I completed my Mod1 Builders Kit and let me say, I have a DD and the Radian blows it out of the water. Especially since I’m a wrong handed shooter. Keep up the good work and honest reviews ❤
I assembled 1 from a builders kit with a criterion barrel and it is probably my favorite AR. Got a second lower for my next project. The fit and finish of their receivers are second to none.
Finest AR 15 I’ve ever shot. Have the 14.5 pinned and weld and the 9” in .300 Blackout. The tolerances are ridiculous, accuracy beyond what I’m capable of and run like sewing machines. Proud that they are made in my home state of Oregon. Customer service team is fantastic as well. I’ll never give up my Radians.
@ Nice! I primarily run the Dead Air Nomad and it sounds amazing and runs flawlessly. I know they are currently on a lot of sh*t lists but have 5 of their cans and zero issues.
I have 2 of their lowers and they’re second to none. I haven’t wrung for an upper yet but the 14.5 is looking like this years big purchase. Great content as always sir and the reviews are very detailed… Keep them coming please!
Great video! I owned other brands and was happy ( DD, Geissele, Sig, LWRC, PWS). And buddies have Balckout Defense, LMT and KAC. I walked into a store that had a 14.5 & 10.5 Radian. Just pulling the charging handle of the Radian will tell you all you need to know. I traded up and couldn't be happier. I will say yes there is other good brand rifles but Radians just have something special. Really like both sizes very flat shooting as well. Married a Hux on the 10.5 w/Eotech. 14.5 has a NF NX8 lpvo w/ offset RMR thinking Lazarus 6 for a can. Thanks for a great review.
They're really not that special. It's an overpriced rifle on par with Geissele and BCM --both of which have better barrels (CHF/chrome lined) and will put up similar size groups as the radian (1-1.5MOA) while the radian uses a stainless barrel.
No regrets on what I spent on mine awhile back. I wanted one "high end" AR after years of BCM and Aero DIY builds (nothing wrong with any of them). Mine had the older 3rd party trigger and I didn't dig it, so it's got a flat shoe LaRue MBT-2S in it now. Also added a JP SCSS I pulled out of another build to really smooth things out. There's also a pin connecting the handguard to the upper for anti-rotation, the front trigger pin is keyed so it'll never walk. Friend shot mine awhile back and said the handguard was essentially an MLOK quad rail, which combined with billet upper and lower all adds to the weight, which is really a non-issue IMO. And to be that guy, the dust cover is also Magpul and the buffer tube is most likely from PWS. :)
For anyone saying you can't afford it. You should never say you can't afford it. You just might have to pinch and save your pinnies a bit longer but never say I'm too poor. That's a terrible mindset to have. And one more note, I fully endorse maxing out a credit card or two as well lol
Took me just over 2 years to build my own hybrid 1 part at a time. Anyone can budget out for what ends up being an expensive rifle. Whether part by part or by just saving for a few years. Build your dreams, guys. Life's too short
I agree!…with the first part at least. People just don’t want to save and wait they want everything now. Then it turns out they have multiple budget platforms.
Radians don’t look like they are machined, they literally look and feel like they are sculpted by someone who obsesses over details. They get hated on because of price and proprietary receiver parts, and they don’t have the acclaim of rifles that were awarded military contracts. But if you are fortunate enough to own one, handle one and see the fine details up close, you’ll understand why it’s in a class of its own and a low price point would not make sense at all. No disrespect to all other rifles.
As far as their charging handles go - I never wanted to be "one of those guys". Always rolled my eyes at every ar dude ever on every channel saying "muh radian raptor bruh". Well...after a long time of my bcm gunfighter (which i still love) poking me in the chest while slung, i finally got sick of it last week and I caved. A radian raptor arrived in my mailbox yesterday and dammit...now i get it. It really is an amazing piece and no more poking. As for the mod 1 - that may be the only rifle on the planet where the price is justified. They're absolutely beautiful and the quality is above and beyond anything else on the market imo. Knights, lmt, and noveske included
I have 4 model 1’s. Best rifle on the market has down. Only difference between radian and other expensive rifles is that it doesn’t have the military contracts others have. With the model 1 you get so much more than you get with just milspec plus rifles. Not to mention it shoots submoa out of the box.
I worked on the "high end" KAC M110 and I can confirm that KAC does not make a premium rifle but charges premium prices. Had one that could fire without the trigger being pulled and it wasn't running away but time periods before it would shoot by itself. Trigger pull test past function test passed the adjustments where factory setting. We still don't know why it did that.
