I highly recommend to go for the Ryzen 3 4300U as opposed to the 3200u or 3250u, it is vastly superior and the same price range. I would also recommend to go for the 128gb ssd and 4gb ram model, and to upgrade it yourself. Buy a 8gb ram stick (ddr4 2666mhz sodim) and m.2 ssd , it's very easy to replace yourself, you just remove the back panel and everything is accessible. And Lenovo even confirmed that doing that will not invalidate your warranty !

It would literally boot into Mac OS and run better for 1/4 the price. Despite buying your Macbook 5 years ago for 1500, its great that it still works. I hope it continues to work too. Although imagine instead of spending $1500, you spent $400-$700 and invested/saved/used the rest of the money.
um we have a 2 GB computer so then we just got this 8 gb lap top. We miss the "real" keyboard of the computer - but this thing is ten times faster and best of all - it's NOT an apple. So you have a bit of chance of changing settings, etc.
Apple... They are mostly (if not always) only selling old(er) and even obsolete hardware which is overpriced, and overhyped. The time has long-come to get away from that proprietary ecosystem...

I have the newer version of this, but it's AMD Radeon Ryzen 7 5700u and runs 1440p. It runs games pretty well and I love it for work. I travel with it and just put it into powet conservative settings in the amd software then switch back to my customs when I feel like it
I’ve had this type of computer for 2-3 years and now it’s not even working anymore. I’ve done nothing to it I only used it to play the Sims 4. The battery is inside of the computer. You have to UNSCREW some shit for the battery to come loose and you still cannot take it out. I had one year protection but I never used it, so Best Buy charged me for it. I couldn’t afford anything so they wouldn’t even tell me the problem and they wouldn’t even give me the damn price.

I got one of these for 375 dollars on a sale. I'm an indie musician and a twitch streamer. IF YOU WANT TO RUN DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATIONS (notorious cpu hogs) THIS COMPUTER WORKS. I've recorded two albums with this laptop, and it's great. Due to COVID I decided to dive head first into nostalgia and start streaming WOW Classic. This laptop BASICALLY is the CHEAPEST introductory laptop you can get that will allow you to have a WATCHABLE TWITCH STREAM (continuous 30 fps in 1080p continuous 60 fpms in 780) on your STREAM when playing older games, assuming you have good internet also. Calling this thing a work horse is an understatement, we ran stress tests with my laptop next to my friends gaming rig he built for 2g's and obviously mine under performed compared to his, but I made him guess how much I'd spent on it based on the results, and he said "Oh at least 1000 dollars, that things nice." Fucking buy it lol

Bought this from Walmart. Loved everything about this laptop except for the screen. The TN panel on this is absolute WORST even for the most basic work. Given the specs, it’s a very good laptop if you can live with the screen.

@@varun2903 display quality is about average i think there's a version that has a 1080p panel but mine is just 1366x768. Colors were not great when I first got it I had to calibrate it because I am an editor. Performance wise, I was able to edit in 4k but using proxies. I haven't tested it in gaming though
while editing 4k RED footage in premiere while using 1080p proxies, I had no problem. It just goes smoothly except when I add in some third party plugins I had to render the effects first to ensure a smooth playback.

The CPUs on offering with this laptop should be plenty powerful enough to run production software. There are many variations of this laptop, so be aware of what CPU you get if you want the most bang for your buck. You can get a quad-core 3.6ghz version for cheap, and that should be PLENTY enough power for rendering projects.

Morsdiem Also check the game requirements, anything that needs over an intel i5 processor won’t work, a game that requires an intel i3, like Fortnite, would work, a game that requires an intel i5 processor might work but if it requires anything above it probably won’t work.

$340 is not bad at all... only in the US though. In Europe, i.e. Germany the price goes up to $500 - same spec. How does it work after a while? If it's still as good as 2 months ago I'll give it a shot even though its way more expensive overseas.

