I saw them in Leeds, amazing show..after the show the venue was a gay club and Mcalmont left and Bernard stayed and danced with us gay boys..i got to get down with my fave guitar player
Probably the best collaboration I've ever heard. Both of them are musical geniuses and Bernard Butler was SO RIGHT in his instincts to make music with David McAlmont. I play this song all the time, alongside `Yes'. In fact, I can't choose between the two! NICE (Lucozade moment!).
It's always on my cellphone. First heard it at 2002, I was just 12yo. It played over n over on Prambors Radio. Feeling reminisce whenever listen to this song about what happened on that year. Gerard Butler was a guitarist of SUEDE..oh mannnn
This is so cute - BB having fun and showing some humour - didn't think he had it in him. Never heard this before - need to explore the McAlmont/Butler reunion
@LuisPBE A third album was actually recorded, but I remember Bernard saying on his site that they had difficulties in getting a release, and it subsequently never appeared. The single "Speed" (from the album) was later released in 2006. It's also rumoured that "Distant Dreamer" by Duffy was originally a M&B song, but I think that's likely just rumour.
-The video's intro is reminiscent of "Animal Nitrate" video intro -Bernard changes hairstyle to something that resembles Brett's -Bernard uses a 50s tele guitar with bigsby (white blonde color) and a rainbow colored strap, a sign that he's "changed"/"better" -Bernard wears a shirt that's opened to reveal the skin underneath, ala Brett (Jools Holland performance) -1:28 - a music cable that unwinds - similar to a scene in Suede's Love & Poison concert film -the lyrics
Oh I bet he would...he was a ok dancer you could tell he was a st8 guy lol. I walked over to him and said hi and told him he is the best guitar player in the world....he smiled said thank you and I was to scared and went back dancing he was a bit drunk too.
docterlovejoy. ( nice spelling ). Dont diss Hendrix man. You can express your appreciation of another artist without sounding like a spaz and disrespecting an iconic and influential and true artist like Hendrix. Put that negative energy into dissing the tons of wafer thin fools that are filling up the air waves and deserve to be knocked down a peg or 2. With respect. Without Malice.
How am I only discovering this gorgeous song in 2021?? Absolutely fantastic!!
The intro has been my ringtone for nearly 20 years

Pretty boring song and video (I like some of their other stuff). The production on the song is fantastic though. When did this come out?
