    I really like the idea of swappable connectors. Also I appreciate that both the connectors and terminations are screw on. I have tried cables with friction fit swappable terminations, and they tend to get loose overtime. 👏👏

    The cables are good for sure, but I don't pay more that 50 bucks in a cable. It seems that companies try to increase the profit margin in a very big way on products like cables.

    I think there are some ways a cable can affect the sound of an IEM in one's ears:
    The cable's construction (thickness, stiffness, etc.) can affect fit and that may change how tight the IEM seals, how deep it sits in your ear (to get a comfortable fit), which will change FR.
    A microphonic cable may lead to less perceived bass because the microphonic noise interferes with the bass of the music.
    And of course, knowing that your cable is made out of premium materials with fancy braiding techniques makes you feel good. That placebo effect can make you enjoy your music more.

    I hope cables with mics get more love in the future - Kinera's Gramr is on my list, but I'm hoping more options become available soon...

    • @JohnRob98
      @JohnRob98 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m with you there. I actually like the small mic/controller that Tripowin puts on their cables like Grace. It’s small enough in both diameter and length that it doesn’t get caught on your shirt, bind up when wrapping the cable, or really ever get in the way. I know that a lot of mics are too big and will get in the way at some point, but small ones are really handy.

    • @jonasharp3
      @jonasharp3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the gramr and it’s a nice cable, but the 2 pin connectors are hella loose. It works fine normally but with the mic attached, the right item gets disconnected all the time.

    • @housepianist
      @housepianist ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All lightning/type C terminated IEMs should have a DAC in the plug. They can be made very small but the quality of those DACs aren't the best - but they get the job done.

    • @VitorMach
      @VitorMach ปีที่แล้ว

    This is great, my major complaint is finding a cable I really love and then having to re-purchase it for a different connector or termination if I swap IEMs/devices. My favourite feature of the Raptgo Hook X is that it came with every termination that I need but having the connectors would be amazing too.

  • @dangerzone007

    The thing you forget is the colour of the cable makes a huge difference. Silver cables sound brighter, black cables sound darker and red cables sound warmer. Forget about EQ. If you want to change the sound just change the cable colour.

    From what I had tried, the difference between the 8 core and 4 core of OCC silver plated copper cables was the sound a little bit louder. Apart from that it looks prettier and stronger .In term of the durability , I live in Thailand which is hot and humid, so the cables normally last long only 2 year. That is what I know.

    Yeah...no. As much as it is nice to have this kind of quality cable with interchangeable connectors, its price is a little to steep. Wait a couple of more months (maybe not that long to begin with especially with the fast moving pace of the IEM industry) and a budget brand will eventually release interchangeable connectors down the line (looking at QKZ).
    That price does not justify the utility it provides. It costs as much as or even more than your average IEM.

    very expensive cables that are very heavy and on top of that have memory you are better buying cheaper cables like Kbear 8 or 17 core that are extremely soft and light without any memory for the same amount of money you can buy 10 of those cables or buy several Gucraftsman cables very light and very durable cables too i spend so much money on expensive cables over 2500 Euro and i don't use even 1 of them i haven't seen cable yet that is soft and light as Kbear 8 or 16 Core and Gucraftsman
    btw TRI Starsea comes with 8 Core Kbear cable branded as TRI of course and it's a much better cable then many $500+ cables i've seen

    Really like the swappable terminator/connector and general aesthetic but the both the cable and conX/termX accessories price are a bit too much.
    Would have been insta-buy for me if the complete package is under 100-150 USD instead of the 200 USD Cable + 80 USD Accessories.

    • @lordbiscuitthetossable5352
      @lordbiscuitthetossable5352 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Generally, cables don't produce any additional sound quality benefit. Generally, what you are paying for usually is the texture, stiffness and durability. E.g. Some cables are a devil for having additional resistance or are really stiff and have a lot of memory in them.

  • @Amphibax

  • @j.b.7133

    While its really cool to be able to swap connectors and all...when you take into consideration that most cables don't change the sound THAT MUCH... it ends up being cheaper to buy separate $25-50 cables for each connector you want...of which you'll have more choice of thickness and colour if you care. Just my two cents
    This is still too pricey for what the end product is.

  • @wiesolos

    You brought up a very controversial topic. I respect both sides of opinions. Normally I don't perceive any difference at all but sometimes I just hear a marginal difference between certain cables and IEMs. I also did a blind test to confirm my perception wasn't psychoacoustics, which I passed. Tonality or FR don't matter in my opinion since it was more intangible like the soundstage and transparency.

    Regardless if it "improves" the sound or not... Wire gauges(mass or strands) of copper wire and its insulation(thickness) does change sound comparatively.
    This is a fact and there is no arguing about it.
    If you're really interested, go read about Resistance, Capacitance, and Impedance.
    Whether if you can hear the difference or not, it depends on how different the cables you are testing(how much more copper one has over another), how good your speakers(IEMs) reproduce frequencies, and how good your ears are(both physically and neurally).
    All that being said, I think it's probably snake oil if you're paying +100bucks prices for cables unless you really like how it looks and feels.

    • @edisonl1756
      @edisonl1756 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@markn866 I'm pretty sure they will say these effects can't be measured. I know a common defence people like to use is measurements don't only "not work" for cables but also do not work for certain drivers, like the bone-conducting drivers that UM and EE offer. But people can notice the effect of bone-conducting drivers, so measurements do not mean all (trust me, I hear this statement multiple times already).
      But these cables surely look premium - and people don't only buy cables for sound quality but also for looks, and usability (plugs). Some companies offer low-quality stock cables too, like 64 audio.