I’ve been hard pressed to upgrade from my URGI upper since getting sub moa groups at 100 yards with its CHF/CL barrel. Goes to show how much tech has improved. After watching this though, I’m curious if I could get “best of both worlds” by throwing a geissele barrel into a radian builder kit
@@HuntFishShootChannelplease try to get your hands on one , your opinions are definitely honest and i actually bought the mr920p after i saw your video on it and i love it .
I got the 14 inch radian builders kit. Thinking about adding a superlative titanium clamp on gas block, 14.5 x dev trident barrel. Kak sand cutter low mass bcg, unrivaled defense magnetic captured buffer, blackout defense hybrid trigger blackout defense hybrid muzzle device and a reptilia stock. Going for high quality, light weight, zero recoil and sub moa. Opinions would be greatly appreciated because I am not dead set on the barrel or the bcg. Initially I was going to get a centurion lightweight 14.5 barrel with the kac style tapered barrel extension along with their chrome sand cutter bcg but I'm still going back and forth because I suck
very happy with my Radian 223/10.5. if future iterations come with a lighter accurate barrel... i would be interested in a second Radian. That barrel is close to half the weight. it is built like a swiss watch but runs like a freight train. I did put it together myself so I opted not to get the vertex trigger. It's good, but I wanted the original trigger they used which is the AR Gold adjustable. The original gas block was very good but I shoot suppressed so replaced it with a supelative bleed off. suppressed it runs great with a griffin bushwhacker maybe only 1/2 moa shift. It's interesting he had issues with Lancer mags as that is most of what I run along with pmags. Never had feed issues. I do oil everything I own though with CLP or graphene oil. Put about 1500 rounds through it and it is still trucking great. Yes lead times for a complete one is way too long. They are approaching TTI build times with the heavy demand. Picking up a complete upper and a near complete lower was the route I went. Primary and Radian both have 20% off right now. A few other guntubers have said they like it better than the Knights Armament.
I bought 10 lancers in 2021 and about half run right in all my guns. It’s very hit or miss and certain rifles. Love the rifle my only thing is wish it was a bit lighter. Thanks for sharing!
😅This thing looks almost as overgassed as my 16'' LMT, I had it chopped down to 14'' P&W and it shoots suppressed about the same as this Radian unsuppressed. My SOLGW suppressed with Sandman K 5.56 cap eject about the same as this Radian unsuppressed. Sure it might still be soft shooting due to its weight, but you can't tell me this is well gassed with a straight face.
Hmmm, that’s tough but I love the super duty rifle. One of my favorites, I may buy another to review it. For the money, damn hard to beat, unless you want a full ambi gun.
I got an LWRCi M6IC DI as my first AR since I’m right handed and left eye dominant. I wasn’t sure how I would shoot. Trying to activate the left side bolt release with my left index is impossible for me it is very far away (and I have long fingers) compared to the right side (left=2 1/4” right=1 7/16”). Hoe is activating the left side bolt release on the Model 1? Is there a distance difference between the two sides?
Alls im saying is this rifle is 20% off right now so you could get it for $2400 instead of like 3100!! Personally I would never buy at 3100 but 2400 feels like a steal. I do wish it had adjustable gas and a lighter barrel tho.
Couldn’t say for sure, the barrel is stamped and marked radian on it. Like everyone else in the business, not many make their own barrel, especially with companies like Criterion or BA or Proof.
@@HuntFishShootChannel If Radian doesn't send you one, I'll send you mine for review! For real. Love the channel and think you're doing legit and helpful reviews.
It’s not going to have machine gun like durability but for anyone using it as rifle for anything in the 50 states, you will see little difference or at least any difference worth talking about. Keep in mind if you have the money to shootout a stainless barrel after let’s say 15,000 rounds and accuracy goes down, then replace it. But like most companies their barrel will be warrantied for the life of the rifle.
Awesome handguard and nice ambi lower.......but that's about it. Barrel is a lil above avg but you can get much better for the price Safety and charging handle are fine but overhyped. Radian is overpriced. However, not many ARs are this complete, great package.....but you pay for it.
You’ll be very happy with the S&W Sport 3. But of course you’ll have to put in another 5 to $800 to be totally happy. But that’s with every AR platform.
