The closest thing you need to a cleaner now is an uninstaller program that removes stuff left behind. You have to be a fair bit more tech savvy but in a worst case scenario most make you do a restore point to roll back in case something you removed was an issue. I recommend the free version of Revo Uninstaller. However don't use it on programs installed by package managers as that can cause issues for the package manager and learning how to fix it. Then again... restore points are your friend. Mostly do this for a clean uninstall so new installs are clean or to remove sensitive information or configurations that software may have had and would not delete on uninstall. But as TechGumbo said the Operating Systems are way more stable, the bugs in Windows 11 aside, than they were a few versions ago, and most of that management from defragging to registry management is better than most tools that are out there, and any advantages those tools do have are not noticeable in a modern machine.

@speaking up Just because you don't see a problem it doesn't mean there isn't any. There are many viruses not harming the host operating systems, because they need that system (e.g. botnets, miners). If it's sophisticated enough, you won't know it's there.
Last time I tried iTunes for Windows, it deemed _my entire media library_ as "pirated" and auto-deleted it from the entire system. Why? Because the files "didn't have iTunes metadata watermarks", which also describes self-created media files, and files legally purchased from a _different_ storefront (like purchasing soundtracks on Steam, for example). I will never trust Apple software on a non-Apple system EVER again, they do that on purpose to "convince" you to buy Apple hardware instead, which the macOS versions of Apple software lack such "glitches"...
I like to Vivaldi until I realized how integrated and difficult it is to get off of your system. When Revo can't get it all, you have a very intrusive program.

I can understand warning folks to not install the full package, but what is someone gonna do if the webinar you want to see is via zoom? Is it more a security potential like every other software package or is there a severe underdevelopment? I have had a poor experience with ciscos version, just saying.
Winrar got a bad rap. Its not freeware so the popups are applicable until you buy it. I dont think its a "should not be" on your pc. Its a if you rather keep it, you should buy it. Remember they "are" rar.
I ask that you try "Gadwin" screenshot utility. The free version does most of what anyone should want. It can even catch the "prntscreen" key to save screenshots. There is a small sliding menu available if you want to do more than just screenshot and it hides out of the way when you dont need it. First time I saw this feature in such a program. U should try it.
That’s the issue with apps like Zoom, if someone else uses it you’re probably stuck with it. That’s why I only attend Zoom meetings from my work PC.
I notice no mention of ccleaner portable...
Hello again Tech Gumbo
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I needed that timely advice 👍 Again thank you 😊
i've used winrar for so long that the trial popup doesn't bother me at all anymore
I never dared to imagine a world without the popup
@@anFy81 same here. It's not winrar if the pop-up isn't there..
If you pay for Winrar, not only do you get rid of the pop up, you get free updates for life. I bought it well over a decade ago and haven't had to pay anything since.
Thank you for all you do. I was wondering and maybe others ad well. I'm not sure. But can you do a vidoe and show us what different kinds licenses for TH-cam creator? I more use a phone. Could you do one with a phone. It would be greatly appreciated by me. Also what do you think of Proton mail and vpn.
yeah the chrome web store needs t be gone through bad. Lots of companys just abandon the old version of their extenson rename it an claim it's new. see that alot from ones made by ACCESABILITY and PRODUCTIVITY!
4:06 it is NOT automatic upload (you must press the Upload button to upload) and you CAN request image removal. They also improved privacy lately so you can no longer just type random IDs in printsc links to find random screenshots
I'd really love to get rid of Zoom. Unfortunately, there are still some meetings that require me to have it. Just wish that I could convince them to use a different video conferencing program.
If they already have a Microsoft 365 license, maybe you could convince them to switch to teams since that would be cheaper.
Great work 🥳 Thank you 💜
Icloud For windows, Always Tilts my Videos and Pictures a Bizzarre 45-degree Angles...my Head doesn't Assume that position. (and it annoyingly downloads everything as a Zip)
Always enjoy your content and advice. Thanks.
Good looking out. I appreciate it.
I was going to try the "should I remove it" utility but felt 120.00 per year was too much. any other utilities out there that might be more affordable?
Uninstall tool is a very handy utility that removes unused components when uninstalling a program that would usually be left over. It can also force uninstall some programs so if for example you dont use edge, you can use it to remove edge and all of its components
$120/ year? LOL….! No way.
Thanks for another wonderful video! I had Zoom and Lightshot installed. They are now gone.
My new pc comes with cc cleaner and I unistalled it because I already knew I don't need it.
It also comes with winrar and I have a week more before it starts to beg for me to buy a license but I already know 7-zip
You should do an updated cloud storage video. I gotta know if Terabox is legit, or worth it?
Could you siggest an alternative for CCleaner for windows 10?
Bleachbit.
@@prototry Thanks. Will try it out
@@WolvenSpectre I use Revo tools too. The junk files, browsers, microsoft office and windows cleaners.
Glary Utilities 👍. Mentioned before.
What if I use the desktop app instead of the Microsoft Store app for iTunes?
I have to transfer files somehow
iTunes is horrible no matter how you install it. Instead just use a USB cable, or dropbox, google drive, etc. if you don't have a cable.
@@rascta Uh you can't use a USB cable for iPhone without iTunes
And all my cloud solutions are filled
I use Opera for its free vpn, but it has a very intrusive daily update which changes all my configurations. I've tried to disable the updates using all the tips I could find in internet but they didn't work. I am sick of it.
