Hitfilm express isn't that good software. Because they give it for free and you need to buy everything on in purchase like add-on

I wish I could fully move to linux, but there are some software that I use that is for windows. Some of the software that I use is Pinnacle studio, which I think needs to install Microsoft framework, a few others are videopad video editor, which (I think) kinda speaks for itself. Windows Media player, it's for ripping music, another one is ultra ISO. That's just 4 of the pieces of software that I use. Other than those pieces of software, I could be over on Linux in minutes, I also use chrome, Apache open office.
@@morganrussman Well, you have Linux and Windows both installed on the same PC. And, whenever you switch on the pc it will ask which one to boot and start "Windows" or "Linux".
You can do all whatever you wished to know and experience on linux and you will also be able to use your favourite software on Windows.

It's quite heavy on RAM though. Try ImageGlass

In place of handbrake I would recommend Format Factory which changes audio or video file to any other and Calibre for converting any text format to what you want both are freeware

Shortcut is best free alternative for premier Pro for its plethora of feature, large customisation, 4K output and more. Also works great for even low and mid specs unlike Da Vinci Resolve.
My Video/Post Production teacher has us all using Davinci Resolve instead of Premiere Pro. Not just for price, but performance as well. I also do 3D modeling, and our teacher has us using Blender instead of Maya. The main reason being that we're encouraged to make designs that we can sell, and Maya doesn't allow the sale of products made with their student licenses.

Big thumb up for Irfan view. I've been using it since the days of windows XP SP1... Can't remember if i saw it before but it's a legend viewer with all necessary tools I need like resize, color tweak, crop, sharpen and many many more. I don't mind the simple graphics at all.

For video editing, something simpler and it also runs on all 3 platforms, kdenlive. And for editing pictures I find krita to be much better than gimp, even if it is based on gimp (also I know krita was made for making drawing better, but it also works for everyday uses)

Personally I use Google docs/sweep because of that clean UI and because of Google classroom. It works offline now thanks to service workers. If I ever have to open any doc natively I have Apple pages
If i use handbrake to compress a 10min video it still stays around 1 gb, why?

I recommend WPS over libre office, it has a better interface and more updates. Also, If Gimp covers the basic photo editing, then Krita can cover all the drawing part of Photoshop. Krita is a great drawing program, and, in my opinion, it is better than Paint Tool Sai.

hitfilm is a video editing software that can be learned pretty quickly with some pretty useful guides and effects
krita is a picture editor which also means you can draw random stuff and hud (or whatever) looks similar to photo shop
I have been using Libre office for 4 years and it just works.
Yeah i just switched to it again. I used to have it on Linux pc. MS office fails to open documents downloaded from the internet. It gives some error while Libre works with the same thing no issues.

Instead using Handbrake, if you are an experienced user with command lines, you can use FFmpeg which is free and it has all the features that handbrake has (because is based on ffmpeg but it hasn't all the features that ffmpeg has). The only downside is that you should type all the commands in the command prompt.
Btw nice video, I liked a lot.
ffmpeg has some third party GUIs too, www.myffmpeg.com is my favorite

Well I use cakewalk for music production and is surely a good one to stay with for longer time than any paid DAW's
I use Google Picasa for images, VLC for videos, Groove for Music & Mozilla with u-block origin & https everywhere extensions for browsing... will give brave browser and handbrake a try... Btw great video :).
The 21H1 has improved the native app and os performance.

I am a bit late but XDM is a great alternative for IDM and many such available.
@Technical Jayendra No brother I strongly disagree, when it comes to the next best alternative to IDM it definitely is Xtreme download manager, probably not look as good as Montrix. It is better than Montrix in most of the cases most people need IDM for except a torrent client.
1. Extention is much easier to install
2. Floating video download button, or I would say the downloading video works great, Probably better than IDM
3. Downloads are automatically categorized into folders like Videos, Documents, Programmes exactly like IDM, keeps download folder uncluttered.
4. Is very small and has almost no bugs.
5. You need to check it out for more. Just try it once you won't regret. I've been using it for a year now works like charm,
I would say Pot Player is a good alternate video player, it also has skins!

The point of paid apps/premium apps is that they develop UI and features which are easy to understand and pleasant looking as well, which separates them from free softwares after all

use Windows default image viewer.....i enabled it using registry patch file.....
the station app is resource heavy so i still prefer Franz
Gimp is for low level editing only..... larger images are very hard to edit because brush lags .... Photoshop has this optimized.

you forgot about OS. if you're not into gaming then any major distribution of Linux is great FOSS alternative to windows. and in Linux environment you'll get introduced to most of the free software.