@HuntFishShootChannel indeed, but what I was referring to is the whole 1 builder/1 rifle comment. I think Noveske also does this, similar to a custom 1911 build process
Juggernaut makes a lower that is real close to the Radiant but the right hand bolt release will not lock the bolt back at least mine doesn't but it is about ten years old i don't know about new one's i don't know what upper is on mine a gun shop built a hand full of them for a sale it is stainless and Spyro fluted i wish i new who made it all i can see is 223 wiley made in u s a and it will Consistently shoot around a half inch the last group i shot a week ago was .255 i took the trigger out last night it was three and half pound I'm going to put a lighter pull thinking about the jard single set trigger had one before and loved it i have a factory one in one of my sako's it's so light that my gage won't measure it. I would love to get that mod1 it in my opinion is better then a KAC.
You jerk! I had already decided to not take advantage of Radian's 20% off sale (saving more than $600 on the Model 1)... now you have me regretting that decision. Thanks a lot! 🙂
I specifically said in the video how is a mid length gas system and non adjustable gas block. I even say it’s gassy. I did not compare it to a knights. That would take a video to do. What I said it’s in a similar, tier per se. But it’s actually available and not at absurd prices. If you are looking for a gotcha moment, I don’t care enough if you think you have it.
Great quality tools, no doubt. Have you been able to get some rounds under a LMT MARS-L Spec War 12.5? In my opinion this specific rifle is up to par with Radians', LWRCi, ADM, DDs, Geissele and even Knights Armament. A suggestion in the info-trade gun world. th-cam.com/video/a8H3K7UL6-g/w-d-xo.html
@@HuntFishShootChannel I get it! Also another suggestion for LPVOs reviews, I would like to know your thoughts and experience with the Trijicon Credo HX 1-10.
its all hype they do not make a rifle better then the BCM. but they cost way more right now you get a BCM for under 1500.. just another company that over prices there stuff like DD and knights. you get a better gun for spending 3-4 on just a rifle. you are just paying for the name to brag about. BCM is used by military and post military guys all use BCM and they all say the same..
So this rifles price tag is backed by the "I'm not like the other girls" mentality. Unique looks are cool but not HK money cool lol. 15:27 You talked about how amazing the mag release lock back feature was for fixing malfunctions and how you usually drop a mag anyway when there is a malfunction...then cleared the malfunction without using any of the built in lower controls or dropping the mag. So, how accurate is this thing? For 2.5k it better not be another 2.5 moa rifle.
@@HuntFishShootChannel BA barrels have a 1 MOA guarantee also. Saying it can do it doesn't mean it will. If it's like most company guarantees, it's a 3 shot cluster out of a 9 shot group. You know what's really wrong? Not using the added controls to do the thing you hype them up for. It's like they really aren't needed and are just there to hype a price 🤔.
I don’t disagree, did you see me use the bolt release on a reload? Ambi controls are not a must but in 2024 about to be 2025, they are some of the last bits of innovation or change the AR15 can have so we drew attention to them, especially because everyone knows how Radian makes the ADAC lower.
You do know we have reviewed a ton of PSA guns on this channel and regular promote their stuff right? But to say their QC is that of the Radian or even close is not the case.
@HuntFishShootChannel and do you know how many negative things you say about other gun manufacturers? Theres atleast 3 in this video. Youre supposed to protect the 2A community, never shitting on them.
So I’m not supposed to expect more out of the one producing products? I have the voice and I’ll use it to wish for better QC, better quality and more innovation. Our job is to review guns with the channel, which promotes the 2A, it also calls for providing honesty.
Please shill harder... You lost me at "I use MOA because I am an adult." MIL is just as widely accepted and used just as practically... just admit you are bad at math or learning new concepts. Worth noting you never used your fancy bolt release you kept bragging about in any of your reloading drills and you showed a stuck casing/gun failure. I run PSA to Geissel to Noveske and they all run flawlessly if setup and tuned right. Blaming P Mags or Lancers is just weak. Sweet rifle though.
I know how to use Mil. It’s not rocket science, I just use MOA. Both have positive and negatives, let’s not get butthurt over a joke. The MOA vs Mil argument is dumb. I didn’t brag about the bolt release, nor bolt lock, but drew attention to the difference between it and other manufacturers. Didn’t blame PMags but ti blame a magazine when I have had issues with them is being honest. It’s ok to like something and if that makes me a shill, who gives a shit.
@ you shilled and you shilled hard. The internet remembers and so do your jeans with the new holes at the knees that radian put there after they were done with you. What’s dumb is saying you use MOA because you’re an adult… Also… don’t shit on PSA. Every company has QC issues. We accept their QC issues because they always make it right and stand behind their products while offering them at amazing prices to arm US citizens.
