  • Vattenfallen vid Göta Älv i Trollhättan.
-In 2022, the water will be released on: Wednesday-Sunday during the period
    June 15 - August 14 at 3 p.m.
-The falls in Trollhättan are the highest and most powerful in any river in Southern Sweden; nowhere does a river cut through the landscape in such a dramatic way as it does here. However, since the water is held back by the sluice gates, it is not until these gates are opened that the true intensity and power comes to life.

Great video. I live about half a mile down the river from a dam in Ireland. They sequence things a bit differently. When I was a kid they'd sound the alarm and open the gates five minutes later. You had five minutes to get out of the river if you were fishing or swimming. If you were on the bank you were ok, but you'd just have to watch as the water may rise above the bank a few minutes after the current picked up. It wouldn't move that fast so you'd just move back when it started to rise. A few years ago a guy from outside the area was nearly killed (with his kids) when he didn't recognise the alarm. Now they leave it down at 1/4 speed for the first 20 minutes. Much more sensible I think. The alarm sounds like an air raid siren, but if you're not from the area, I can understand that you mightn't know what the hell it was. 1/4 speed gives you a chance to figure that out! Moral of the story - if you're ever in a river anywhere in the world and you hear a strange alarm, get out, it might be a dam!

The drop is only for the purpose of locating tourists to Trollhättan. Otherwise, the water is there to create electricity in the power stations Olidan and Hojum power station. Before global warming began, there was about 2,000 meters of ice here. When it began to melt away about 11,000 years ago, this fall was formed, which still testifies to the forces that the ice brought with it. Thomas.

@@ThomasIsheim There have been 27 " Global warming's " that they know of, and 27 ice ages, from ice core samples in Greenland and other Geologic evidence. People are so ignorant acting like humans are to blame. The earth & sun are going to go through their cycles no matter what humans do...Fantastic video by the way!!!
