The Dovo Bond connection: Dovo and Murker are the same company. One makes straights and the other makes safety razors. The Hoffritz open comb razor Bond uses in the books was actually manufactured for Hoffritz by Merkur, so they are all connected.
Hey David, the literary link to Deauville refers to Deauville, France in the Normandy region. Allegedly, Ian Fleming visited the casino there and took inspiration from the setting and surroundings to help write the Casino Royale novel. Check out a TH-cam video titled "The Real Casino Royale." (2006). It is approximately 60 minutes long and it explains the literary connection between Deauville and Ian Fleming. Keep up the great work. Love the videos.
So, will you try shave with it at least once? I had a barber that would use a straight razor on the back of my neck but I'm not daring enough to try to shave with one.
NoVa JB its not this hard you think to lern ( Need some practice for sure) if i have Time i only shave with a knive ( straight razor) of i only have just a little Time i use a de Blade razor to get a descent shave.
Hahaha Love the campy intro. By the way as a British spy genre fan, I have to tell you the shaving soap brand Tumper's is also where Roddy Martindale, a side character in John Le Carre's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, gets his hair cut.
That is absolutely amazing. What a great treat to have and a privalidge I would certainly take great pride in that. You can't beat a bit of Geo F trumper specially. Best wishes Robert
50, damn, the man looks 40, congrats ! Even if you don't have much, you can maintain good hygiene! I'm broke, but i drink between 70cl to 1L of sparkling water per day, eat meat 2 to 3 times per week, go easy on the booze and smokes. Fruits, white fish and 70 to 100% chocolate are important. Avoid cereals, chips, candy and sodas. Milk is useless. This one may not be easy for germans, nordics, brits and north americans : stop eating meat for breakfast ! Change for bread, butter, marmalade, chocolate, fruits, yogurts, you can still have eggs though. To conclude : take your time to wash your face with water, not hot water. Moisturizers and face shower gel are useless and toxic. A bit of after shave is all you need ! Voilà ! You'll thank me later.

Anyway you could post links so us fellow Bond lovers can try and get some of these pieces?
Happy 50th!!!!! Did AARP find you?
That's a REALLY nice gift.
Why is it so hard to find out the brands? Do movie people like keeping it secret?
Suggestion...should place website links of the people and items discussed...maybe go as far a listing you clog equipment etc... that would be sweet!
So everything is from Jermyn Street?
Congratulations, have a very happy birthday
Is it available in online
Another great video, thanks
