  • Day 13, Trans Labrador and East Coast Motorcycle Adventure
Today, our Motorcycle Adventure takes us to on the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia for some moto camping over looking the ocean.
This day thirteen of our Adventure Motorcycle tour across the Trans Labrador Highway and across the East Coast of Canada and it was great!
Today we find ourselves in Nova Scotia. We took the overnight ferry from a rainy Newfoundland and arrived in a hot and sunny North Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Despite the smooth crossing of the Cabot Straight, I did not sleep well. I cannot complain because we had a cabin, and I wasn't sleeping in a chair or on the floor.
We met 3 other bikers at the terminal (George from Port Perry, ON and Serge and Sylvain from Sorell, QC) and we agreed to ride together today. Sylvain had been to Cape Breton several times and had an idea of where he wanted to eat breakfast and lunch. Both choices were excellent. We had lunch at Morrison's just past Neil's Harbour. I had lobster for lunch, and it was fantastic!
The riding today is almost indescribable. The Cabot Trail has a combination of winding and twisty roads that go up and down mountains with brilliant views of coves, bays and the ocean. Amazing x10!
We made many stops for photos along the way to our destination, Meat Cove, which is at the most northern tip of Cape Breton. We are camping in the breath-taking Meat Cove Campground. It is breath taking for the views and for the slope from our campsite to the services!
An added bonus of being here is that the Campground is home to Lawless Lobster, a seafood-food truck. I didn't eat there but both of the food critics with me gave it two thumbs up.
Spike and I walked down to the beach and stood in the Atlantic Ocean. It wasn't cold like Lake Superior but it was too cold to go swimming.
I saw a puffin flying to her nest with a large fish in her beak. Too cool. Our neighbours at the Campground reported seeing whales from their site yesterday. Fingers crossed for that!
Thankfully, the weather looks promising again tomorrow as we head towards Truro.
Today's summary is, great riding, on great roads and great meal breaks with new friends.
I will sleep well with the sounds of the ocean playing the soundtrack to my dreams.
    Good night from Nova Scotia!

Cabot Trail ride in the Fall is second to none. One of the best rides that I have ever done.

It was great in the spring but I imagine that the Cabot Trail in fall colours would be magical!
      Thanks for watching!
