- Hello everyone!
I finally release the update that I have been working on for over 1.5 years.
The main focus of my work was on remaking, improving and polishing every already existing aspect of the game, and providing a base for adding more content in the future. I didn't set-up a good enough foundation for it when I began the development, due to lack of experience, but now I think it is pretty decent.

WARNING: Unfortunately, as hard as I tried, due to reasons currently outside of my reach, I can not fix a few critical crashes in the game, mainly in multiplayer, right now. I will solve them for the next updates.

Most notable changes:
Added a new version of the South Lands map.
Speed Stingers have been added.
They are very fast on ground, and can accelerate themselves even more for a limited time. They can paralyze creatures with their tail stings, can run on water, and are very dangerous dragons, despite the inability to fly.
Improved the skin editor.
Maximum skin resolution has been increased, allowing you to draw more detailed skins. They will be automatically downscaled in-game, when needed.
A lot of useful features have been added to it, some of which are:
Symmetry mode
Color eyedropper
Color can be picked through RGB or HEX code. Also, a history of last used colors is now recorded.
Colored brushes
Undo/Redo history
Normal/specular/roughness/metallic/displacement map generation and more control over the underlying default texture.
Automatic backups
And many other improvements and additions. Try them yourself in-game!
(Thanks to our Discord server members Twist and Alicornbrodie for these skins).
Expanded the character customization system.
You now can modify your dragon's default voice pitch, and more body parts are customizable. For example, you can now color each eye differently.
Added a new powerful system for modifying the default dragon body colors, or skin colors, to some extent, without having to repaint anything in the skin editor.
A new movement system. While still far from perfect, it provides a more natural, unrestrained movement on ground and more control over it, ability to climb obstacles and steep surfaces, to some extent, directed jumps, and other improvements. I tried to improve movement in the air slightly too.
More sounds have been added for most interactions. Footsteps, splashes, breath, fire, dragon-specific roars and growls, ambient effects and many more.
New head/neck rotation system has been implemented, now with less restrains. Improved the first person view mode for more immersion.
Added a new gameplay settings system. You can now modify most of the game rules here, to adjust gameplay to your liking, or to experiment with some crazy things.
Like sinking the whole map, making the weather extreme, enabling PvE mode for players or disabling/enabling certain gameplay mechanics and dragon abilities, changing balance and much more.
Added a server description interface.
Improved the fire system. Fire breath is more natural, illuminates surroundings, and is no longer hitscan. Fires have been made more natural too, in every aspect.
Save/load system now works much better, retaining most of the game state on load.
Also,
- More console commands, for administrators, for players, and for convenience and fun, including a few commands for RP.
- Improved the UI everywhere, convenience and appearance-wise. New icons have been added for many things.
- Improved the graphics.
- The game has been optimized in as many areas as I could. There is still a lot of room for optimization, but it will be very hard and require lots of time and a better PC on my side.
- More support for interactivity with most objects in the game world (but it is still barren, as I didn't focus on it yet).
- Improved the AI.
- Fixed a TON of bugs and issues.

I can't wait to fully experience what this update has to offer. To be so well-detailed, so dynamic, all in such an early phase already... I don't know if I can imagine how incredible it'll be when done. A long, long, long time from now, I know, but it'll be well worth the wait.

Adding details (to the extent of my skills) is my passion, and a main headache :D
I have many dreams and goals about this project's future, that will require a ton more work, but due to my maybe not the best decisions and foolish overwork, I currently pushed myself into a state where my development efficiency fell down, along with my mental and physical state, and I really need financial support to reset, feels some confidence at last, and continue development. I basically have zero money, my savings from my first ever job are gone, and I live on parents' help.
I couldn't force myself to start asking for money until I recoded the project to ensure a better future possibility for it.
We will see how the Patreon will go.

I totally understand the feeling of getting passionate to the point of exhausting your energy, but when it stops being enjoyable is when you need to give yourself a rest. A game waited for is eventually good, a rushed game is bad forever. Take your time, enjoy and ride on the passionate motivation, but efficiency is key; and that comes with your mental health. Thank you so much for all your effort on this game. I just know it'll be great.

A game with an extensive storyline and open world from the HTTYD universe is my dream game! I hope it will come true someday :)
Storyline is not planned, even though I dreamed of it as a teen too. I just won't be able to implement it with the resources that I have.
I have only just finished the more or less good foundation for the game, and now urgently need funds to be able to continue developing.
Honestly, at the moment, all my further dreams are stopped by this uncertainty.

