    I was looking for a different way to cook my pork shoulder other than the "Spanish/Pernil" way. I found this one and it sounded good and easy with a slow cooker. Wow! it was Wonderful and my family loved it. Only thing is my hubby loves the fat part really crisp (he's Spanish) so I sliced it off the meat, I seared the meat and the fat part all around and I followed your recipe except for the orange since I didn't have one, just used lemon and a little orange juice from the carton, I figure its close enough. Once done I took the fat skin off and put it in the oven for 1/2 hour at 400 degrees till it crisp and the rest is history. My hubby even helped with the dishes. That was my bonus! Thank you Ms. Rivas!! 😁😁😁

    • @ProjectExMachina
      @ProjectExMachina 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Victor R. After 8 hours in a slow cooker, most of the fat has been rendered and it is in the liquid. That what is on in the meat is mostly collagen. If you are not afraid of fat then you can reduce that liquod and make divine gravy/sauce.

    Awesome..I put the fruit in the crock on bottom tho..after squeezing juice over roast..so much more tender.meat absorbs the nutrients out of the Rhine. Yummmmyyyy

    I've made this multiple times, and it was great. The only difference is the quality of the ingredients I have available - but always really good. Great job! Oh, and it is easily Keto friendly if you avoid regular tortillas and use a healthy base for serving.

    Tried your recipe tonight, minor variations based on what I had on hand. It's not the flavor I'm looking for (which has mysterious ingredients, alas!) but my husband and I both enjoyed your recipe very much. We seared the meat in the juices it was sitting in and it really emphasized the seasonings you used. Thank you for the video. :)

    Browing or searing the chunk of meat on a skillet before putting in crock pot saves. Alot of time

    Looks good but if you add the whole orange it taste way better. I add dry peppermint,2 bay leafs. When done spread on cookie sheet and broil for 5 to 10 minutes. Served with fresh corn tortillas, pico de gallo and a fresh salsa
