    I went to Italy in February - March (before quarantine) stayed at an airbnb flat 4 blocks away from the colosseum in the Monti neighborhood. Was really
    cheap! ( about 60€ the night for 4 people).
    Then depending on how many days you have, it’s totally recommended to walk and that will lower the money spent in buses or taxis A LOT!
    There are also museums and places that have free entrance some days.
    If you don’t mind cooking for yourself that’s also a big plus if you’re in a tight budget.
    If you want to try local food, you should ask the locals for some recommendations (in my case my Airbnb host recommended us 3 traditional restaurants and 3 supermarkets)

    • @carlaswan8143
      @carlaswan8143 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I was considering going to rome in march but I was concerned that the weather might be cold, how was the weather when you went there and did it negatively impact your trip in any way??

    • @Los6317
      @Los6317 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carlaswan8143 it’s a bit cold in the morning and afternoon, but nothing too extreme. You may have to take some clothes off during the day. Rome was ok but if you want to go north it’s a bit colder. It didn’t impact negatively at all.

    Rome is rightfully at the top of almost every visitor's list. It's no surprise because it offers so much to experience. Rome is also one of the more expensive cities in Europe but there are still plenty of ways to cut down on your travel expenses.

      Really robery? In western or southern europe there is beer in restaurant for something like 5 eur, so 12.5 for breakfast looks pretty normal to me. In my country (Czech Republic) breakfast in hotels is for something like 4-6 eur, but we have 1/3 salaries.

  • @Valerioraschiamare

      @@MissOtta1 Yes but he paid over 12€ for breakfast. Maybe 6€ maximum in Rome is more normal. In the south its way less, in my parents town it would be 3.50 to 4 € for caffe, cornetto and succo. 12€ is so much :)

    • @Pidalin
      @Pidalin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      But where? When I am traveling to western or southern europe, everything is expensive everywhere, no matter if it's near to sea or in some shithole, even stupid icecream cost 3+ eur in that countries, which is really expensive.
      Even in eastern europe like Latvia beer was for 3+ eur everywhere so where the hell that native people are eating or going for beer? In my country (Czechia) it's overpriced only in touristic spots, but when you go to less crowded place, you can't have beer for more than 1.8 eur and main meal for something like 6 eur. But you can find restaurants and pubs with normal prices even in historical center.
      From all countries I visited, the cheapest was probably Croatia, they have very cheap coffee, for something like 1.2 eur, which is cheaper than in my country, but beer cost twice and such things like coca-cola are extremely overpriced in restaurants. 250ml bottle of coca-cola for almost 3 eur, that was really crazy.
      Last year I was in Portugal, I expected normal prices when I saw their GDP and average salary, so I was really shocked when beer in restaurant was for 5 eur. :-D
      Everything is extremely overpriced, they buy bottle of beer in supermarket and sell it to you for triple price, that's really good bussines. :-D

    LOL one of the most expensive breakfast I've seen in Italy, if you want to show how expensive is a city, please choose different locations, so that people have a 360° view, because if you show only really expensive places and say "How expensive is ..." you are giving partial informations.
    For people interested, in normal italian bars (you can easly find them in Rome too) you have:
    1 Espresso for around 1$.
    1 Cappuccino for around 2$.
    1 Pastry for around 1$ to 2$ depending on the type.
    THEN if you go to certain areas, or certain places you can have more expensive breakfast as shown in the video.
    Besides this nice video!

    You should also include some remarks or shots on sanitising your hands when on the metro or in a restaurant and on wearing a mask in Rome. As a travel channel I think it is necessary that you also raise the awareness of the current situation and how to deal with it on travels. Just cutting it out might insinuate to many of your viewers that Covid is not a problem or an issue in Italy, when it really is and should be for anyone going abroad!

    You definetely stopped to a tourist trap coffee shop. The average breakfast won't cost you more than 5 or 6 euro for every thing you've got. An espresso costs 1 euro max 1.10, a croissant 1.50 if not less, and a glass of fresh orange juice 2.50/3 euros. If the prices are higher than that, it's not a local place and most likely it is also crap

      Rome, Florence, Venice and all the art cities are actually quite empty, there isn't many tourists but everything is opened.

    Faltou ir na Galeria Borguese. Maravilhosa!!!
    Esqueceu de mostra a Pieta na Brasília de São Pedro.
    São Pedro in vicoli , onde está o Moisés de Miguelangelo o túmulo do Papa Júlio II.
    Quatre Fontane que são do século 16.
    Largo de Torre Argentina onde fica o Teatro de Pompeu.
    Realmente Roma é um museu a céu aberto.

    They are selling at the supermarket one sleezy round piece of pizza, sloppy, burnt with just tomato sauce, which in Greece would have been instantly discarded, for 2,5 euros. They sell at the central train station pathetic toasts with stale bread for 4,5 euros and a plain decent sandwich is at 6 €. When I asked my Italian host there, why this is happening he told me that the rents are high in the sky. I cursed them so many times so hard, a few weeks (not more than 6) later, they were left with 0 tourists at all.

    When we are not under covid restrictions. Rome has a fantastic "Happy Hour". In an are North of the Vatican I had a wonderful Montepulciano red for 8 euros at 6:30 P.M. and there was a free buffet with very tasty pasta salads, different small sandwiches, amazing antipasto. I didn't need dinner. Lost's of Italians go for happy hour, then a nap and a late dinner. Trastevere is amazing for late dinner. My favorite: www.aispaghettari.it/

  • @carakeora7344

    In Sicily you get an espresso AND a cornetto for €3,00 and I’m even exaggerating, also in the best place!

  • @francoborgia8351

    First place (Pasticceria U.Giuliani) is really really expensive, 3.50€ for a cornetto, 6€ for a juice, € 3 for an espresso... all too much. I'm italian and I always live here, but those prices are really exaggerated (usually with 3€ you get both cornetto and cappuccino!)

      @Bill Laswell usually sitting in is much expensive than takeaway or standing up at the bar counter, but not everywhere and not so much; central area of largest cities is off limits to me (talking 'bout bar). I'd have no breakfast in any bar if I had to pay 6.5€ for one coffee + one cornetto
