I really like your ideas for changing the game. I think I would want to see a blackout puzzle where maybe Nancy has to move around in the dark or something. I could also totally hear her saying some quip about having to fix that window again when she has to break in haha
See and I'm not so upset about the chores and puzzles 'cause I just like the puzzles enough to not be bothered it's a chore simulator. I like the house setting enough, like it's just homey that it's like a comfort game for me.
The one thing that I would change about this game is that Nancy is extremely insensitive to Pa by asking him a lot of hard questions about Ma. You think that someone who lost her mother when she was young would know better.
So much more sinister and with stats! Love it! 1. I didn't know about the individual cell walls for the mouse traps, so they took some thinking. I didn't mind it, since unlike the horrible picture frame puzzle in game 23, it was doable and humane pest control is sooo satisfying as an adult. 2. The transmission puzzle was just cruel. No way I'd have continued this game after that as a child, the intended audience. 3. Your version solved all my issues with the game. I'm from the Midwest and a faculty brat, so it hurts how much potential this game had. Six more months would have done wonders. The characters don't really talk to Nancy about each other, that would have added so much. A cornfield maze would have been on point too albeit difficult and not scenic. Knee high by the Fourth of July but no terrifying blind four way stops for Nancy 😅
This is one that my littlest nephew was able to do a lot of on his own, which he was crazy proud of, but also goes to confirm how low stakes it is so I’d be down for a bit more tornadoes and chaos!
Sounds great! I like how you described something Herinteractive would actually do, if they had just structured things a little differently. You fixed so many problems like Nancy focusing on chores instead of actually following up on clues, timeline issues, Nancy continually asking “Where’s Ma?” (although that is a pretty funny joke at this point) and made it actually scary!
I completely agree with what you did to overhaul the story, though I keep all of the changes you made but I'd also try to find a way to incorporate the old confrontation with Scott at the end of the game into your new version, it was so good we can't scrap that.
I kind of love this game. It's just so vibey. I'm from Colorado and there's something so nostalgic about tornado weather, as weird as it sounds. It reminds me of being a kid, playing outside with my sister in the sun all day until we were exhausted, coming inside to play on the computer and then when our hour on the computer was up, looking outside to see that the sky had filled with big, dark clouds and the rain had begun. Our mom would turn on the news and watch for funnels as rain pattered the windows. But the tornadoes we get so close to the mountains are almost never very dangerous, so those memories are all just memories of being with family indoors, listening to the rain and feeling sleepy from the weather and from having spent all morning playing in the sun. None of that has anything to do with the puzzles or plot of this game. I just love this game because I love the feeling of doing random quiet tasks inside, happy and exhausted from a morning outdoors, keeping one ear on the weather channel while rain quenches the dry air.
I feel the same way about Trail of the Twister that I do about Kapu Cave. It's objectively a bad game for so many reasons but subjectively I still enjoy it lol. But THIS game omg I wish it was real!! How long do you spend to come up with these amazing plot lines? It would take me forever to think of stuff like this but you're so good at it
You are so right, not enough twisters!! I don't hate Trail of the Twister as it is, but your version sounds so much better! I might actually keep some of the driving puzzle. So much fun just crashing into other cars. Memories for years to come. 🤣🤣🤣
This game is just so cozy and nostalgic! Not sure why other people rate it so low on the bottom of all the ND games. I would take this one, with all its downfalls, over MID any day lol! Thanks again for the video Caitlyn ! P.S Hope you are enjoying my poetry book
These might be my favorites of your videos! I know you're probably only planning on making these for games you dislike, but I think it would be cool to analyze some of the more beloved games as well! I mean, it's not like they're all perfect, right? All of them could be improved...maybe... Although tbh the only thing I'd change about my favorite games would be to make them 2x longer lol
I love this game! Yeah, it’s chore/puzzle heavy, but it’s in my top 16 and Pa and Chase redeem this game for me. And Ma’s death from a tornado makes them dangerous, not boring.
23:50 This is what I don't understand. If Nancy and Debbie were both looking at the files, wouldn't Scott go for both of them? I just don't understand why he takes Nancy but leaves Debbie behind
I remember watching other content creators got frustrated playing county siren chart puzzle cuz even a single small pixel that wasnt covered meant an incomplete puzzle 😅 I totally agree that Pa is the only interesting character 😌 the actual suspects which are the storm chasers are boring
What a cool idea! This game definitely needed higher stakes like you said, and to be scarier. I mean, it's tornadoes! Since you mentionned it, I'd love a Labyrinth of Lies redo. I've got a masters in Ancient Greek literature, so you can imagine my dissappointment in the game. Why title it after the labyrinth and yet make the game follow a myth that has nothing to do with the greek labyrinth, and have no labyrinth puzzle??? (Also the Persephone myth is overdone and imo it's irresponsible and problematic to try to tone down the myth's inherent sxxual violence to family friendly levels.) Also, I've worked in a museum in Greece, and trust me there's no way the museum would ever have the space or funding for that insane set, not to mention building underground so close to that theatre would be near impossible, they're very strict about disrupting ruins. I do like the antiquities smuggling angle tho, because that is genuinely a real problem right now. Oh and some *modern* Greek culture mixed in wouldve been nice (gyro cooking puzzle?)
Funnily enough, I also have a video talking about everything I would change in Labyrinth of Lies as well!! :D It's in the Nancy Drew analysis playlist if you want to check it out: th-cam.com/video/siqjOt4_Q5g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=X-q4zn4mMv9gTAyD
I need WK version of this game immediately. 1000% times more engaging and fun. The characters have more purpose and Nancy actually gets to be a storm chaser (in peril).
I’m so upset this is not how the game actually is because this sounds so amazing 😭
I'm so glad you like this version!! :)
THANK YOU for mentioning how low stakes this game is! Sometimes I forget tornadoes are even involved! I LOVED your version!
Right?! I want DANGER.
I agree. They say conditions are right for a number crop of tornadoes, but we only see like 3 and from far away.
HER needs to hire you because this is INCREDIBLE. I want to play this version!!
Aww, thank you so much!!
I really like your ideas for changing the game. I think I would want to see a blackout puzzle where maybe Nancy has to move around in the dark or something. I could also totally hear her saying some quip about having to fix that window again when she has to break in haha
LOL, yes!! Excellent ideas!

