I use my RevAir weekly on highest heat and tension and my (fine) curls always bounce right back. Absolutely zero damage. I love that thing. The only downside I can see is I’m sort of getting addicted to the blowout look and feel. When my hair gets back down past tailbone length, I will probably go down to using it monthly.
My curl pattern is so tight. Even at the highest settings rev air doesn’t get it remotely straight. 😓 But I know it’s safer than the way I used to blow dry my hair.
The Revair saves me so much time! I went from 4hours with paddle brush and regular dryer to one hour for my crown. It was a holiday gift! My daughter stretches her microlocs with it too❤💫
The revair is amazing mainly for the cool setting with the suction that is best stretch I could ever achieve with cool air. The other 2 settings are a bonus if you ever want to have a blowout look without raking a blow dryer brush or comb through it. I have found that using the setting on highest heat which is 2 it made my hair feel dryer and less hydrated so I dropped back down to 1. But overall I was on a no heat journey already and would absolutely promote this especially for the cool setting because it literally seals in the moisture and that shine is unbelievable
I have the newer version of the RevAir and absolutely love it! I find other dryers dry the surface of my hair but the core still has a lot of moisture so I usually have to let my hair dry for another 24 hours after the blowdry if I want a silk press. The RevAir does a great job of drying my hair to the core so I can often silk press the same day. The majority of the time I just wear my hair blow dried, I only silk press about 2 - 3 times a year
I have original version too. But hey it does the same as the new one. And i hear the wand is not that much lighter. So doesn’t seem like that big of a loss to me.
I’m natural and have medium high density fine strands. I love my Revair ALOT. I blow dry or use hooded dryer several times a month so the heat doesn’t bother me. I am a newer subbie and really enjoy your content, you exude such a pleasant and positive vibe.l which matches your outer beauty. Thank you❤
Great content as always!😊💜 Like you, I had a similar experience with my RevAir. I was not particularly fond of the initial results. I later learned that my hair was too wet, I applied too much product, and used the highest heat setting. Through trial-and-error, I have learned to use my RevAir on the medium (not high) heat setting and tension 7 for optimal results. I also only use it once a month to stretch my 4c, fine, high density, mid-back length hair during my loose hair wash.

I want the Revair so bad! I’ve seen a lot of women with long hair that use it on TH-cam. I use the revlon brush blow dryer right now, it rips my hair out when I use it so I no longer use it. I want the Revair because I no longer want to use a brush or comb to my hair to keep the tension needed to dry it. It causes breakage on my hair. I’ve never gotten heat damage on my hair but I have gotten breakage. I don’t care how much it costs, I’m saving up to get it! ❤
This is exactly why i got it. And my hair has improved 100%. It is a learning curve but my hair is not dry but soft and healthy feeling. It did take me time to learn what products and how much to use and what settings for my hair. But i do not regret buying it. I wish they could come out with a more portable one. i have the first edition but even the second edition is to big to travel with. But when they come out with one, ill be first to buy it.
Bought mines around the holiday. Love it. Use it on my self and my bf. Was able to get both our hair pretty straight. Using high heat tension 4. I actually found that u don’t want the tension too high or it drys it less smooth for some reason
"Hair-heat threshold" is an excellent rule to follow💡. I agree with that since i have high porosity, fine, medium density hair. Only medium to low heat or no heat at all for my hair.
As someone who is learning to use various blowout tools, one thing I dislike is the pulling sensation(as in anything that will cause tension on my neck). I'm not tender-headed, but I frequently suffer from migraines, which I have even been prescribed medication for by my doctor. The Revair is such a worthwhile investment. Usually, when I encounter high-priced items that resemble products from familiar brands (no shade to Dyson), I don't see the value in them. However, the Revair is the only product that truly catches my eye, and it makes sense in the end. As soon as I saved up to buy one, a new model was released, which felt like a win-win situation. I love this product, and it consistently gives me great results each time I use it.
The first time, I used a spray heat protection and it made my hair hard. Now i always a silicone base heat protection. I had mine for almost 2 years. I use the high heat setting. Every 3 to 4 weeks. The only heating tool. Sometimes I will air dry. But my fine hair strands returns to coils every wash day.
Hello Mya her hair does appear to be fine. A hair journal is a good idea. I had a hair journal but it just provided good natural hair information about products and hair routine. Thanks for the information.🌹💜
I am also agreeing with the people that say they cannot see what the RevAir is doing to their hair. My hair is so healthy and long right now. I am just loving my hair. I don't want to take chances on something I can't see.
