No equal to experience. You obviously have some, and thanks for generously sharing it with us cyber-scavengers. Charming little box. But the way you saved it and making the jamb chucks was even better.

Nice save on the little guy.
I haven't cut through the bottom of one yet because I am to scared to get that thin.

I first watched this video when it was published almost three years ago when I first got the turning bug with my first lathe. Now, after watching probably every turning video and channel on TH-cam , I think its safe to say that Robbie has to be one of the finest turners out there. As we come to the end of another year Robbie, I would like to wish you every health and happiness for the new year. I raise my glass to a master...

Hi Robbie, thank you very much for your video. For those who are starting in the woodturning , it is often difficult when you make a mistake and we observe that experienced people, like you, also make their mistakes. Congratulations for showing us how to get around adversity. I would like to thank you for your guidance, even showing the things that don't work out, because that's typical of big people, of people who don't have their vanity registered. I wish you success and a big hug from Brazil and stay with God.

The repair part was as good as making the box . I have two small bowls that i went through the bottom of , So i figured i would put a piece of would back in the bottom and save them I was"nt sure on how to go about it. Thanks to your repair part of the video I have a way to repair them. They were nice pieces of spalted birch. I was kicking my self for going through the bottom. Now i know they are repairable. Thanks for leaving that repair part in.

I don't know why, but I thought of Clementine. Reviewing the lyrics it hadn't been little boxes, but herring boxes, oh, I'm getting old, memory's fading...
Nice rescue of your little "bottomless" box. As you said, the ladies love these boxes, for us it's better they get a bottom, otherwise it'll cost a fortune to fill it with the neat little presents for Valentine's Day.
Thank you for sharing your mistakes, I'd rather call them mishaps, and the fixtures. I think, I do learn the most out of my mistakes, and I am always glad to see other people's mistakes, as they save my wood and leave more room for my own ones. (Forcing one of these little boxes onto a slight tapered and therefor too big jam chuck, the box ended up exploding on me, as soon as I tried to finish the base).
Another great (little) project also for us turners with low end equipment like me.
    Thank you Robbie for sharing.
