It’s because she could actually exist somewhere in the world. A big mean brute of a woman who is the principal of an elementary school, a place that’s normally supposed to be happy and safe. She’s a huge bully, but since she’s an adult instead of a kid, she answers to no one.
Same!!! It’s even harder to believe she’s actually a sweet lady in real life. Shows how incredible she is at acting

It's impossible to see a movie for childs like this nowadays, because it would get R rating and be classified as a horror thriller. We 90's kids are realy special, for receiving this unique opprtunity to be traumatised by Trunchbull in our early days. Lol

The sequel should've been about Matilda settling into a new life with Miss Honey, including the introduction of Miss Honey's boyfriend played by Tom Hanks, only for both of them to discover the horrible truth about Magnus Honey. Imagine Miss Honey finding out her crazy estranged aunt is also a murderer....

Ikr. How come most parents never listen to their kids about stuff like this. It's funny that Harry said that he was smart, big, and right and she was dumb, wrong, and little. He was dead wrong about that. If anything, he got 1 out of 3 correct. She was small in stature, but she made up for it in brain power and courage.

When I was younger, I used to hear the name pronounced as "Trenchbull", not Trunchbull. It makes sense that "Trenchbull" could be the name of her character also, because it basically means that she is a bull from a trench, and that's kind of scary if you think about it.
I wish he didn’t do that to that kitty. It’s so cute, and Miss Tunch made me angry.😡
I am learning about chase scenes in TV Production. I am not learning about this scene, but that was a good chase scene. Producer Danny DeVito knew that Ms. Trunchbull would easily catch both Ms. Honey and Matilda, so he had it done unconventionally with the chaser searching, instead of running after them on foot.

I would’ve Mara Wilson to have given a fact about this scene, in her interview, ‘Matilda Turns 25!” Because I’ve often wondered how they filmed the part where Miss Trunchbull kicks the cat in the air! Would it have been an actual cat, or just a stunt. Either way, the cat was sooo cute.
What about when Miss Trunchbull was lifting up her car to turn it back around?

I first saw this movie when I was 4, and I don't know about everyone else here, but this scene didn't traumatize me at all. Probably because I knew nothing bad was gonna happen.