I had brought a rev air and me and my mother have been using it for 4 years. We both have different textures and curl patterns. Its definitely gentler, faster and easier than using a hair dryer + comb. Can be abit heavy when holding the nozzle but we are satisfied with what we are left with.
@@memorizedvisions That is wonderful that it is working well for you and your mom! Great! I have not used direct heat on my hair in over 20 years. 20:26 a hair journal is definitely the major key if you’re a lazy natural like me! It provides me with that transparent “slap in the face” when I skip pertinent wash or retwist/braid days or when I’ve been wearing my hair “loose” too long
Thanks for sharing, I really enjoy your videos. I’m on the fence with purchasing the revair, not sure how often I will use it and the price is steep. This video was informative and has helped me decide. Thank you once again❤
Hi I'm new to Using the Revair on my fine medium density natural hair. I use the cool setting and tension five to stretch. Thanks for the informative video .
I use it weekly as directed. Use little product. My hair is beautiful and healthy. I get lots of compliments. I wash, condition, and then use a leave in conditioner, not too heavy though.
I’ve always used a heat protectant with it. I just assumed that since it’s still using decently high heat, I should use some just to be safe 😅 but my curls always revert fine, so it was never a big concern for me 😗
Revair has been a godsend for me. I now blowout my hair every 1-3 weeks when I wash, whether I'm going to braid it in a couple of big cornrows, do a twistout with mousse, or flat iron it straight. I always start by spending just 20 mins. getting my hair stretched and dry with the Revair. My hair is longer than it's ever been aside from when I had dreadlocks. I use high heat and suction 4 and only do about a dozen sections on my entire head.
It damaged my hair and I used a heat protectant. K18 is the only reason I did not have to chop any off but my hair still isnt 100% the same. I do have hair on the finer side, but still was upset as Revair claims it is not possible to get heat damage from their product
My heated very hot rollersets under dryer did not ever show heat damage but yes flatiron abs curling iron absolutely shows visual damage in the form of straight pieces and loss of curl pattern.
Thank you for this video. I have used the RevAir five years with excellent performance. After getting the RevAir I grew my natural hair in the form of micro interlocks and my hair grew down to my knees. Yes, everyone’s hair is different and as you showed, there is a proper way to use the RevAir.
I've been using the rev air for the last several years and I achieve really good results when I use a leave in and heat protect serum. I have really fine hair and prefer to use this only for stretching. I do not flat iron my hair. To your point, only a small amount of serum is needed for protection and I start with cool air to dry my hair and then I use high setting to remove any remaining texture. Works well and my hair comes out super soft.
@@zaejohnson3414i have fine hair strands that are prone to single strand knots and breakage from detangling. keeping my hair in a stretched state practically eliminated those issues. the revair is really gentle on my hair. i was able to retain a lot more of my length even with trimming every 4-5 months.
I had to put the newest one up for sale cause even after all the videos, doing exactly what the manual says, my hair is just simply too fine for that type of tension. After two uses, it looked like my hair got thinner, stiffer, and frizzier than if I just didn’t use heat at all. I wanted to love it bad ☹️
I'm having a hard time believing that the revair caused DunsBeautifulPeople's hair to look like that. To me it looks like she tried to texlax her hair and it came out badly and she figured she could blame the revair without revealing that she actually put chemicals in her hair. OOH! A transparent revair would be SO cool! I do agree that weekly use of the revair (on the heat setting, I don't think the cool would harm anything) is probably a bit excessive. (I have a revair, I've used it properly for several years now, flatironed on top of that a few times, and have NOT experienced any heat damage whatsoever. MY hair is actually blow-dried right now, and I accidently got it a little bit wet, and it start to revert instantly. Also, the heat from the revair doesn't need a tonne of heat protectant.)
I’ve seen this and several other videos of people with breakage and heat damage from revair. And even more concerning, one of my favorite professional cosmetologists here on TH-cam does not recommend revair. I was very saddened by this and also scared because I’ve had mine over a year. After consistently using it I did have to do a major chop but honestly I attribute my damage to internal factors and neglecting my hair. (Skipping trims and not moisturizing frequently enough) at this point , idk what to do. It is encouraging to watch your journey because your hair is beautiful and I haven’t seen any issue with you using the revair. However ,. .. my routine is not even half as good as yours so .. I just don’t know! At this point I have put mine away in the closet and the only heat I’m using is under the hooded dryer. Working on getting my overall health and routines together and praying for the best. 🩶🩶🩶
I'm sure you know your hair better than a TH-cam cosmetologist. For all you know there are commercial factors stopping the recommendation but nonetheless that qualification isn't better than your own experience and knowledge of your hair.
