I've waited three years for this record, I can't believe I was in Grade Eight when I was blasting Unto The Locust weeks after school started. Now, in Grade Twelve, and here I am finally getting a new album after three years.... Love Machine Head!
I'm currently in year 10, and every day walking to and from school, going out I always put on some Machine Head. Halo completely overwhelms me and the entire Unto the locust album is perfection! Machine head have to be one of the best bands around!
Me too, in metal. So what's the word on the new In Flames? I personally love the more melodic aspect, fresh! Slipknots new shits killer to me too, but seems most people dont dig new shit from ANYONE unless it's deathy as hell...what do Machinehead fans think? seems you people are a little more intelligent than slipknot or in flames fans...
ant hope Personally, not a fan of Slipknot. The whole mallcore aspect of their music is old by now. I've grown past that. In Flames, however, they've got a good thing going, even if it's not melodeath. EDIT: My opinion on the new In Flames album has since changed. I'm very irritated that In Flames thought it was a good idea to abandon their old fans and sell out like they did. Sure, go ahead and do that, but for god's sake be honest about it.
Pitwulf don't get pissy with me. I am just telling you the reason. You don't hear the bass much in a mix so when you do it is noticeable and cool. It's not really my opinion I am just telling you the reason though
"The damned are we, abused and beat. We're left for dead, we raise our head for we are strong and they are wrong. Well scream with me "I do believe". I need your help, for I have knelt, held fist at skies and cried out "why". Your shoulder strength, it gives me length. We lift ourselves, together meld so take my hand, and don't look back, and say with me "let new life be". Old life goodbye, and now we die for we are one; forever young." Favorite part of this song.
Idk why people are bashing this song so hard, As someone who loved most of MH's albums and wasn't too into Locust, this song just goes hard right after the nice atmospheric violin play. It's literarlly blasting in the car worthy at 0:28
This actually sounds like where 'This Is Who We Are' left off, especially w/ the violins. And people, stop bashing violins. Violins are classical instruments. Classical was the original heavy music. Evolve out of your closed mindedness already. MH have better things to do than to hear your unconstructive criticism.
Yeah agreed its like every single macine head song that is the last song on the album is continued on the first on the first record to me personally but over all, agreed and ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY MACHINE HEAD!!!!!!
So many "hardcore" metal heads complain about bands not staying true to their roots. Machine head has definitely stayed true all of these years. Dont let small changes/trying new things make you lose your mind lol or else they will end up releasing the same song over and over. And then ppl will complain about that too.... Machine Head plays at huge events AND continues to come to the small venues here in Philly. Keep doing your thing guys!
I mean it's not a bad song but I've been expecting more killer riffs and machine head iconic harmonics than this. Looking forward to Bloodstone & Diamonds tho. One of the best metal band out there.
Dylan Rollins I wouldn't say filler song, the song is not that bad (at least in my opinion), there is just that lack of awesome guitar melodies that bothers me a little.
I never thought The Blackening could be beaten...Then Unto The Locust came out and it blew everything away. It sounds like Bloodstone & Diamonds is going to be even more amazing. Machine fucking Head, you've done it again!
This is the best Machine Head song every recorded! Awesome job to all of you! Can't wait to see you live again in Milwaukee at the Rave. You guys should totally come without an opener again. That was awesome!
Not only one of my favorite bands but a significant Influence on my band. Our songs are a little on the lengthy side but we naturally write that way just like MH they do what is natural and it's fucking incredible! I can only hope we could be half as successful as they are. They are like a fine fucking wine they getter better with age I love this band so much.
I've been a fan of this band since the beginning and have never hated an album, always impressed by the shear power this band produces and this new material sounds amazing!!! MACHINE FUCKING HEAD!!!!
Thanks guys for holding the flame as one of the few good metal bands that didn't sell out. It's nice seeing that even tough you guys were pissed (completely understandable), you guys took it in stride like you did. Seeing you guys at the white river amphitheater for the 2011 Rockstar mayhem tour, still one of my favorite pit memories. As a proud and loyal fan, thank you for all your efforts to entertain!
actually, they did "sell out" with The Burning Red and Supercharger, even though I hate this term, I prefer "experiment", and it's their right, even though I prefer a lot more the modern stuff than the nu metal era.
This makes me feel younger, actually. When I look back to 2008, the year I discovered MH, I always think "wow, it seems to be a long time, but it's been barely 2 MH albums more". Then, if you count in Motörhead albums... THEN YOU FEEL OLD
Screw those who think this is shit!!!! do you think machine head do music thinking in you?? they do it because THEY like and they make music that they are going to like, they innovated, this is awsome, and I bet none of you would do better neither me, all we as fans have to do is SUPPORT, not criticate!!! Damn you!!!
