dying and of the betrayal by the person they loved so deadly. Not just calm, but so calm they not say anything, continue to share a bed, and all the while plot their revenge.. see where I'm going with how unreal this is? Anyone who's had their heart broken before wishes they could react this calmly and calculated to get back at the person who broke them. The story clearly says the person was "broken" by what was happening...on top of that they're dying!.... Yet despite those huge factors they're able to calmly craft an intricate plan and execute this perfect revenge on not just on the wife, but also the man she was cheating with. Not just confrontation but by taking his company? He still had so much swagger the cheating wife's best friend threw herself at him for a lil "companionship" even though he's close on his death bed, goddamn what a G! That's the kind of dude that does not look back when an explosion happens behind them. They just keep walking in slow motion.
Its a bit much, but hell yeah, if this person was real and managed to accomplish all this and this story is true? Well, he was likely a psychopath or sociopath I can never remember which is which. At the least he was a narcissist....human beings with with healthy emotions can't behave this robotically. It's a fun thing to imagine how you say the perfect thing to the bad guy at just the right time but for most of us we don't think of the perfect thing until we're down the road and we think "That's what I should have said!" Ordinary humans are just not that together...
Ugh... then there's the BS about the business owner not being able to secure financing because of the fair. Affairs happen every day and people don't get ostracized because of them and even if they did they would just pick a business outside of the community where people aren't clutching their pearls over who he stuck his dick in... Meh... Sorry

I hear what you're saying here but I think that from the way the whole story is laid out, the way he discusses his personal finances, the way he talks about everything so pragmatically, the way he explained that this had been a while coming and he likely had a lot of time to unpack and process everything before receiving his diagnosis and second opinion makes me look over the more questionable aspects of the story, as he is likely a logical, reasonable, patient man who had to work very hard to reach the level of wealth/success he proclaims here.
Additionally, my guess is that he lived somewhere relatively suburban, edging on rural/remote given his living on a farm and the way he described the community backlash, as smaller communities are often far more involved in each other's lives/personal business.
As for idea he may be sociopathic/psychopathic for the way he handled this, I highly doubt that. Not everyone is ruled by emotion in their actions the same way, some people are able to compartmentalize or tend to dissociate in the face of traumatic moments. My guess, given from the way he talked about how he felt about her, is that he is more on the side of highly controlled, rather than sociopathic. If anything, his ex wife Emily sounds sociopathic/narcissistic, because of her making decisions that she knew would hurt people but not showing "remorse" or "guilt" until she suspected her husband was onto her and even then was likely only sorry that she had been caught, fucking up her status quo. OP sounds very reasonable and far more composed than sociopathic. This also lends itself to the characterization of OP I made in my first paragraph, someone that successful is usually pretty well controlled and likely tends to respond to adversity by planning and executing their way through to their endgame.
This all being said, it's a block of text in a video narrated by a generated voice, all ostensibly written by a man nobody can identify or corroborate. Your skepticism is warranted and more often than not a reasonable mindset in which to digest these kinds of videos/stories.
when my mother was diagnose with cancer and she survive she was told me stories about couples man and women after find out about their partner have cancer...they start cheating or divorce, etc...this kind of stories are real...and after i become a nurse...i was called to stop a GI bleed of a patient and the guy tries to commit suiced and his wife was coming on hospital with his "friend"...we do not judge but this is what happen when God is not present in humans hearth...
I had a sneaking suspicion that this was completely made up. And I thought to myself, if they do the "hey, OP passed away and left you a letter" bullshit at the end I'll know for sure. And then with all the postmortem updates, they went above beyond with their penthouse forum level of Believability. "All his enemies died, and all of us moved to his favorite place and ran his favorite business and lived happily ever after. Nothing bad ever happened." Hack writing at its worst.
