1980-2000 was truly GH’s Golden Era. It took years to build these characters and story lines and a commitment from the actors playing these roles to stay with it year-after-year. During these years, GH was committed to telling us character-driven stories, where you felt emotionally connected to these people. They became family and you can actually remember what was going on in your own life at the exact moment these storylines were taking place. So thankful we have all of these clips on YT.
As a newcomer, I really feel that those were great years for the show (even though 1998-2000 wasn’t as good). 2001 was ok. 2002-2011 is mostly missable to me. 2012-2013 was like a Renaissance and 2014-2015 were sort of ok. 2016-now, it’s not the same (though it does have some good aspects).
@@isaiahhill2104 I don’t watch GH anymore, much as I don’t buy print magazines anymore. These genres are dying out and it pains me to see the cost-cutting on production and writing. No complicated dialogues, scenes that last less than 2 minutes. Bleh…
@@pam0626 Lmao my brother hates soap operas, yet he saw an episode of GH from July and constantly complained about how every scene was not even a minute long 🤣.
This was some of the "Best" Performances to date. The Actors, had great chemistry with each other and you could truly see how they genuinely cared for one another. These were when GH was at it's BEST!
All these years later, this powerful storyline still resonates. It featured incredible performances from Jackie Zeman, Kristina Malandro Wagner, Jack Wagner, and especially Brad Maule…and let’s not forget Robyn Richards, who played Maxie from infancy through her preteens, and Brighton Hereford, whom I think was the only child to play BJ. GH gave its audience several emotional, character-driven stories in the early-to-mid ‘90s (Stone’s AIDS, Monica’s breast cancer were standouts), but the BJ-Maxie heart transplant storyline represents GH’s peak, I think (especially since it brought so much awareness to organ donation).
This was the best of GH - back when the characters were great the stories didn't take 2-3 years to come to a resolution. I wish these were available to stream somewhere. They were so good. Life is too short for long story Arc's.
this gave me chills - a great tribute to the Jones Family. I think the show was at its best when we had the Jones and Scorpio families, The two families were so connected - it was like one large family. My fave years of GH was 1985-1991 and then this heart transplant storyline in 1994 and then the periods in recent years when Robert Scorpio has briefly resurfaced.
This has to be the saddest, most gut wrenching scene in soap opera history! I can comment all day about this scene, but have only watched it twice. Once when it originally aired in 1994 and once on TH-cam.
I remember this as if it was yesterday. The most heart wrenching scene ever was when Tony put his head on her chest to hear her heart beat. There will never be another scene as sad as this.
Tania Jones/BJ Jones Bio Mom,Tony/BJ Dad,BJ Jones are all gone. Jackie /Bobbie Spencer Jones who raised BJ also died in Real Life in May 2023. Jan 2024 GH Aired Bobbie Spencer Jones Tribute episode.
@T. Sheree Marshall possibly lol but I don't know where she would have gotten another heart. Barbara Jean's heart went to Maxie .... But never underestimate the power of soap writers lolol

Ty Pam, yes back then GH had the best storylines we could connect to, nowadays the storylines are a little bit boring.

This was the most heartbreaking and at the same time heartwarming story arc. Such beautiful performances.

Those are my favorite years as well.
This is Best Tribute to that Sl and Tony and Frisco were so good in this one.
This is beautiful they are gone Tony,Tania and BJ and F n F are apart they are all sorely missed!! Thank you
yes they are
Jackie Zeman is now gone as of May 2023 and Bobbie is also gone.
JW has moved on from Gh Frisco I think.
Still one of GH's best s/l to date. The Jones fam is greatly missed. Maxie and her daughter are all we have left of the Jones bloodline.
One of the best storylines I have seen is being referenced in this video.
Frisco is still alive
This and Stones death were the best storylines in gh history hands down!!!

This is just beautiful - heartbreaking but beautiful.
Thus was the Best Story on GH. Amazing Acting.

That was ad-libbed, not scripted
I’m crying just watching this
i still cant stop crying :'(
Unfortunately after this Claire Labine started going overboard on the sad storylines. Still this was one of the best stories ever on daytime.
Great storyline. This was one of my all time favorite@
I love the theme from Ghost just watching this video makes me cry😢
Beautiful!
So Beautiful. The best stories ever.
How did Brad Maule not win an Emmy for this?
I remember this so well it was two months after my mom passed away it hit me hard that I cry like a baby
That was the most heart ❤
wrenching moment ever.
That is so beautiful!
I hope BJ see her mother is a spirit
What a beautiful thought.
GH was soooooooo fabulous back then
I'll always wished that Tania and BJ were never killed off
I was so pissed that BJ was killed off! Every time I see the death scenes, I cry. RIP BJ and Tony.