MH has been and will always be a center staple in Metal.. they have gotten nowhere near the credit they deserve from America. Best live band ever I might add
I think Machine Head continue the legacy of Pantera but with their own unique way...More epic, more thrashy way but full with killing riffs and flawless atmosphere!!!Thumbs up my dear Rob!!!!
When I listen for the first time Machine Head, I was to a Metallica's live and they were the opening group. Now they are my favourite metal band. Machine Head, you deserve more of this, but I fuckin love your music and I wait with anxiety to "Bloodstone and Diamonds" Love u.
In the tradition of great opening MH tracks like Davidian, Imperium, Ten Ten Hammer, I Am Hell and Clenching The Fists Of Dissent, this one fits right in.
Holy fuck! This song displays the epitome of why I listen to heavy metal/thrash. Hearing stuff like this for the first time makes me want to start moshing around my house until everything I own is broken and my neighbors think I'm completely insane.
Is it sad that I know all the words already? xD Love these guys and this song is awesome. Will be seeing you guys Birmingham Dec 18th, CANNOT WAIT. *MACHINE F**KING HEAD*.
I'm old enough to remember Machine Head when they first broke into the scene. Those first two albums were immense, but barring a few bright spots like 'Imperium' they have just become a band that's very hard to care about. Flynn managing to dispose of every other original member played a part in that. Still, the first band I ever saw live supporting Slayer. Those were such great times.
AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Machine-Fuckin'-Head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Machine Head is one of those rare bands that give me goosebumps everytime I hear their music.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better than the Blackening and Unto the Locust, you guys release this masterpiece of metal. Outdone yourselves. This might be my favorite MH song, and I have a lot of them. On a scale 1 to 5 (best), 10!
Loving the Strings in this. I remember Rob saying that more songs on this album will have strings on them. I love that. I look forward to the album, but it's gonna be hard to top the last one.
I will be at the store in November purchasing this album. WOW. Unto the Locusts was chalk full of talent and this one seems even better. Lyrics too. Great job MH.
I've waited three years for this record, I can't believe I was in Grade Eight when I was blasting Unto The Locust weeks after school started. Now, in Grade Twelve, and here I am finally getting a new album after three years....
Love Machine Head!
That's four years.
Thanks now I feel old lol
Jesus, now I fell old. I saw them for the first time at Donnington '95
Damn I remember driving around blasting Unto the Locust my senior year of HS...now I feel old....
I'm currently in year 10, and every day walking to and from school, going out I always put on some Machine Head. Halo completely overwhelms me and the entire Unto the locust album is perfection! Machine head have to be one of the best bands around!
And this is why Machine Head is my favorite band ;)
Mine too!
Me too, in metal. So what's the word on the new In Flames? I personally love the more melodic aspect, fresh! Slipknots new shits killer to me too, but seems most people dont dig new shit from ANYONE unless it's deathy as hell...what do Machinehead fans think? seems you people are a little more intelligent than slipknot or in flames fans...
ant hope I am all for more music in my collection
slipknot and in flames included I am not an elitist
ant hope Personally, not a fan of Slipknot.
I like System of a Down more but this is my second favorite band
Machine Head NEVER disappoints!!!!One of the greatest bands of all time!
supercharger.......they do disappoint lol
missscarling
I actually really like Supercharger and I don't get the hate for it. The Burning Red was pretty meh though. :D
missscarling So far Supercharger is the only bad record that Machine Head has released.
Supercharger is indeed mediocre overall (a few great tunes on it).
All the rest varies from great to pure genius.
The only good thing on The Burning Red is the chorus of The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears.
Everything besides this just sounds lame and generic to me.
The bridge gave me goosebumps. The goosebumps I got when I heard Darkness Within for the first time. This is bloody excellent.
Yeah, it's excellent!
Damn, that fucking bridge when the violins slowly come through. What a track, along with Killers and Kings.
Always the best ! Keep rocking for our pleasure...
4:22 My face has been melted
Dat bass. The guitar draws attention, naturally, but ... dat bass.
Schwarzgold The bass isn't doing anything interesting...
Pitwulf Yeah it is. It is cutting through pretty well and you can hear it well if you have ears at least.
The Zerk Yeah no shit you can hear it well, that doesn't make it an awesome bassline. Or is being able to hear the bass already so awesome for you?
