I got invited by Fareed to attend his lesson's at NIU. Was pretty awesome, he gave me a hard time though when I accidentally said flamingo guitar and not flamenco haha... well I was already nervous at how much a noob I was.
I cud not find the 1 or follow ups or nber 3 of this video. Very nice informative lessons here. Please help me with the 1 or 3 or next serial/continuation of this Lesson
Hello Sir, this is very great effort from you. I appreciate it very much. I would like to know if I can learn Carnatic Classical music on the acoustic steel string guitar
All micro-tonal embellishments and grace notes can be played on the guitar. Both Hindustani and Carnatic music can be played on the guitar. You can also change the guitar's tuning and make it sound like a sitar with the "sa pa sa pa" drone.
The rhythmic picking patterns that alternate the drone strings with a melody string note derive from the instrument’s capabilities. There is a vocal analogue, but only distantly related.
This is one of the coolest guitar videos I've seen in a while!
We're so glad you think so!
I used true fire about 5 years ago to learn American folk blue-grass music. Today, I will use it to learn the music of my people.
that guy is very calm!!! love the way he talk calmly.. and response to the guitarist

Wow! This is the best explanation I have found till date. Please upload the missing videos in the series

I wish I was Indian. I’m. Haitian American btw
sitar sounds more natural and soothing peaceful than guitar
Coz of that guitar sound
That's because that guy doesn't know how to play like that. Listen to Prasanna. He plays Carnatic perfectly.
Listen to Baiju dharmajan he too good in Carnatic style electric guitar
I play guitar and I have to agree. Guitar is great, but it has much less place as a relaxing instrument than the sitar.
Yes because sitar has more sustain and resonance than guitar
Wow it's so interesting
Wonderful dears.. God bless you. :)
Pandit Indrajit Banerjee is a great sitar guru.
awesome
soothing
I think im buying a sitar now
Nice
What Gauze Strings you use in electric guitar?
very nice!
❤❤❤❤❤
Un the course will this be broken down more? Will we get sheet music to show the techniques?
They sound nice here but I need a little more clarity.
COOL!
great
I guess these ornaments will work best on a guitar that has a wammy bar... or, even better, on a fretless guitar (I'm actually exploring both)...
Francesco Barberini the quarter tone,
or microtonal guitars
Name of sitar guy
Sitarists name plz
where is lesson 1
Is there any specific instrumental elements that not following vocal embellishments but based on ability of instrument itself?
Unfortunately every Indian instrumental technique aims at vocal imitation, or else it wouldn't sound 'Indian'

Why is the sitar player giving Johnny Depp vibes XD
Belíssimo. Mas não entendi porra alguma
Now i can say how sitar becomes guitar
Talented musicians with embarrassingly faux accents :/
