- Sonic Mania Re-Imagined is a Mod of Sonic Mania Plus made by FrikFoxz.
The mod here features various stage & character mods made by various creators. With the addition of Shadow (replaces Mighty) & Silver (replaces Ray), a few stages such as Seatide Hill, Tidal Tempest, and even Coral Cave are in the mix, plus there is an option between 2 different soundtrack choices. The one here is part of the definitive edition, where as the other uses 80s & 90s soundtracks.
BIG NOTE: I was notified from one of the creators of one of the mods featured in the FrikFoxz's mod pack that all of the stages & characters here were apparently used without permission by any of the creators. I had a sort of feeling that was the case, and to anybody that assumed so as well, but I do appreciate the confirmation from one of the creators.

I'm glad you tried the mod, I really liked the video gameplay. But I know that there are people who say that I steal content and if I accept it, but in the description and in the comment posted there I put that the levels are not really mine and are from the talented creators. And I put their links in the description so that they can download. Thank you very much for testing my mod. I loved the video💙
I don’t really think it matters that you went back and credited (after numerous people told you to do so), you shouldn’t have even stole the mods in the first place. They’re not yours. I would highly recommend going back and reuploading a version of the mod where only YOU create the content, or get permissions for the other content.

It *does not matter* if you credited people before using their content. You did not get permission. You should take the whole thing down.
Honestly I think you should've just asked everyone involved for permission to put all these levels in said pack, maybe even collaborate to make some additional refinements and improvements, or would that require too much modding knowledge for you?

@@darthraven encore mode is literally just mania mode with a fresh coat of paint and a small new mechanic that doesn’t work correctly if you die on the flying battery act 2 bossfight

The sense of pride and determination that Sonic walks with.. I'm not quite sure if it reminds me of Paddington bear or some other character. As if he were given marching orders and just casually walks toward wherever it is he pleases. Such comedy and hilarity.

I honestly think Sega should start making games like Sonic Mania more often for the series.
Instead of waiting for years for another game like mania, maybe try doing more games like this. Maybe even try restarting the story to fix it all. Focus on what works.
I don’t mean to completely get rid of modern Sonic, I just think these games should happen more.
I would buy more games with Classic/Alternative Sonic.

Wow, whoever made this mod deserves a medal. The animations are superb. Like something out of a Sonic anime/cartoon or the movies. This could easily be mistaken for a Sonic Mania sequel.
Too bad the sprites and music were literally stolen and ripped from other mods without the creator giving credit and asking for permission first.

Hi, I'm sure you're probably not aware of this but this mod uses stolen content from multiple people. For example, I created the extended Angel Island Zone, and a friend of mine created the new layout for Lava Reef. These were all used without permission. I suggest adding a comment or an addendum to the video noting this. Thank you!

@@bluecorp8557 It still counts, This is a reimagining of sonic maina. Its running on the same engine, but has its own music and own game. Technically it's a new game, like sonic CD. Sonic CD runs off the same engine sonic 1 runs off of.

i have a few problems with the mod: first i think that shadow's walking sprite should be altered as it looks bad compared to the others. silver's looking up animation could use some work. and my BIGGEST gripe with the mod is that oil ocean is replaced with a lifeless water level; like tidal tempest is already in the mod so why have TWO water levels ya know

3D Sonic desperately needs the Sonic Mania treatment.
This is so good. Such good level design and sprites.............however i do have only ONE complain. Shadows hanging on sprite doesnt suit him at all. Also i think his super peelout sprite should have blaster fire at the shoes, because Shadow cant fly and it would look awesome

I think if sega tried adding shadow and silver with extra chaos abilities into a 2d sonic mania 2 game it would be pretty awesome. For sonic mania 2 we could have normal gameplay with sonic then after that you could have shadow with some chaos powers mixed in like spear and for silver you could have a psychic power or two mixed in with normal abilities.
If sega did that, added new levels for each along with exclusive bosses, and maybe a story that clashes them together for a super ending event it would be perfection. It would be classic gameplay with some new stuff mixed in, this way every fan gets what they want and probably will enjoy the other stuff to. Sonic himself stays classic gameplay with maybe new dashes and the other characters have more innovation to create a new gameplay experience
The Menu music brought me back to me booting up my 3DS. I had a Sonic theme for my Home Screen.
I really like the animation for the vertical springs as he's descending. So many other Mods/ROM Hack/Etc make it weird with the Sonic CD animation of Sonic jumping off screen due to being idle too long.

