Very nice video Misu, I enjoyed it a lot. I also don't like this 711B3 mechanism: it's way less reliable than its predecessors. In Spain we had an stripped down version of that mechanism in which the capstan drives the reel hubs via belt, so no reel motor was present. Nice thing about NTSC is that you only need two heads for video+HiFi. Please keep doing this nice job. Thumbs up!
I didn't know about the SL-200 - only the SL-2000 (which I have) and the HF2000 for the US market. Mine has a power supply issue at the moment which I must get around to fixing. Looks like the SL200 is the same as the SL2000 but without the lovely 'buttonless' lit up controls. Both really wonderful machines and some great work you've done on it too.
To meet the needs of using different color systems around the world, Japanese companies have created model versions that work in Pal and Mesecam systems.
I am impressed with the forward/reverse picture search quality. For a 2-head machine the special effects are amazing.