I’ve had my revair for 2 years. I use it on 7 at the heaviest heat, my 4c is still fine and flourishing. I use it on damp hair, no product the do leave in after the drying my hair.
I have very thick hair and i use the revlon paddle brush dryer. For me it's very easy to use. She seems to have very fine hair. I wouldn't recommend anyone with that type of hair to use blow dryer. Not even Revair.
The RevAir is one of the best hair tools I’ve bought. Along with my Sedu flat iron that I bought in 2009/2010. It’s just conking out on me over a decade later.
I have a RevAir & like it but find my hair always feels dry afterwards even on low heat setting. It also tangles more often compared to blow drying with a comb. I think the dryness is related to being discouraged from using products that have oil in them so I've been using leave in & heat protectant. I have 4B/4C & would love to learn what I need to tweak for a better outcome.
My sister has one and I used it 3 times. Each time I noticed breakage in the middle of my head (the crown). I put it on the low setting so I’m not sure why this happened.
Same issue. Did it the way they said to, even used their own product, my hair was thinning from it even at the lowest setting and my hair has been the longest and thickest it’s been for years. So to kind of see it have my hair journey kind of back tracked really sucked
I want to counter what people are calling 'heat damage', which seems to be characterised by 'loss of curl pattern' which as far as I'm concerned is not something to be concerned about and requires no special intervention if there is no breakge. Just keep pampering your hair as you typically would and do your periodic deep conditioning and protein treatments. The constant pathologising of afro hair needs to stop. If people can cope with highlight on permanent dye on bleach with weekly heat applied why are black people crying about a little texture change in some tiny areas of their head? If you don't aesthetically like the looser curl pattern pieces and there is breakage that's completely different but being shamed by the internet that looser curl pattern is damage while seeing no characteristics of damage is wild to me.
I remain sceptical of her claims. Heat can cause some damage no matter what you use but you can limit it by using certain methods and techniques but also combing can damage hair, brushing also, certain hairstyles etc etc etc. Many people use that particular hairdryer and by using due care and attention they limit the damage to their hair.
Thanks for the information. I just know as black ppl we never had a problem with retaining length with your standard blow dryer and have been using them with no problem. The price tag is not worth it when a normal $30 blow dryer and paddle brush can give you the same healthy results. Black hair is not different or weaker than any other ethnicity and i hate that companies talk down on our hair and claim that it can only be saved with their products. We just need to go back to the basics when it comes to our hair and stop running to products or "new innovative" tools to fix it.
I purchased the Revair during the Black Friday sale. I used it for the first time, and my hair was so tangled after. I detangled before, so I’m not sure what I did wrong, but after I tried detangling again and I was almost at the verge of tears it hurt so bad…..However, I also used it on my daughter and didn’t have that problem with her. Any suggestions
Yeah I don’t think it would work for me. I have really long fine hair and I actually need the comb attachment on a blow dryer to help detangle my hair.
Any heat especially if applied regularly could potentially change the hair structure, ie change the hair’s texture or curl pattern. People must also consider their own hair type and texture. Fine thin strands as opposed to thicker strands, the overall health of the hair, other styling tools used, products used, etc. The doctor did great until she said rev air eliminates heat damage. 3:17 Using any heat is a risk and making an exclusionary or absolute statement like that is irresponsible and crosses into a very gray area in advertising. There are people who will accept that as an absolute truth and not consider all the other variables. Rev Air when used properly definitely has a far less chance of causing heat damage than other styling tools.
For me, I will never use direct heat on my hair. This April 2025 will be my 2nd year Healthy Haircare Anniversary. I want to straighten my hair for the first time. I am going to a stylist and get my hair roller set in jumbo rollers. I will be under the hooded dryer for at least 3 hours. Then have my hair wrapped. That will be my yearly hair straightening routine.
@@Ten-wk5zk Thank you! It is working very well for me. I have not use direct heat on my hair in over 20 years. However, I started a new healthy haircare journey in April 2023, and my hair is healthier and longer than it has ever been. 👍😊
90 percent of the cases of heat damage are human error, and even for experienced people it is easy to make a mistake. I always recommend to people that they test heat at different degrees and/or low medium high settings on their saved shed hairs so that they know the exact degree that will damage their hair. My hair flat irons beautifully at 395 with no damage, but if I go to 400 my curls are destroyed, so it can literally be the difference between 5 degrees. New tools always have a learning curve so it's best to test all the settings and go slowly before we use them on our whole heads 🙂
That crack in her voice and her frail pulling out her strands seamed performative. There is a chance of heat damage with any item that involves heat & not everybody’s hair will be able to handle substantial heat without causing damage.