Yes, valorant at low 45-70 fps and 1368 × 768p. Mid settings are in League of Legends, 80-144 fps and 1368 × 768p. I do not know English very well so sorry.
I've had a Lenovo ideapad with an amd a9 9420 and it was shit couldn't even handle half life 2 on low settings at 720p and at the beginning of 2019 the battery leaked and fried the motherboard and it was only around 7 months old £370 down the drain

@@MuzeInspiration ..yup.upgrade the RAM to 12gb & yes,it has fallen to the ground 6 times & still running like a tank...I am running Ableton 11 Live & Reaper...use it for both studio (Reaper) & live performance as a keys rig/ backing tracks (Ableton Live).

@@MuzeInspiration ...I don't have Waves plugins if that's what u talking about..also am not a serious mixing engineer,I do pretty much basic mixing..am more a composer & a live performance musician (using Native Instruments,Labs, Korg Legacy Collection, Spitfire & other 3rd party plugins)..which the laptop does a good job with what I need it to do so far . I've had it for over 3 years now.

i mean, laptop pricing is bad right now due to home office needs but what i really disklike and dont really get about laptops, is the price/performance value they have. ,my wife just got a lenovo idea pad 3 for 499 bucks and its slower fps performance wise, then our old gaming computer from 2014 that was 850 dollars with a "cheaper" monitor. theres 6 years in between those 2 machines and they still havent catched up nearly as far to that old machine

@@varun2903 display quality is about average i think there's a version that has a 1080p panel but mine is just 1366x768. Colors were not great when I first got it I had to calibrate it because I am an editor. Performance wise, I was able to edit in 4k but using proxies. I haven't tested it in gaming though
@rabbit white no lag at all. but it depends on what you're using it for
while editing 4k RED footage in premiere while using 1080p proxies, I had no problem. It just goes smoothly except when I add in some third party plugins I had to render the effects first to ensure a smooth playback.

Hi, I recently purchased this laptop and noticed the camera is grainy. Is this something you've experienced as well? I read somewhere that there is a film over the camera you need to remove but I don't see one.

The CPUs on offering with this laptop should be plenty powerful enough to run production software. There are many variations of this laptop, so be aware of what CPU you get if you want the most bang for your buck. You can get a quad-core 3.6ghz version for cheap, and that should be PLENTY enough power for rendering projects.

The short version is that it depends on the cpu, and regardless of what version of this laptop you buy, you should have plenty of power for your hobby projects

Morsdiem Also check the game requirements, anything that needs over an intel i5 processor won’t work, a game that requires an intel i3, like Fortnite, would work, a game that requires an intel i5 processor might work but if it requires anything above it probably won’t work.

Does anyone know if this will be the same setup for a Lenovo V14 laptop with windows 10/ windows 11 setup? Also if setup the laptop with a new create account on the blue page for Microsoft account can you change that later after finish setup with new account by going back later somehow without possibly resetting the whole laptop such as a factory reset etc.? As I am completely new and using my Lenovo V14 laptop for 1st time originally had a Toshiba L850 pro with windows 7/ Windows 8.1 in the past.

$340 is not bad at all... only in the US though. In Europe, i.e. Germany the price goes up to $500 - same spec. How does it work after a while? If it's still as good as 2 months ago I'll give it a shot even though its way more expensive overseas.

@@petervonpanda I haven't even installed the basic apps by now but it lags a lot. I had to look for solutions in TH-cam and I found some common ones and tried them. Even after that it lags sometimes but sometimes it works flawlessly. It's like a moody girlfriend. Haha. Moreover, are you impressed by it's anti-glare FHD display? I kinda feel cheated about that.
Anyway, was thinking of Linux lately. What are your views on Linux? Do you think it's a good idea to run it on this device?

I've had a Lenovo ideapad with an amd a9 9420 and it was shit couldn't even handle half life 2 on low settings at 720p and at the beginning of 2019 the battery leaked and fried the motherboard and it was only around 7 months old £370 down the drain