Unnecessary heavy , especially on the front end. Had the 10.5 radian full build in 2021 and nothing stood out to me . Just another quality AR, plenty others out there that I liked as much or more especially when adding a few of my preferred parts. To each their own tho, buy what you like.
You really don't make clear why this Radian is leaps and bounds above top tier AR's. Anything really special about the BCG or barrel, magwell, handguard, etc...? Nice rifle, but...???
Did you watch the video on mute and not pay attention to the majority of the video? Because all of the things you mentioned were brought up in the video.
For anyone complaining about the price, you can buy a Radian builder kit, Criterion CORE barrel, Spikes T2 buffer kit, and BCG, trigger, and furniture of your choice for less than $2k. Far superior than anything at that price point.
The main part on a rifle is the barrel, I agree criterion core is very accurate

How does this compare to blackout defense. Great video and great gun.
Couldn’t say, I haven’t shot that one.
Awesome rifle
For sure!
Very nice rifle 👀! Just received Geissele new Hbar 14.5 barrel for a new Centurion upper with BCM Raider handguard.
Hell yeah! That will be great!
They are already selling them separately? The Hbar barrels?
@@savvycivvy5644 yeah, they're already selling them. I got mine from EuroOptic.
@@mac7977 how is the accuracy?
I would love to have one of these as a 10.5 sbr. not really into 16inch guns anymore :C
That would be a killer combo!
10.5s are cool to look at and maneuver but they absolutely beat themselves to death and you lose too much of what makes 556 a good round
Have you shot any of the type A rifles
No I have not, that’s on the list!
How are the black out Defense vs Radian?
Not sure but I would like to find out!
You need to try the CAT WB suppressor on this rifle.
Thanks for the input!
Sweet!!!! AR-15
I can't speak to the Model 1's specific measurements, but the left side controls on this rifle are very well-designed and easy to use.
How about this vs the LWRC IC-A5
I would pick this over that but damn that’s a good rifle too!
I would love to know how it stacks up against a Noveske Recon
Couldn’t say
Looks great but I’ll keep my Lwrc duty and my Q sugar weasel
Great choices!
Lewis Machine and tool does

Thanks for the info
Alls im saying is this rifle is 20% off right now so you could get it for $2400 instead of like 3100!! Personally I would never buy at 3100 but 2400 feels like a steal. I do wish it had adjustable gas and a lighter barrel tho.
Where?
Where at??

radian lower + a MCX rattler upper seems like a good idea…
I like it!
Does the Radian mod 1 come with an adjustable gas block?
No unfortunately it does not.
@HuntFishShootChannel , yeah that's unfortunate 😕
I believe Radisn uses Criterion barrels
Couldn’t say for sure, the barrel is stamped and marked radian on it. Like everyone else in the business, not many make their own barrel, especially with companies like Criterion or BA or Proof.
Was really hoping your sidearm was going to be a Glock with the Radian Ramjet/Afterburner combo. Full showcase.
We should make that happen!
@@HuntFishShootChannel If Radian doesn't send you one, I'll send you mine for review! For real. Love the channel and think you're doing legit and helpful reviews.
I’ll get them to send one out
Toolcraft makes their BCG’s, just an fyi. That’s a compliment tho since their BCG’s are top tier.
Ok 👍
Sierra 5 not have a ton of back pressure? That's a wild statement because mine has insane back pressure
I have found it’s more dependent on rifle and also compared to a sandman K.
Mil spec versus proprietary?
Nothing proprietary outside of the mag releases, bolt lock levers and barrel nut.
Radian ADAC lowers all have the tensioning screw. Radian calls it the SART. I have three (2019 to 2023) and it's unchanged.
Roger that 👍
Wow this dude is full of it.
😩
Cry harder.
I’d say the same if I got that rifle it’s supper rad
💪💪💪
I need to sell mine. I rarely ever shoot it compared to my 12.5”
12.5 is a great length!
What are you looking to get?

What kind of durability can you expect on a stainless steel barrel like theirs? Never had one CHF guy here
It’s not going to have machine gun like durability but for anyone using it as rifle for anything in the 50 states, you will see little difference or at least any difference worth talking about. Keep in mind if you have the money to shootout a stainless barrel after let’s say 15,000 rounds and accuracy goes down, then replace it. But like most companies their barrel will be warrantied for the life of the rifle.
Awesome handguard and nice ambi lower.......but that's about it.
Barrel is a lil above avg but you can get much better for the price
Safety and charging handle are fine but overhyped.
Radian is overpriced.
However, not many ARs are this complete, great package.....but you pay for it.