I heard influencerrs make 25%-650% commission on Revair. There are cheaper blow dryers like Conair Silverbird for $30 that are better than Revair or Babyliss for a midpriced dryer. Revair blows up the cuticles not down to close the cuticles. Over time it will weaken the hair shaft. I'm a cosmetologist and I have seen what it does because I bought one. It's collecting dust in my closet. I recommend affordable & better blow dryers to my clients. I'm not telling anyone not to buy it.

Silicone isn't natural. I use almond oil or Grapeseed oil as a natural heat protectant. I only use medium heat when I blow dry & no heat damage. A medium heat gives me the stretch I'm looking for. I don't do bone straight styles, so no need for high heat for my Coils. 👍🏾 Thanks for sharing....
@BionAvastar3000 *Silicone is a synthetic polymer with chemical additives, making it an unnatural ingredient.* It's derived from silica, a natural compound found in rocks, but it's not considered a natural product.
@@truthserum4life101 y'all want to be all natural but then do unnatural processes like frying your hair with heat? Silicones are a better protectant for heat than oils are.
@@truthserum4life101 Silicon is from silica it's called synthetic because of the form it is processed into, typically from crystalline to liquid. The hair is also dead, use what suit it. I for one LOVE silicone.
Silicon is WONDERFUL, it's a gift to hair technology. I have pure dimethicone and cyclomethicone and add them to my hair products with no silicones in the original formulation and the upgrade is CRAZY. The amount of hair loss I have had since using silicone is also a marvel. I detangle and there is barely any hair coming out. I'll never go back to non-silicone products. Silicones are a necessity for afro hair, as far as I'm concerned. The anti-silicone brigade can rarely share negative experiences they've had with silicone, they're just repeating the propaganda. Get you some silicone then come back and tell me how good you think grapeseed and almond oil are for slip, follicle filling and smoothing. Oils and silicones have different roles.

20:26 a hair journal is definitely the major key if you’re a lazy natural like me! It provides me with that transparent “slap in the face” when I skip pertinent wash or retwist/braid days or when I’ve been wearing my hair “loose” too long
Good morning.
Lol, I am sorry your reference made me laugh this morning, and it was well needed :).
@ there’s always room for a morning laugh 😊
This was very informative video! Thank you! 💜
I am so glad the RevAir is working for you!
I see benefit with mine as well
Thanks for making this video!!
I’ve always used a heat protectant with it. I just assumed that since it’s still using decently high heat, I should use some just to be safe 😅 but my curls always revert fine, so it was never a big concern for me 😗
I am glad that it has worked for you!
I wish it was available in the UK 🇬🇧 😢
Me too 😢
Love your hair Sis! Can you do a video on how to do that style?
Thank you

Revair has been a godsend for me. I now blowout my hair every 1-3 weeks when I wash, whether I'm going to braid it in a couple of big cornrows, do a twistout with mousse, or flat iron it straight. I always start by spending just 20 mins. getting my hair stretched and dry with the Revair. My hair is longer than it's ever been aside from when I had dreadlocks. I use high heat and suction 4 and only do about a dozen sections on my entire head.
I am so glad you have found benefit in it
I purchased one a few months back. It’s still in the box. I just look at it from time to time.
Use it, you won’t regret it
You can give it to me. I’ll send you monthly sponsor pics 😂
@ 😂
It damaged my hair and I used a heat protectant. K18 is the only reason I did not have to chop any off but my hair still isnt 100% the same. I do have hair on the finer side, but still was upset as Revair claims it is not possible to get heat damage from their product
My hair is extremely fine with low density and breaks by touch it. I have never gotten any damage from the Revair.
I am sorry that happened to you.
I hope the K18 will continue to help you bounce back.
Can I buy your revair if you don’t want it? 🤭
I ❤ my Revair. I wish it had more heat and more suction.
I am glad you like the RevAir.
Hello!I am so glad you have seen benefit in the RevAir.
the revair helped me hair grow from bra strap to hip length in just under 2 years. used it every 2 weeks. zero heat damage.
In what ways did it help? How were you using it?
Note to self: Use things properly.
🥺💜💐😀👍🏾
Thank you for sharing ❤
of course
Me too. I've had mine since 2022 and I use it on the highest settings weekly.
Any tips on protecting the hair whilst using a flat iron?
Thank you for sharing!! So much clarity!!
Thanks for your opinion. I just remove it from my list. It takes long to grow long hair but just a little to damage it
I'm sure you know your hair better than a TH-cam cosmetologist.
I am so glad the RevAir is working for you.
I like mine as well.
