Was going with the "stealth hitch" until I saw the "not for towing" tag on it. Cancelled the order and ordered this one. I may tow a small trailer, and I need the option...

it was a good hitch, although I didn't attempt to tow anything except for bikes off the end of it. honestly, I got this to have a rear towing solution for the car since it seemed pretty clear to me that there was plenty of chance that the junction box mail fail again at some point in the future. Mach-E has no way to be towed safely from the back, so this was cheap insurance to have some solution if I'm bricked somewhere.

Does installing a trailer hitch on a Mach e void the warranty?

Only for something that went wrong as a direct result of that modification. There's a federal law on this.