Pitwulf don't get pissy with me. I am just telling you the reason. You don't hear the bass much in a mix so when you do it is noticeable and cool. It's not really my opinion I am just telling you the reason though
Another perfect song. Thank you guys.
Amazing song..
Vintage MH.. Can't wait for the whole album. Always awesome guitar work in their songs!!
Can't wait!!!!
Bloodstone and diamonds fuckin rules!
Phil Demmel's soloing continues to impress me with his tasteful and tasty licks. Robb's no slouch either. Those two together are killing it.
Idk why people are bashing this song so hard, As someone who loved most of MH's albums and wasn't too into Locust, this song just goes hard right after the nice atmospheric violin play. It's literarlly blasting in the car worthy at 0:28
The violins at the beginning are amazing. And when Robb instantly shouts just makes it so much more epic! What an intro!
This is fucking awesome, the strings definitely add something unique. Makes it sound even bigger
Machine Head. Gracias por vuestra música y por venir a España.
Of course they bash... Its just unfitting.
Yeah agreed its like every single macine head song that is the last song on the album is continued on the first on the first record to me personally but over all, agreed and ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY MACHINE HEAD!!!!!!
this is the best Machine Head song since years.... that combination of typical MH guitar sounds + strings... PURE EPICNESS!
Standing at the edge of the world!!! MfH for life!!! \m/
Those violins almost give me goosebumps, what a great song..
Great track. Loving the fact the strings are getting even more involved. The peaks and troughs keep this song interesting throughout.
Fine wine and great metal bands, just keep getting better with age. This is a fantastic song, I can see it being one of my Machine Head favourites.
Harmonics kick ass THATS MH signature stamp on shit
That was a great piece. Cheerz from Syria \m/
If the remainder of Bloodstone & Diamonds is as epic as this track, Supercharger just MIGHT be forgivable.
This is just brutal, the slowed down part towards the end is just epic. So much passion in this band!
I mean it's not a bad song but I've been expecting more killer riffs and machine head iconic harmonics than this. Looking forward to Bloodstone & Diamonds tho. One of the best metal band out there.
Feel kinda the same. Guitars are not as amazing as usual, still a great song. The violins give an epic atmosphere through the chorus.
To me this really sounds like a filler song, but the solo's pretty sweet, and they seem to be going in the right direction
Dylan Rollins I wouldn't say filler song, the song is not that bad (at least in my opinion), there is just that lack of awesome guitar melodies that bothers me a little.
NEVER EXPECT, ALWAYS ACCEPT. Expectations will always fuck you up. And not just to do with music.
SirCrappington Yeah I suppose the main problem for me is that it's not very distinctive
Excellent, recording at Jingletown Studios definitely paid off, sounds amazing. Very natural.
I never thought The Blackening could be beaten...Then Unto The Locust came out and it blew everything away.
It sounds like Bloodstone & Diamonds is going to be even more amazing. Machine fucking Head, you've done it again!
There is nothing better than having this song full blast with a good sound system in the car or Killers & Kings.....NOTHING!!!!
Machine head kicks ass, can't want until the tour.
This is the best Machine Head song every recorded! Awesome job to all of you! Can't wait to see you live again in Milwaukee at the Rave. You guys should totally come without an opener again. That was awesome!
Machine head is pure genius!!!! They literally get better with every album. Come back to california again!!! Love me some live Machine Head!!!!
And this is why they are one of the best bands of all time.
the fact that this is a christian song makes it 100x better
Not only one of my favorite bands but a significant Influence on my band. Our songs are a little on the lengthy side but we naturally write that way just like MH they do what is natural and it's fucking incredible! I can only hope we could be half as successful as they are. They are like a fine fucking wine they getter better with age I love this band so much.
This is awesome! You guys just keep getting better and better. This album will be a masterpiece! Cheers \m/
And this is why Robb Flynn is my favorite vocalist/guitarist.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR BLOODSTONE AND DIAMONDS !! Good song \m/
Echt Klasse. Die Jungs kicken immer noch Ärsche.
unbelieveable! machine head tops themselves everytime!
Middle verse has some of the best lyrics ever written by Machine Head.
Sick song, everything works out perfectly. Loving the lyrics as well. Pre-ordered.
Machine Head's best song ever. yes. It has been proclaimed
This song makes me think, that Bloodstone & Diamonds should be their best album... Amazing stuff!
I've been a fan of this band since the beginning and have never hated an album, always impressed by the shear power this band produces and this new material sounds amazing!!! MACHINE FUCKING HEAD!!!!
One song doesn't sum up an album you haven't heard yet but i like this.
I love the musical structure. Good composing.
