Hello Mike, I found your videos on Chinese Tiktok called Douyin and I followed you here on TH-cam! I just wanna say that thank you for showing the true story of Xinjiang China. As a Chinese myself I never go there but I hope one day I will. If you come to Xi'an in ShaanXi Province, I'll be your personal tour guide to tell you all the great things in our city...And my father used to be a truck driver, so it really moves me that you can share laughter with the drivers on the road. Thank you so much for the joy of your video, hope one day you can come to Xi'an to Visit!!!
Mike, you new hitchhiker friend Mr Lin, must of been very proud to show you around and join you on the travels, he will remember this for his whole life and be very proud. They love good foreigners, and his English skills come into good play meeting you mate.. It sure made his travels much more enjoyable being with you..👍
I saw your video on Tiktok in China, and it got 80,000 likes. People were saying how cute you are. Many people hope to meet foreigners who need help, because we find it interesting to help someone who doesn't know us understand us
Amazing content just discovered you, great work! Amazing to see how technology can either help our governments build animosity between nations, yet at the same time spread the word through channels like yours that at the end of the day the vast majority of people are good human beings willing to help each other...and also allow us to communicate in any language. Thank you for sharing this with us and to our friends in china, happy to get to know you
Hitchhiking is not common in China. Because you are a foreigner, people think you need help. Normally, I wouldn't let anyone in my car. Because China's traffic law stipulates that once a traffic accident occurs, you will be responsible for who is sitting in your car, regardless of whether you collect money or not. Many drivers only buy the minimum amount of insurance, and if an accident occurs, the compensation will not be enough to cover the expenses of others. So I won't cause trouble for myself, and I won't take other people's rides for a ride.
agree.I would never have a stranger in my car, for that and my own safety😂. If someone really needs help,i'd rather get a taxi for him and pay for him than have him in my car. if there's no taxi,i will call uncle police to help him out.
mmmaaaannn i love your sense of humor and spirit of adventure! thank you for filming and telling stories about a real China. These stories about interesting things and people you meet are really touching. I feel pure love&peace between normal people from different cultures.
I came accross the great wall of china video and since then have been watching all the content on your channel this is one of the most unique and amazing type of content i have seen in a while i really hope you continue discovering new countries while staying safe
Most of the police officers you came in contact with looks & sounds Uyghur (from their accent). An oppressor would not leave the public's safety & security in the hands of the oppressed would they ? This should give you an idea if western media reports on Xinjiang is true at all.
Western media spewed blatant lies about G crime over the Uyghurs by China over to their completely ignorant and walking zombie audiences BUT these gullible failed to realised that there are numerous Uyghurs in the military, police, government, media, education, prison etc making the accusation completely absurd, only logical to the brainless.
Content Gold! My absolute favorite kind of thing to watch. The powers of TH-cam used for the greater good 👍 instant sub thank you for sharing your journey! ❤ from south east usa 🇺🇸
I am from the UK, here is the real story about Xinjiang, the Islamic Jihadist leader went to Xiajiang to teach the bad stuff, and to promote Sharia, and to appoint some young people from the province for their murderous ways, which they did, and this young small group then entered central china and started randomly stabbing people lining up at the train station and bus stations, I forgot how many they killed, the local police chased a few of them and caught them, the rest fled, and the army got involved and chased them all to Xinjiang province, then the army and police located the terrorists and killed them on sight, then the police and army found out WHY and wherefores about what happened and how, so they went door to door to locate the jihadists being taught, many of the families then fled china to neighboring countries and went on the news stating the army and police are killing the Muslims... TOTAL BOLLOCKS they were saying as they were full on Jihadists, Thus the local government set up and opened the re-educational camps, and taken in many of the young and families whom were part of the groups, to re-educate them into China values and rulings. Now pls pls believe this what I am about to say, the Muslim communities are TREATED BETTER THAN the local Chinese especially in Schools and Jobs, the Muslims get the first chance of better schooling and jobs, that's a fact, pls also note China in whole is a non religious country also fact... China value is work hard, eat well, prosper and be happy to one another.. They are beautiful people all around, and they love life.. Plus its very very family orientated.. Just like how the golden age of UK was once..
Very informative, and well said. We Chinese believe in the proverb "以和为贵“,which means "Living together in peace is the highest virtue". We don't view ourselves as conquerors or someone who should be in charge. We just want to live well, work hard, take care of our families, and be able to live happy and prosperous lives. We want to do business. We want to make money. We want to eat delicious food. That's really about it. We don't want to change anyone else's political system. We don't want to destabilize your government and make you communists. We don't care. Will you trade us goods that we want? Can you buy stuff that we have available to sell? Good. Let's do some business. The growing young nations of Africa will tell you, the Europeans and Americans often offer help, but then they want to run their countries for them and tell them what to believe and who to follow. But the Chinese just came to do business. They help the Africans, and they help themselves. Good trade helps both partners. The Chinese are moving around the world, building dams, bridges, teaching technology. They are not saints. They are getting back useful natural resources and such. There is nothing sneaky about it. "Debt trap"? The Chinese charge less interest than most other countries do, and it's right out in the open. The fact is, many Western countries are just stirring up trouble in many parts of the world, and then selling military weapons to both sides. Both sides of these conflicts send money to the West to buy weapons, and then they kill each other. The Chinese? The encourage all nations to get together, sit down, negotiate. They want a world where everyone gets along. That's why they say "以和为贵“
Ok. Your english and grammar is a bit spotty in places, so that's an opportunity for betterment if not a little curious, but you've provided an interesting perspective I wasn't privy to. At the very least
instead of jihadist leader maybe its just an undercover CIA agent that want to cause some chaos in China especially the Muslim region, like you know they did the same in some countries in the middle east🤔🤔🤔
All of your videos are proving that Chinese people are supper cool. What a friendly beautiful country. I’ve only visited Hong Kong, the rest of the country seems to be very different and exciting. Thanks for your bravery in this journey, although it seems like it might be one of the safest places on earth
Mike, wonderful video. Just one quick reminder: the stick-out-your-thumb gesture is a Western sign for hitchhiking. In China, if you stick out your thumb, you are giving us a thumbs-up. So of course you get a thumbs-up of approval right back, but usually no ride. Just wave your hand in a friendly way, and eventually someone will slow down and then stop to see if you need help. After travelling in Xinjiang all this time, you've probably figured this out by now. But in case you haven't, well...haha.