Umm... But mine didn't updated automatically
I don't even need to setting anything
Why use opera? May try tor. It doesn't use s VPN, but probably much safer than that.
@@schwingedeshaehers Brave?
It always amazes me how many people still use TikTok even though it's clearly garbage.
had non installed although i use greenshot instead of sharex
Thank you for your many recommendations!
Awesome video, have a nice day👍
I recently saw that I have Winrar installed but I didn't install it so that was weird,I clicked to uninstall it but cancelled because I was installing a game, and it just disappeared from my laptop
Now I'd like a video on best browser extensions.
Me too please!! (for Firefox)
I mean honestly for MacOS I highly recommend MagicCap, yeah it has a file uploader, it’s not enabled by default anyway though
I use Opera, well actually Opera gx kina more for its customizion but sure I guess i'll try out Vivaldi cause i'm board lol
regarding uTtorrent and it possibly adding software using system resources - it sufficient to uninstall it or do you have to perform additional removals?
thank you!
use revo uninstaller free version
@@logosour thank you!
i use itunes cus i have an ipod and what else am i gonna use
What about Greenshot for a Windows screenshot app? I like a lot of its tools. It does have the option to save to various pic sharing or cloud sites. But those are disabled by default.
I'm curious about this one, too. People in my company use it (from before I started here) but I (netadmin) know NOTHING about it.
Greenshot is great, and it's open source, so it can be forked if they start adding that additional stuff to it.
I personally just use the built-in shortcut Win+Shift+S. It's basically a really advanced clipping tool that allows you to easily edit and save screenshots.
Ccleaner used to be brilliant. Just the other day it randomly installed their browser.. never even asked me first I knew about it was when it opened on finished install... immediately uninstall updated AV and went offline for complete system scan... with x4 2TB ssd and x3 16TB hdd I was not impressed
Thank you!!
Great video. Thanks. 👍
thanks for the info
How do we remove this malware/virus called "creative cloud"? escapetosaturn question to Adobe. "Any program that installs that auto-installs and runs itself without the user's permission is by definition a virus."
It is almost impossible to completely remove Adobe, infects the Registry, which has to be cleaned manually
Thank you, excellent information.
Good video. I think that also WinZip should be added to this list.
I still use Utorrent 2.2.1 build 25534. I have been told that the older versions are okay. It works fine for me. Any comments?
Yes. this was largely believed to be a safe version, although it might not be save any more after all these years.. I use qbittorrent instead.
You might like Transmission. Open Source, Community-Driven and Zero Ads.
I would not install Norton Antivirus because of its bloatware on different computer systems. I usually uninstall it whenever I buy a new computer.
Don't open winrar just right click and extract no messages pop up.
Fantastic and informative. Thanks for the information and other options to use for TikTok and Zoom.
are TikTok and Zoom dangerous? What about google and Microsoft ? What about every version of Windows ?
didn't they collect any information ? TikTok might be dangerous as same as windows systems or google.
Them: How do I remove virus from Windows 10?
Me: Linux
@kaza12345678 yep me to :)
@speaking up Just because you don't see a problem it doesn't mean there isn't any. There are many viruses not harming the host operating systems, because they need that system (e.g. botnets, miners). If it's sophisticated enough, you won't know it's there.
As if Linux is invulnerable to viruses :D
Avast, McAffee should not be included on any PC purchased - first programs I remove on any new PC.
I love WinRAR! Great program.
True
I tried using iTunes on windows several times but it always was a disaster. I think its by design from Apple.
I will never trust Apple software on a non-Apple system EVER again, they do that on purpose to "convince" you to buy Apple hardware instead, which the macOS versions of Apple software lack such "glitches"...
love how TikTok was the first thing
I still use Opera as I find it easy to use and like the way it looks. I will consider changing it. I don't use the other programs.
I don't understand why Opera browser is included in the top browsers list as well as apps not to be installed in your PC list 🤔
I like to Vivaldi until I realized how integrated and difficult it is to get off of your system. When Revo can't get it all, you have a very intrusive program.
Windows logo key plus printscreen [prt sc]
Any suggestions for an alternative to ITunes ?
TH-cam music.
Sumatra PDF is way better, than the old school ADOBE tool, it's a shame that is not available on linux, but for windows users, is a great choice.
there are many things that are not available on Linux.
I prefer Okular, which is actually linux-first, with (I'm pretty sure) windows version available. Both seem good though.
Thanks dude, i didn't know about that tool, i'm a linux newbie.
@@LaZZeYT I use okular on Win10
Not better. In fact it is missing options which I sometimes need. It is very fast and safer though.
Hey, you gotta admit though that opera gx has a pretty unique way to do PR.
Cleaning programs: even Bleachbit?
Thanks Super helpfull
I used realtalkapp to download drivers and it installed some malicious software in my pc
And pc started hanging
You'd think that 7zip is good enough but it can't beat WinRAR's compression.
Yeah, and I have a license for it (yes, I paid them to get rid of the nag screen). It was super cheap anyway (and many years ago). I keep updating and my license is still working.
@@MarcosRobertoDosSantosJF some website sells them for $3, sounds okay
Is Glary still good?
Yes, it's still good for me.
Haha. Nice twist. as always Tq TechGumbo.
Opera is difficult to uninstall. Revo just hangs
So what should I get?
Thanks i almost removed 7zip cause i knew i had already winrar.
