Personally, I'd prefer it without all the gadgets and gimmicks and offset that with either a slightly lower price, or a slightly higher spec. But as a platform, it looks absolutely spot-on!
I agree and would like a high rated esc so it would be a drop in upgrade to brushless if need be. Though gimmicky as it looks, gps will bring many newcomers which is a good thing for things to progress and to prove to the big players you don't need spend close to a grand to have performance, features and reliability
It's only 80 USD here! So, without all those gadgets, they could bump up the price to 90-95 USD with a brushless system! It's definitely going to be the next best 1/16 scale basher if what I said happens.

It appears to be a very good small scale r/c. I watched a review on another TH-cam channel on April 8, but it had a monster truck type body. He mentioned th similarities between it and Traxxas trucks. The durability was great. So, I am anxious to see your test. The other reviewer mentioned the lack of parts support at this time. But I think this might be a winner.

This little truggy MT seems pretty cool. They put a little bit of time and thought into this one. I like that they were looking for feedback. That says a lot right there. Let’s hope built in gps is a more common thing to happen in the future.

The whole package is nice. Big plus is the oil shocks that you don't find in other rc cars in this size. Yes they are stiff shocks because of the heavy oil, but this is not a problem because you can change the oil to a lighter oil and you will be ok. Also i like the thicker drive shafts that are definitely stronger compare to wltoys gay thin driveshafts . From me is yes for the size and price.
MJX as in Bug3 , Bugs Mini & Bugs8 PRO, fame. !! About time & perhaps will see some new Helis from them. flybarless, of course. Decent looking entry ground vehicle they given us.👍
I really liked it and like you say, a few small changes and a brushless motor would push it to the top of the must have list. I was impressed with the chassis quality for sure. I'm looking forward to your skate park video. Nice one :)
Could be an interesting little kit for someone who wants too put in their own electrics right away as well, maybe just include the servo & gps as the only electrics & one fully without them as a roller. Upgrades/bling that they can consider making for the chassis is perhaps some Aluminum steering rack parts & servo saver that's adjustable. Aluminum shocktowers or maybe carbon fiber ones with more holes for adjustments & c hubs in aluminum as well that maybe has a spacer you can remove or add in too increase the front kickup for taking jumps. Maybe bit more flexible a arms like rpm offers for plenty of third party manufacturers.
I bought 2 of these from aliexpress for xmas presents for my sons. I tested one out and within 30 mins of use a wheel fell off and looking at the wheel inside its blown apart the wheel hub. Basically disintegrated the plastic wheel where it goes onto the 12mm hex hub. The plastic wheel is such low quality the torque of the car has blown apart the wheel on the front and a rear.
Excellent review. Definitely over that hoon truck body. The tech in this truggy is impressive, it's insanely good at or around the price you estimated. Oh nobody get feelings hurt, truggy don't really do it for me. Hopefully we'll see other models based on this chassis.

I'd love to see a head to head with the 16889. Seen some people say they don't run with off the shelf batteries despite the deans connector. Is that true? Only thing that puts me off.
Very well put together review. I liked how you also included the runtime with the stock batteries. I know that battery animation was more than a few clicks on the editing software. Looking for something for my stepdaughter to keep up with my son's Traxxas Teton. Looks like this is a consideration.
Only things I don't like are the battery and the fact that it's a brushed motor. Any suggestions on what to use to upgrade it if I were to get one for myself?

These inexpensive rc cars are ideally suited for someone trying out the hobby for the first time and unsure if they'll take to it ,why buy expensive traxxas or arrma if you don't take to it , I started out racing truggies with a hpi trophy truggy rtr and other club members questioned why and said it won't compete against team associated rc8t that 90% of members used , I proved them wrong and got 2nd place overall in the season, and said well gloating " I thought I wouldn't do any good with this rtr " it got me well into the hobby , then I got a team associated rc8t championship edition 😉 You don't need top spec and loads of spare cash to have fun
I don’t think traxxas or arrma make a 1/12 basher like this. Do any of the other big names make these types? Personally I like this scale and find myself using my 1/12 basher more than a 1/10 basher.
I've seen videos on this of it yes I have also watched yours but you have not talked about replacement parts have you found any like swing arms or anything and if so where would you find them if I buy it and break it what do I do next none of you have talked about replacement parts on any of the videos I've seen
These look really cool, what happened to the clipless body, I saw it on RC Kicks which had the other updated bits same as yours. They probably didn't want the wrath of Mr T, brand coming after them

@@TomleyRC Hey Phil, from what I have been reading, the Bluetooth connects to the transmitter, not the GPS unit in the truck. I could be wrong. But I don't think Bluetooth connections work over 10 metres. If I'm right, you'd have to use the transmitter on another RC car to be able to use the GPS function. Cheers! :)

Do you know if the gps can be used in other cars and if it's accurate at higher speeds? It would be a big deciding factor for a few dollars more then a skyrc gps and you get a truck