I will say, I know you get some weird treatment but as a black guy things were very funky and nobody could figure out why or how I knew a little mandarin and could speak korean. Spy guy! love your content and energy as im laid up with a broken heel. TH-cam has become tiring and glad I found your videos.
Really appreciate that you’re exploring different parts of Xinjiang along the way rather than just Urumqi where every TH-camr goes. Great video to show the real life of people there.
Just discovered your channel and this is so cool to see! It really is amazing to visit places with such few tourists. When your walking through the market and everyone is staring at you reminds me of when I was at an arcade in Nagoya, Japan, where there aren't many tourists either. Good luck in the rest of your journey! You've earned yourself another subscriber! :)
I expect you arrived in the G-14 motorway? When I cycled out of Kashgar (joined by two Manchester lads cycling to Australia) we weer able to use a brand-new, unopened section of motorway, all to ourselves, for 4 days, tarmac as smooth as marble!. We smashed out big miles each day, we arrived in Lanzhou a month later, sleeping under the stars, in drainage tunnels, in deralict pre-fab's, real fun!
This is one of the most awesome series I've seen on YT in a long time. Especially since you're not a creepy sex tourist like Bald or his kin lol. Just a normal dude who wants to see the world and meet the people who live outside of your bubble. I can't wait to see the rest of this.
I think Mike is not from Britain or UK. His is from 'Universe' because he is so universal in every aspect, lovable and love by everyone☺️ keep going Super Hero👍
I liked the expression when you were savoring your food. I don't particularly like (or even know) the food that you consumed. Yet, I can feel your genuine sense of enjoyment for the moment.
Bro goes hitch hiking in remote part of China and gets picked up by a top line Range Rover. If I do that every trip will be in the back of a lori. Lucky man!
judging by the plate fellas were from jiangsu, one of the richest provinces on the east coast. pretty common in that region when I went prob daddy’s money out there jobless
Really love watching your videos. The contents are very different from other China travel vlogs. Love the hitch hiking in Xinjiang, you are very brave and adventurous. It shows that Xinjiang is safe to hitch hike, western medias have been lying all these times. Thank you for showing the truth about Xinjiang and China. I'd love to see more of your adventures, and have subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work and be safe ❤
Its AMAZING how kind and helpful these people are ,ALL of them...dutch people dont even want your custom in their cafes & shops😂these people are so so welcoming...i think us Irish are also...
I actually just came from your other video 4k weeks ago and it was a weird experience to see a place so full of nice and helpful people. Warms my heart to know that their are places like this in the world 💖
I, a Chinese, don't dare to travel like this in Xinjiang. Bruh, you may not know the horror of Xinjiang highways. Many people were attacked by wolves at night when they were camping beside the Xinjiang highways. There are a lot of wild animals in Xinjiang, many are wolves. Bruh should choose a safer way. This is true!
China is the only place where people driving a new Range Rover, and young family with small child would pick up 2 men as complete strangers and invite them into their car.
I don't understand why you met so many kind people including some police , why did you still have some negative thoughts on them. You are being so lucky , you should be grateful to those friendly people. We don't care about where are you from , beautiful or handsome. Being polite to people is what we do from the ancient time. Don't feel that you deserve or they should do it for you even I know sometimes it's for free.
I have to remind you that it is very dangerous to hitchhike standing on the side of the highway. That is the emergency lane, and parking is not allowed unless your car is broken down. That is why the family who picked you up was stopped by the police and will be fined.
do not spread misinformation. in this case that indeed is a emergency situation cause he enter the highway on foot, and you better pick him up cause the police wont allow people wandering on the side of highway let alone a foreigner .
Curious to know whether you still had police checks at every approach and departure to a city, or whether the facial recognition, voice print has replaced it all by now. You seemed to be stopped by police at least once I see... Good to see u like the 'Cornish Pastry'! ;-)
hI Bro Mika, Stay on Ni Hao (exclude the''ma'') you can use ni hao ma when someone is recovering from an ilness and came out of hospita. Hope you don't mind me metnioning this. Wish you happy traveling in beautiful China with its beautiful society take care and all the best
The situation you mentioned when someone recovering from illness, actually should be ni hao dian le ma ? meaning, are your getting little better. hahah, I am Chinese, believe me.