The one thing that I would change about this game is that Nancy is extremely insensitive to Pa by asking him a lot of hard questions about Ma. You think that someone who lost her mother when she was young would know better.
Yeah, she really doesn't let it go even though Pa clearly doesn't want to talk about it!
So much more sinister and with stats! Love it!

Kudos to your nephew!! There are a couple puzzles in this that I really struggle!

I can definitely relate to liking a game much more purely because of the vibes! They play a huge role!
I feel the same way about Trail of the Twister that I do about Kapu Cave. It's objectively a bad game for so many reasons but subjectively I still enjoy it lol. But THIS game omg I wish it was real!! How long do you spend to come up with these amazing plot lines? It would take me forever to think of stuff like this but you're so good at it
This one was definitely a several hours project!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
You are so right, not enough twisters!! I don't hate Trail of the Twister as it is, but your version sounds so much better! I might actually keep some of the driving puzzle. So much fun just crashing into other cars. Memories for years to come. 🤣🤣🤣
Crashing is awfully fun 😂

P.S Hope you are enjoying my poetry book
Oh yes, definitely still better than MID!! And yes, your poetry book is incredible!

That's pretty much the only change I'd make for my favorites too 😅
As Arglefumph says “Nancy does everyone else’s chores cliché”
This game is definitely the epitome of that!! XD
Congrats on 3K subscribers! 🎉 It's always great to see your channel hit a new milestone.
Thank you so much!!
It's perfect! Now if only they'll do a remaster!
If only!!
I want to play this version right now!
Always love your ideas! Sounds like an amazing game
Thank you!! I'm so glad you liked it!
I LOVED your storyline.
Yay!! I'm so happy to hear that!
I'd fix Trail of the Twister by bundling it in a Double Dare pack with Creature of Kapu Cave, so it would be the best one in the pack.
Lol, that's a good work around!
her interactive needs to hire you fr !!!
Aww, thank you so much!!
I love this game! Yeah, it’s chore/puzzle heavy, but it’s in my top 16 and Pa and Chase redeem this game for me. And Ma’s death from a tornado makes them dangerous, not boring.
Pa's story is definitely the redeeming light in this game! I think it deserved a lot more attention!
This is incredible! They should hire you!
Thank you!! I'm so glad you liked it!

I like the exciting beginning ❤️ there is even a cooking puzzle in ur version & there is no annoying driving
I've definitely been stuck on the siren puzzle for far too long before, lol!
Can you do this for all the other ND games I think they all deserve a bit of a tweek and fix to them
I have plans to do it for The Shattered Medallion and Midnight in Salem at the very least!
Her needs to remaster into this!
Yay! I'm so glad you like it!!
woof! This was one boring game! Congrats on the big 3K, Kitten!! 🥳
Thank you so much!!

Honestly I put Midnight in Salem over this game, cause I forget this game exists. I'd rather have a game I remember than a forgettable one
Definitely fair! That's such a problem for this game...it's really forgettable!
I need WK version of this game immediately. 1000% times more engaging and fun. The characters have more purpose and Nancy actually gets to be a storm chaser (in peril).