Hey, after years of trying to find this game when I was 7, I found it when I was 11. Thank you for an amazing memory that I will never forget. I became a dragon lover since I was 6 and saw "httyd1" the animations are so good that I'm here shocked. It would be good if you would give a few tutorials on how to download the game to play in multiplayer, or if someone can help me to do that. Much love, and once again, thank you. The years were worth it.

Ngl i completely forgot this game existed. It looks really good though from when I last saw it! There's still some flaws here and there but its still something to look forward to and I can't wait to see where it goes!

My fault though, for going almost silent (entirely silent on TH-cam) for almost 2 years.
Had a hard time, and had to recode almost the entire project, to try to actually make a good game in the future.
Should have posted at least some videos about what's going on, even if there was little content to show, and should have opened Patreon much sooner.

No universe has dragons like Httyd, but the only decent game with those dragons has been SoD. This game looks like it's going to add a whole new experience to Dragon Gameplay!

I feel like there's a lot more diversity in the appearance of HtTYD dragons

Поражаюсь вашими способностями вы создали просто прекрасную игру да ещё и безплатную. За всё прошедшое время с обновление я в неё играла и заметила всего 2 бага в игре. 1 когда заходишь в пещеру то дракон начинает смотреть в одну точку и его голову не как не повернуть. 2 при действие яда скорожала когда дракон замерает и ты наченаешь его атакавать на левую кнопку мыши есть довольно большая вероятность что он провалится под карту ведь его откидывает.
Буду надеятся что потом в игру добавят смертохвата это будет просто божественно

This is such a cool game! But I highly recommend changing the camera. The wha it is now makes me feel a bit nauseous when watching it.
You may disable the "smooth camera" option in the game settings. It might help.

It mostly took so long because I had to re-code basically most of the project. The code I wrote when it was just a hobby, and I was a beginner, couldn't support the project's growth...
Now I just need to ensure that I am able to continue to that growth.

Wooow! The progress is huge, all those new gameplay things, deep systems like wall climbing, water running, animation rules are the most difficult things in game creating in my opinion. This means the hardest part is over or at least half way. You made incredible work! Love you ^ ^ I promise I'll donate you.

Thank you! Yes, after the code/project rework that I have been working on for the last 1.5-2 years, many of the hardest parts are now done, even if far from perfect.
I really need funds, tbh. Literally my sanity and health depends on getting "enough" in a near time.

The light fury isn’t in the game yet. There was someone in the discord who WAS making a light fury model but that person has left the team while also taking the light fury model with them sadly.

This new update is absolutely amazing and i finally got to play the game again after the crashing thing (i didnt know how to fix it.. Did tell me how but still didnt know) now i just have to somehow make my frame rate go up bc my laptop is old and its frame rate on the game is 3-7 (even on low settings its still very laggy)

Please help. I downloaded the game file, extracted it, downloaded the installer and it just keeps loading on the configuration page of the installer. It has 0 on the progress bar. I ended the process and tried again and it does the same thing. Any ideas? I have windows 7 64 bit

Окружение стало просто бомбическим, за исключением гор, а модельки и анимации… ух, смотреть больно на эти вывихи суставов и резиновость. Но надеюсь, в будущем, это все исправится и станет во много раз лучше.

Я полностью делал код проекта, анимации как сделал ~3-4 года назад, так и не трогал больше. Не до этого.
Сейчас наконец довел проект до состояния, в котором уже можно более-менее двигаться дальше, а затем и команду хорошую попробовать собрать.
Но очень нужны средства. Просто катастрофически.
Читающие - если есть возможность, подумайте о том чтобы поддержать на патреоне.
The dragon animation looks very stiff, i think you need to add just one keyframe to make it much better (in the middle when wings are going up, just fold them). I made a dragon animation yesterday for my game and it really needed just this one keyframe :D

The thing is, I never focused on animations, after I first made them about 4+ years ago.
Reworking the models/animations is planned, for a long time now, but I was too occupied with reworking the code (that I wrote when I was a beginner, and it was too restricting and overall awful).

Will this game be a open world game in the future like with dragon trainers and you can tame dragons? as that would be good also you could charge like $40 on steam or epic games stuff like that so its official and so you make money out of it.