When Green Hill Zone is not a first level of the game, you know that mod was made by people who are Sonic fans for long long time.
Shadow and Silver look weird when they go super. Like they can’t maintain the form and are struggling to control the power.

Everything's so great about this, from the artwork to the level design. The only thing I found a bit off was the initial walking animation for sonic, it doesn't feel like he's trying to pick up speed there, so maybe change it for the jog. But apart from that it's completely amazing.

Hey, former musician for Sonic Megamix Mania here.
This was the track used for the Metal Sonic fight in an older version of Megamix Mania, taking place in Starry Night zone. It's been years since I've been part of the team, and Metal Sonic has since been removed from the zone, so it's safe to say this track is no longer used.
It is also no longer in Re-Imagined, as I've asked the mod creator to remove this track and my SNZ1 after they were used without my knowledge or permission.
I just love the sprites. Well done!!

The creator has some nerve to put basically twice in the title of this mod that it is an improvement over the original Sonic Mania, and start off with a music of Sonic 4 of all games
This whole mod is not the improvement it's advertised to be. It was literally made using the content of others without approval from their respective creators.

I’m gonna get shit on, but I don’t like how slow it feels, I don’t understand why Ray and Mighty got replaced by mainline characters, and I just feel disappointed looking at it. It has great potential but it doesn’t feel like classic sonic. It does feel like a love letter, but I personally don’t like how it feels. On other notes, it has a certain coat of polish you don’t see in games nowadays that helps it stand out, I just wish that it didn’t feel different, I might just be crazy and the locomotion isn’t different at all but it feels different…

So I legit just got done figuring out how to implement just the save select hud and silver's flying sound effects. I took both of those assets and applied them to the shadow and silver mod you can easily find online. Imo it's the definitive way of having them both in the game. I'm perfectly fine with how the shadow and silver mod plays, just not fine with how they look on the save select screen. The save select rendition of them done for this mod is just far superior imo. It took me a good fucking while to figure out too but omg was it satisfying as all hell. I also prefer the super forms for the shadow and silver mod. Shadow looks like he's glowing red and about to chaos blast and silver glows that nice green color like he's all juiced on psychic powers. Still a big fan by the way. If you or anyone are wondering how to do it, it's not too difficult and I could maybe do a quick vid on it.
I did do that vid if you or anyone happen to be interested. I even go over how to implement the sound from silver when flying that comes from this mod along with implementing shadow and silver icons on the pinball board.
Why does this feel like a mod compilation more than it feels like an actual mod. I feel like I recognize some of these zones. Like Splash Hill, I recognize it from another video not on this mod.

I love the way they added the Tyson Hesse design for all of the sprites to match with the intro and the trailers. (Including Sonic Mania Adventures.)
As much as this mod is really cool I feel like the mod creators don't know how to make a sonic game
First off when making the walking animation yeah it's good to give sonic a personality but you need that bouncy walking build up or else sonic just feels weightless and slow
The original sonic walking animation has a bouncy weighted feel take makes it like he's slowly building momentum and not just gliding on air
Secondly the first zone while is really super cool it's best to not play all your cards instantly, if you do the rest of the game feels empty and bland since you've experienced all this before in a more sandbox area it's a big fault with alot of mods
Honestly that's my problem with mod creators they have great ideas they are seriously talented in making sonic sprites and animations but they don't know the fundamentals of making a "good" sonic game
Meanwhile artist and game Dev's who know about these fundamentals usually refine them to such an extent where the game takes years to complete creating new ideas and gimmicks for each zone without it feeling suffocating best modern example is sonic freedom or sonic and the fallen star