Thanks for sharing your input
I have a Mod 1, but my SLR RIFLEWORKS 11.5 is the gun that I'll never sell. Everything else has a price......lol
That’s fair!
I can’t afford it. My budget allows me to get either a Stag arms AR15 tactical at the high end of my budget or Sportmans 3
I truly recommend Zion 15 for that price range. I think its higher quality and QC than the Stag and S&W even though those are solod choices.
@ I can’t fine IWI Zion in stock in my area
@mma709 i personally buy everything online and just ship it to any FFL of your choice. Edit: in stock MidwayUSA
You’ll be very happy with the S&W Sport 3. But of course you’ll have to put in another 5 to $800 to be totally happy. But that’s with every AR platform.
That’s a good down payment on an optic
My SOLGW came with a certificate from the armor 🤷
They do come with a lifetime certificate of its build. They make great rifles for sure!
That's when I win the lottery ar 😄
She’s a pricey one
@HuntFishShootChannel 😄👍
1:54 how about Noveske?
They make nice rifles but most people will tell you noveske is about paying for the name.
@HuntFishShootChannel indeed, but what I was referring to is the whole 1 builder/1 rifle comment. I think Noveske also does this, similar to a custom 1911 build process
I know they used to do that, but I can’t speak to them still doing it. I’ll have to check into that!
Great input, thanks!
You jerk! I had already decided to not take advantage of Radian's 20% off sale (saving more than $600 on the Model 1)... now you have me regretting that decision. Thanks a lot! 🙂
Shoulda done it! Keep an eye out!
Did you mention the gas system, gas block? You did compare it to the Knights.
Is it adjustable, pinned, dimpled and rock set? Bla Bla Bla.
It’s in the video, but one must listen to all 24 mins. Thanks for your concern.
Actually watching it twice to be honest… what is the time stamp? I’m calling BS
@@HuntFishShootChannel hopefully you are not taking about when you said that they made the tube? Time stamp or be guilty of lying about it.
@@HuntFishShootChannel yes you do and no time stamp?
4:11 I hope they use the screws and not the bits😂😂😂.
Right 😂😂😂 got heem.
2500 is not bad at all. Too bad deal ends today.
Nope that is a great deal for it!
Radian doesn’t make everything on the rifle in house. The trigger is made by timney. Also the bcg and buffer system is made by another company.
Ok thanks!
I want to get one for review, lots of stuff to do unfortunately sometimes we just don’t have time
@@HuntFishShootChannel I get it! Also another suggestion for LPVOs reviews, I would like to know your thoughts and experience with the Trijicon Credo HX 1-10.
The little experience I do have with that optic is that it’s very nice but tight eye box and prefer the Vudu 1-10
its all hype they do not make a rifle better then the BCM. but they cost way more right now you get a BCM for under 1500.. just another company that over prices there stuff like DD and knights. you get a better gun for spending 3-4 on just a rifle. you are just paying for the name to brag about. BCM is used by military and post military guys all use BCM and they all say the same..
Ok 👍
People trying to sell a DEL-TON 316H sierra for 3100$ WTF. At the same time tried to 💩 on PSA. 🤡🤡
Let’s not get out of hand here, no one shit on PSA. We review a lot of their guns and love them.
It does have a 1 MOA guarantee and found that to be the case. You are wrong, thanks for the input.
2:07 the hate on PSA is real 😂😂😂. You do know Psa is trying to help us the people to get firearms right?
What’s dumb is saying you use MOA because you’re an adult…
Also… don’t shit on PSA. Every company has QC issues. We accept their QC issues because they always make it right and stand behind their products while offering them at amazing prices to arm US citizens.
Too rich for my blood! No doubt it is an exceptional rifle, but I will stick to my BCM.
That’s a great choice!
In my country 5k$, which really sucks tbh
Damn that’s insane!
Radian doesn’t make their bcgs, not sure about their barrels
Roger that!
That’s reeeeal dumdum money bros.
😱😱😱
Unnecessary heavy , especially on the front end. Had the 10.5 radian full build in 2021 and nothing stood out to me . Just another quality AR, plenty others out there that I liked as much or more especially when adding a few of my preferred parts. To each their own tho, buy what you like.
That’s the beauty, tons of great options out there!
All that money and the receivers aren’t even forged.
😩😩😩
I wonder how much he gets paid for this video
Not enough, aka 0 dollars. Checked the ad revenue too, and not looking good. Sometimes things are just really good.
@HuntFishShootChannel My apologies. I better watch it again. Must've been distracted.