I am so glad you have found a benefit in it.
I used the #2 heat setting.. it dried up my hair.. i stopped immediately and only use level 1 or zero
Me seeing this after I made the decision to become a blow dry natural on Sunday 👁️👄👁️
Same here lol 😅 new plan is to experiment with stretching on cold with my blow dryer and medium twists on alternate weeks
If only I could purchase the RevAir - I live in the UK and this item is not sold here.😢
There are some secondhand ones going around, you can look into that.
they are ridiculously expensive because there's a lot of demand for it
I purchased the Revair during the Black Friday sale. I used it for the first time, and my hair was so tangled after. I detangled before, so I’m not sure what I did wrong, but after I tried detangling again and I was almost at the verge of tears it hurt so bad…..However, I also used it on my daughter and didn’t have that problem with her. Any suggestions
Smaller sections and throughly detangle with leave in/blowout cream they sell. Try again.
I second that.
@@Bodybybabs thanks, I will!
Yeah I don’t think it would work for me. I have really long fine hair and I actually need the comb attachment on a blow dryer to help detangle my hair.
She already had severe damaged hair prior to the revair!
There does appear to be other factors at play here
Any heat especially if applied regularly could potentially change the hair structure, ie change the hair’s texture or curl pattern.
Mines just came in today 🤭🤭🤭🤭😭
For me, I will never use direct heat on my hair. This April 2025 will be my 2nd year Healthy Haircare Anniversary. I want to straighten my hair for the first time. I am going to a stylist and get my hair roller set in jumbo rollers. I will be under the hooded dryer for at least 3 hours. Then have my hair wrapped. That will be my yearly hair straightening routine.
This sounds like a good plan
@@Ten-wk5zk Thank you! It is working very well for me. I have not use direct heat on my hair in over 20 years. However, I started a new healthy haircare journey in April 2023, and my hair is healthier and longer than it has ever been. 👍😊
How do you get your hair trimned?
Almost caved in on black Friday 😂 I just don't think its necessary especially without having dumb long hair or a super busy schedule.
I’ll take it if you don’t want it 😂
@dani4845 Are you in NYC? I would surely give it.
@@abbe1abbe156 Aw thanks! I wish but I’m in NC
... I have extremely fine hair, low density, and low porosity. No damage I use mine since 2022...
@@abbe1abbe156 no NC but thank you 😊
The Lady at 10:11 has something else going on. She needs to see a dermatologist who specializes in kinky hair. I recently started a GLP-1 and my edges became thin. I take vitamins daily so I knew I wasn’t deficient. I was lacking protein because of the decrease in appetite.
She definitely has a bald spot. I think something else is going on with her. She should see a physician.
And yes, that's a bald spot at the crown. Female pattern hair loss.
That crack in her voice and her frail pulling out her strands seamed performative. There is a chance of heat damage with any item that involves heat & not everybody’s hair will be able to handle substantial heat without causing damage. Heat protectant helps but it’s not a get out of jail free pass.
That’s definitely a bald spot.

Silicone isn't natural. I use almond oil or Grapeseed oil as a natural heat protectant. I only use medium heat when I blow dry & no heat damage. A medium heat gives me the stretch I'm looking for. I don't do bone straight styles, so no need for high heat for my Coils. 👍🏾
Thanks for sharing....
Silicones come from silica, which is a natural sand in the ground.
@BionAvastar3000
*Silicone is a synthetic polymer with chemical additives, making it an unnatural ingredient.* It's derived from silica, a natural compound found in rocks, but it's not considered a natural product.
This is weird, but you really enunciate with your lips. Like over enunciate more than others. Or, maybe we under enunciate lol?
I used to enunciate much better when I was a child. I think I started speaking more casually and less clearly as I got older to fit in, but my speech has declined. I would love to get that back

Cyndoll?! 😂😂🤭
Please NO! Not a fan of her theory on natural hair! 🛑 ✋🏾
@@AqsoulXI have a 8 yr old daughter that I have been following natural TH-cam practices. Her hair looked so healthy, it is super full and long. I watched some of Cyndolls videos and decided to straighten my daughters hair last summer and she had sooooo much shaft damage that I’m still cutting her hair to get rid of all splits up her shaft. And realized that I also big chopped a few times due to my hair not flourishing during those 8 years. Cyndoll was not lying. I use mine on max and my hair still thrives. I use the ColorWow Dreamcoat Extra Strength. The blow out looks like I straightened it but my hair comes out cool! No heat damage. My hair lasts two weeks straight and then goes into mini braids for months ❤
I use a leave in before and a light oil after.
I love that the RevAir is working for you.