As an American, it'd be nice to visit Xinjiang, or China in general, one day. All the Chinese people I've met in the United States are great people.

Really appreciate that you’re exploring different parts of Xinjiang along the way rather than just Urumqi where every TH-camr goes. Great video to show the real life of people there.
Mike I love your videos man. What a great adventure.
Looks like China is a nice place to visit , thanks for the video .
Great content, really enjoying the videos
I expect you arrived in the G-14 motorway? When I cycled out of Kashgar (joined by two Manchester lads cycling to Australia) we weer able to use a brand-new, unopened section of motorway, all to ourselves, for 4 days, tarmac as smooth as marble!. We smashed out big miles each day, we arrived in Lanzhou a month later, sleeping under the stars, in drainage tunnels, in deralict pre-fab's, real fun!
Great and entertaining videos, Mike! So interesting. Thank you.
This is one of the most awesome series I've seen on YT in a long time. Especially since you're not a creepy sex tourist like Bald or his kin lol. Just a normal dude who wants to see the world and meet the people who live outside of your bubble. I can't wait to see the rest of this.
Hey dude. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch. Thank you ❤️👌
Amazing series this! Beautiful people and country ❤️
Hello mate, new subscriber here. Superb content, already bingeing on it. Liked and subscribed as the kids say.
Awesome, thank you!
Mike, always look forward to your new video.
Bro goes hitch hiking in remote part of China and gets picked up by a top line Range Rover. If I do that every trip will be in the back of a lori. Lucky man!

I'd love to see more of your adventures, and have subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work and be safe ❤

Cool idea on printing out something out you written in Chinese! Did you come up with that? I might do that for a trip to Japan.
Dude it was a total game changer!! Especially when hitchhiking but works well in all rural areas of if you have dietary requirements
You earned yourself a sub! Lovely content m8

Just found ur video this morning and I’ve watched all of this series now and NEED more it’s so awesome to watch !
How are you these days? You are simply amazing! 😊 . I'm extremely excited and looking forward with great enthusiasm to your next video!
Proper China videos mate go on then. So refreshing amongst the utter codswallop on this platform recently.
Looking forward to you going to more places. Xinjiang is really big, with beautiful river valleys, grasslands, and snow capped mountains
Can't wait!
Chinese people are pretty much scared of everything. Most never leave the country because apparently everyone wants to abduct them.
love it Mike
China is the only place where people driving a new Range Rover, and young family with small child would pick up 2 men as complete strangers and invite them into their car.
Yep, and in the US, if you help someone that looks like they are having car trouble, you get robbed and murdered. "Talladega National Forest shooting"
You come from the US, hm?!😅
Not really, even in Africa here where i stay. Botswana to precise, the most peaceful country in Africa
bullshit
Not in Canada for sure
I don't understand why you met so many kind people including some police , why did you still have some negative thoughts on them. You are being so lucky , you should be grateful to those friendly people. We don't care about where are you from , beautiful or handsome. Being polite to people is what we do from the ancient time. Don't feel that you deserve or they should do it for you even I know sometimes it's for free.
Prejudices and bias

Thank you for showing Xinjiang to everyone.Beautiful China welcomes you.
I have to remind you that it is very dangerous to hitchhike standing on the side of the highway. That is the emergency lane, and parking is not allowed unless your car is broken down. That is why the family who picked you up was stopped by the police and will be fined.
哪里说被罚款了?
do not spread misinformation. in this case that indeed is a emergency situation cause he enter the highway on foot, and you better pick him up cause the police wont allow people wandering on the side of highway let alone a foreigner .
其实最主要的原因还是为了他们的安全
It is recommended that bloggers register a bilibili and TikTok account. Your videos are already very popular in these places.
Thank you for showing Xinjiang to the world mate
Curious to know whether you still had police checks at every approach and departure to a city, or whether the facial recognition, voice print has replaced it all by now. You seemed to be stopped by police at least once I see... Good to see u like the 'Cornish Pastry'! ;-)
hI Bro Mika, Stay on Ni Hao (exclude the''ma'') you can use ni hao ma when someone is recovering from an ilness and came out of hospita. Hope you don't mind me metnioning this. Wish you happy traveling in beautiful China with its beautiful society take care and all the best
