What’s the movie Jack Reacher about?
Ex-military investigator Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) leaps off the pages of Lee Child’s bestselling novel and onto the big screen in the explosive thriller the critics are calling “taut, muscular, gruff and cool”*. When an unspeakable crime is committed, all evidence points to the suspect in custody who offers up a single note in defense: “Get Jack Reacher!”. The law has its limits, but Reacher does not when his fight for the truth pits him against an unexpected enemy with a skill for violence and a secret to keep. Fight scene with no music = PERFECTION
Because it has to rely on just the cinematography and the fight choreography to keep the audience engaged. Having no music is actually a huge disadvantage when making a movie but often times limitations breed creativity.
Wow I can't believe I never noticed before how much better a fight scene is without the background music! 😳 Just makes it feel so much more realistic imo

Tom cuise acted so well in this movie...
You can always count on him to bring his all to each of his roles. He’s one of the most entertaining actors I’ve ever seen.
Nobody's talking about how Anderson didn't even land a single shot on Reacher when he had his pistols set to aim at the middle.
Tom Cruise's plot armor was impenetrable. Also he was shooting from retention at a horrible angle with half his vision at a target suddenly appearing in the rain lol

Reacher rarely lost his cool, but with Charlie, it's all became somewhat personal that he became out of character. Usually Reacher would've shot him dead then & there, but he wanted to hurt him first before sending him to hell

Terrific display of Keysi Fighting Method. Watching all the different moves at play is mesmerizing.
Same fighting style as Batman in Nolan trilogy I believe. Lot of arm and bottom of fist attacks and defensive maneuvers.

I think Tom was really great. The book's Reacher looks ridiculous on film, just look at the new Amazon Reacher series, he's way too big and skilled to be seen struggling fighting some 5.5 feet goon.
That's what I thought. The book and series Reacher are complete Mary Sues.

kinda Mary Sue. The book does more justice than the adaptations tho, in having Reacher always initiate the fights and finish them quickly. The only prison fight that is faithful to the material is the fight in the cell... counting 3, 2... and BAM ! ... The 4v1 in the stalls.. nah....

They clearly stated that he was in the military bases throughout the globe since his childhood and also served in the military and granting a Major rank. So meaning in those adaptations you referring to, Reacher was already an experienced veteran and he had more than 10 years of training on how to kill people from the mentors who could snap your neck without noticing it. Not like that gal from Star Wars who successfully used a jedi trick without training.

First part was nothing special, it's as good as the movie 'Nobody' with better looking cast. I love JW 2 consider it one of greatest action film of all time, a true cinema but 1 was average & 3 was poor. The self aggrandization in JW1 was so extreme it was almost masturbatory.

Sadly, the shooting of the bad guy at the end of this was way too far fetched. Cruise's character had the advantage of shooting from the dark - ( the bad guys would never have seen him because their eyes were adjusted to a low lit room) Cruise's character should have simply backed out into the darkness and shot from a shadowed area, they would have never have seen him.

He is a good choice for this film. Not for being a reacher. The story doesn't need reacher's novel build anyway. So its okay i think. I read some of jack reacher. There are some book that made use of his body build. But not in this particular adaptation.
How the director write this novel is more like a detective movie rather than an action movie.
