Watching this after getting bit by a Maltipoo today. 😭
Thanks for the advice. Next time I won’t hesitate to muzzle when they show signs of aggression.

Congratulations on the pregnancy! 🤗💞 I’m glad I found your channel. I just found it too. I’ve been grooming for a few years but I’ve been going on and off with being burnt out. 😫 just trying to find passion and trying to find my own way on my grooming journey. Rn I’m kinda just grooming at home on the low. 🤭 But looking to work for myself. I don’t enjoy the salon life.

I have a Neapolitan mastiff 4 month old. He is over 60 pounds. He hates brushes. He wants to bite me and eat the brush .

We have a Shih Tsu dog and last time we took her to the groomer's we think she might have gotten traumatized from it. She refuses to stay still and we can't get her to hold still when trimming her face around her eyes and nose. We can't even get a professional dog groomer with 2 assisstants to get her to hold still and we don't know how to groom her face without having to sedate her at the vet which we don't want to do. Any idea's on how to fix this?

Hello, I am so sorry to hear about your pup! Have you tried any anxiety medications from the vet to help? Not a full sedative but something just to relax her

@@PawsRelax We haven't no, but we could try that. My mom doesn't want to have to sedate her since that would be a nasty vet bill but if we have to then we will without a doubt. We just want her to not be so scared of the shavers and scissors. Its the noise that freaks her out. Thanks for the tip and if it doesn't work i'll let you know.

Hey I am going to grooming school next month, I’ve been wanting to do this for years now... how hard is it to find a job after school?

It depends on where you live. If you anchor yourself in an area where there's not much in dog grooming (i.e a small towns, retirement area), then with much patience and years of dedication you will really reap the benefits.Cities are best chance to make real money but competition is fierce. A city with more than one dog grooming school can be a problem; with some circles, the school you graduate from is the only deciding factor and if it is *STAY AWAY FROM THEM*.
Chose a shop that will work with YOU as an individual and understand YOUR limits and can help you grow since there are many things school won't teach you. Remember; there still is a LONG learning process after that step with many years of practice and patience.
      - A 5 year grooming school graduate.
      Good luck out there

Thanks for watching! I was able to get a job right outside of school, where I live there is a LOT of dogs and it’s hard to find a good groomers. It really does depend where you live! Do a search online to see if anyone is hiring in your area to see what kind of demand there is for groomers :)

Nicole Olivier thanks for the advice! I’m willing to relocate anywhere in the country basically I’ve been looking up jobs out west. That’s funny to think about grooming cliques lol people are insane. Do you recommend grooming cats?

    • @TheModernRiot

@@kirby9991 I would give it a shot if you're gonna learn from a professional since you can make more money with cats and it has less steps in the grooming process. One bite can ruin your whole grooming career though so be careful. Cat mouths are full of bacteria that can get your cut infected pretty fast.
There is a huge demand in cities for cat grooming if that's your talent.

That's quite a question... You'll need to do a lot of research on your own.

Hey , It's the owner's fault if the dog turns aggressive anyway .
They wait until late and they start to pull the dog's leg if you will to take it to the groomer or the vet and have the pet getting snappy at other people because their owner set them off and the way that they are being handled sets them off even more instead of being trained and desensitized to withstand being handled and restrained that way or send something that the dog enjoys to occupy the dog's mind with during the process . These owner better control their dog before they wind up causing somebody to call animal control and they end up controlling the dog themselves to where the dog winds up getting put down to sleep forever over safety concerns .
