I like your video, I have a daughter at seven. I´m super convinced now. This is The best starting point.

You can run Mausritter for grownups too, trust me xD Just add serious theme, dilemmas and gore, done.

@@FamilyTableTop just in case/ for curiosity: we have 3 lets plays of mausritter for grownups in my playlist "Roleplaying in the 4th dimension". Episode 3 turned out ok. These are not for kids xD (not trying to sell anything, I just genuinely like mausritter!)

my children like MausRitter, it's nice and easy to setup for a GM with a bit of imagination.
We played scenario of exploring our own house and of course our cat was here to bite us.
we will have a try of the starter kit of One Ring, Players play has hobbits, in the shire, more peaceful settings than MausRitter 😄

Reminds me of those old Redwall cartoons. I've heard a few others talk highly of MausRitter. I also agree with Nemo there, about different games for different kids. Awesome stuff. Try looking up an PRG called Wanderhome

For a minute there, I thought this was going to be a system based around the graphic novel MAUS and I was a bit taken aback. (That'd be a cool TTRPG too, but definitely not for very young kids)
This sounds like an awesome story setting! Gives me Tale of Despereuax, Rats of Nimh, or Redwall vibes.

Mausritter is the best game to teach not just kids, but adults how to play in the old-school style. It's has a great hexcrawl system. Teached time tracking. Tracking supplies, equipment, and encumbrance teaches the importance of inventory management.
The Estate is a great hexcrawl and reminds me of Secret of NIMH.

I just checked. My FLGS has this in stock. Will pick up in the way home. The zine aspect of the adventures is fantastic. The inventory system looks great. As a dm I love handing equipment cards to my kids. Will try a game over the holidays with my kids and my nieces and nephews.

That’s awesome. My FLGS does not carry this book or starter box.
I hope you have fun with the game.
Will you let me know how it goes?

Ever since I saw Mausritter I've wanted to run a game for my experienced TTRPG group. It looks so fun and is amazingly laid out.

My little siblings will love this! I have been DMing for my little siblings for years and I've been looking for a game like this to help my little sis learn to DM! (She's been asking for years)

I've been thinking all along that you're probably going to need to run different games to interest your youngest child and your oldest child and perhaps the adults also.

@@NemoOhd20 yeah - that’s a really good point. I’m going to start trying to run games with Riker more consistently- he really enjoyed the session we played together yesterday.