Holy Christ, what a riff, what powerful lyrics. Horns way up for Machine Head. Hope to see you in Leeds, England, December 2014.
That is one fine transition after the solo. Great song!
Awesome track!! There's just something about this that makes it so killer. Can't wait for the album. This Is literally on repeat at the moment
OhVicanne machine head never sold out dipshit
OhVicanne The Burning Red was alright. Still sounded like Machine Head. Supercharger was shit though
OhVicanne nope, if anything they sold out from The Blackening onwards.
If anything, they never sold out and did wathever the fuck they wanted
Damn, I was loving old MH style. Thrash, core, nu-metal etc. No chance for album like Burn My Eyes.
This sounds awsome really looking forward to hear the new stuff live. Metal and classic combinet are the best kind of music i´ve ever heard.
That was...beautiful.
Loving the sound of the new album so far!
Thank you very much, you guys keep me alive.Realeyes
Machine Head never lets you down and never will! Machine Head pure awesomness.
Machine Head returns!!!. Awesome band and amazing new track. Yea!!!
This makes me feel younger, actually. When I look back to 2008, the year I discovered MH, I always think "wow, it seems to be a long time, but it's been barely 2 MH albums more". Then, if you count in Motörhead albums... THEN YOU FEEL OLD
Awesome track, can't wait to hear rest of the album
Screw those who think this is shit!!!! do you think machine head do music thinking in you?? they do it because THEY like and they make music that they are going to like, they innovated, this is awsome, and I bet none of you would do better neither me, all we as fans have to do is SUPPORT, not criticate!!! Damn you!!!
Sounds really good! Looking forward to the next album.
Great song. To honor this, I'm wearing my Machine Head shirt to work today.
I appreciated this greatly!
MH has been and will always be a center staple in Metal.. they have gotten nowhere near the credit they deserve from America. Best live band ever I might add
I think Machine Head continue the legacy of Pantera but with their own unique way...More epic, more thrashy way but full with killing riffs and flawless atmosphere!!!Thumbs up my dear Rob!!!!
pretty good song! I'm really excited to hear the whole album
Machine Head her zamanki gibi kendinden bekleneni yapti, muhtesem bir eser daha yarattilar.
When I listen for the first time Machine Head, I was to a Metallica's live and they were the opening group.
Now they are my favourite metal band.
Machine Head, you deserve more of this, but I fuckin love your music and I wait with anxiety to "Bloodstone and Diamonds"
Love u.
This is fucking sick. Machine Head is a true Metal artist.
In the tradition of great opening MH tracks like Davidian, Imperium, Ten Ten Hammer, I Am Hell and Clenching The Fists Of Dissent, this one fits right in.
Outstanding fellas...metal is alive and well. No false pretenses here. All these newer bands might want to take lessons!
Great job ! Especially THE VIOLIN parts !!!
Daaaaaaamn...I can't wait for the whole record!
Holy fuck! This song displays the epitome of why I listen to heavy metal/thrash. Hearing stuff like this for the first time makes me want to start moshing around my house until everything I own is broken and my neighbors think I'm completely insane.
Is not easy to keep fans headbanging for 20 years, Machine Head deserves all the respect in the metal scene. \m/-_-\m/
Rob and Machine Head at their best, great song, wouldn't expect anything less. Absolute Machine Head....... Love it!
I never thought they could top The Blackening and Unto the Locust. Damn Machine Head, you never cease to amaze me.
Looking forward to seeing you guys play in Calgary next Feb!!!
\m/
In love with the violins in the chorus
Can hear the crowd shouting "hey! Hey!" during the riff before the solo!
amazing can not wait for the album
Life is a song. Notes make the soul!
Is it sad that I know all the words already? xD Love these guys and this song is awesome.
Will be seeing you guys Birmingham Dec 18th, CANNOT WAIT.
*MACHINE F**KING HEAD*.
heavy shit guys!!! WE LOVE IT!
Good song, the solo really got me, i can't wait for the album realase!!
It is hard to overtake the blackening/unto the locust work, but it still sounding great
Loving the Strings in this. I remember Rob saying that more songs on this album will have strings on them. I love that. I look forward to the album, but it's gonna be hard to top the last one.
How doesn't it get 12000000000 view compared to all the shit I get across on TH-cam, this is beyond me
Dat strings
Bass sounds very good! Jared must be happy :-)
EPIC!! Gonna see them for the 3rd time in November
I will be at the store in November purchasing this album. WOW. Unto the Locusts was chalk full of talent and this one seems even better. Lyrics too. Great job MH.
Such a good fucking song, much needed after the failure of InFlame' new album
