    Hey Michael, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) :) Cheers, Felix

    Always amazes me how much debris these things wash down with them.

      The big one through town with the damage to property. Other drainage through the undeveloped desert will flow like this a lot...and no one outside of locals and a few tourists even know.

      This has all been confused because you asked the same question on two videos...lol...the date is usually the upload date...sometimes the day before

    they should have a series of dams that can slow it down and retain huge amounts of water. Like swales, they could store water and let it soak into the ground

    • @mikegrindstaff
      @mikegrindstaff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That isn't really possible for this amount of flow...we do have small structures like you speak of...however...with the amount of sediment in the flash floods those low flow zones fill with sand in minutes.

    It’s kinda scary how fast it happens. Be safe.

    • @mikegrindstaff
      @mikegrindstaff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It might be scary if you didn't know it was coming...but you can see that I could clearly even out walk the headwall of this flood. It seems fast, but you can easily go from one bridge to the next in town and have to wait for the flood. Assuming it won't go up more is how people die. Just like anything else there is some safety in knowledge and experience.

      @@mikegrindstaff "It might be scary if you didn't know it was coming..." That's what I'm talking about. Imagine way more water in the middle of the night. I've seen footage that may make you crap your pants.

    Yes, it's cool. But it is nothing to laugh at. Come on people, this is seriously dangerous for anyone caught in a canyon.

    • @mikegrindstaff
      @mikegrindstaff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well...we have lots of floods really...and very rarely do people die and when they do...its almost always because it was obvious they shouldn't be there, but were ignorant of the risks.
