I had an 83 GJ SE with a 2.0 auto & air. We used it as a paint test car and running around the buildings and carpark. We were told to test paints for a new project (Super Saloon). The car was painted in 2-tone gold and it looked great so I bought the car for $8k in 84. It had a few dents from things being thrown on top of it and a couple bumper bumps from being shoved in a corner of the factory. It was scheduled for destruction and the boss was able to sneak the paperwork through. It was a 1 of 1 build. I sold it in 93 for $3500 on the Gold Coast and it was pretty rusty, blew smoke and rusted out heater core by then. It was never garaged in Adelaide. Too me it was just a cheap car. We got huge employee discounts at Mitsubishi.

I owned a 1985 gk sigma wagon. Loved it. Manilla cream, same interior as yours. The carby was crap, rebuilt it but still never performed. Replaced it with an upgraded one and it ran smoothly after that.

      I love the wagons.
Yeah once I changed the stock carby to the Weber, it transformed the car.

Hey! Yet another nice project, Vinnie! Next time you spray paint rims I’d advice you to use an old deck of cards. You put them in standing up between the tire and the edge of the rim. It will create a wall for you. Of course painting all four would take a little longer with decks of cards.

Hey Nick, I am currently restoring an 84 GK Sigma. How much did you pay for the car? Really interested.

My parents had the 1983 Mitsubishi Gallant/sigma stationwagon in this color. I was a small kid in that time but until this say i found the car always interesting. But here in Holland there’s almost no information to find about this car. I just found one picture of my parents Mitsubishi in a family album. I also don’t know what engine it had. I know it had a sad ending. We where on a camping and my dad already brought the suitcases to the car and put them in. When he left the car some guys broke in the car but when they saw that there was nothing expensive in the suitcases they took a crap in the suitcases and left. My dad was so shocked he couldn’t drive it anymore. So he sold it

That’s is a sad ending. In Australia they were a very common family car. They can with 2.0 and 2.6 litre engine

Curious to know if you used an engine oil flush product before the oil change? Nice job on the wheels!

Can you list out all of the products you use, with affiliate links so you can make a couple of dollars. I need to go HAM on my AE71 to clean it up and your cleanup videos have been really good at showing befores and afters, etc.
