I've had a big ole spider similar to this one on my windowsill, nicknamed it frank and tossed dead or injured flies into the web whenever I'd kill one. He was awesome. Kept flies outta my place for so long. One time I knew a bad storm was rollin in so I took a small clear container like the one in the vid, filled it with sticks and such, and basically caught frank and brought him in for a week or so while the storm raged on outside. Even fed him with the june bugs and other lil insects that found their way inside. Once the storm passed I placed him near the usual spot and he went right back up there and built an even bigger web. He was rad 👌🏻

Hiya Coyote. I live in Southern Australia and have many many orb weavers in my garden. It makes venturing out at night a game of spider roulette. There is a 30ft tree in our back yard, that has these sticky webs that can span several feet. There is an obvious female that sets her web every single night, trip wires included, she perches on a branch waiting. I swear if I ever walk into that web, you will hear me screaming all the way there. You are one brave soul, Sir.
I wouldn't say he doesn't harm them, some of the animals, frogs particularly get handled pretty aggressively, I mean hes not bad, and better than a lot of people I've seen on youtube. But how would you feel if you were just sitting in your home and someone hauled out you by your right leg and wouldn't let you get away...
The venom is not like he described. Its venom is nothing like a black widow bite. It just causes swelling, redness, mild pain, and sometimes a blister. There's no cramping or anything.
Been bit by these before and it's usually when they get cornered and nearly squashed. It isn't bad, less than a bee sting and worse than a mosquito bite. Their bites itch a lot though.
Coyote: don’t bite me don’t bite me don’t bite me don’t bite me don’t bite me don’t bite me Spider: don’t squish me don’t squish me don’t squish me don’t squish me don’t squish me
I didn't know these were venomous as a kid, I would carry those around on my clothes or hold them all the time at my grandmas. Never got bit, beautiful creatures.
I think that’s funny. All spiders are venomous but the majority can’t really harm you unless you are allergic. Yes the bite might hurt but that’s not surprising because any bite from any animal is not pleasant.
I live in Georgia. I'm afraid of spiders and would never do what he did. However, I had to watch this because I had an identical orb weaver in my yard last year and was fascinated by it. Coming from an arachniphobe, this is by far my favorite spider. I named mine Charlotte and got to watch it eat a hornet and when I first encountered it I was doing dishes one morning and watched it build its web across the kitchen window. My dog broke its web and it moved to a spot above the gate to my back yard. I stopped using that gate for a while. It was in my yard for about a month but sadly, I found it hanging by two legs from its web about mid November. I saved it's body in a plastic container. I actually considered it a friend.
same situation happened to me. about a month ago a banana spider had a web on our back porch. we also named ours charlotte haha. But my dad fed it crickets for a while, and it got pretty big! But then a few days ago I went outside and it wasn’t there anymore.

Coyotes videos are blown out of proportion and some of his facts are really wrong. For example he says that its similar to a black widow when it bites which is not true at all. This spider is really harmless and can not do a fraction of the damage that a black widow can do
The likelihood one of those bites were fatal is very low, they have venom on par with the black widow and the venom it has isn't capable of killing a healthy adult human. Now, when I say "healthy adult", I mean a completely healthy adult. The elderly and children have a bigger risk with either spider, humans don't usually die from black widow bites or orb weaver bites.
The bite isn't medically significant to a human. I have them all over - they're not only common in Central America - I'm in South Carolina and could probably find 100 of them in a few minutes without leaving my own property. Though they do look freaky and are supposed to hurt a lot if they bite, I've been around them a ton and never had an issue - I avoid them and they avoid me.
i love how he still isn't dead and deals with the pain of bites and stings in his videos, despite the pain, he just deals with it.. he even takes the risk
You say that you want people like us to not be afraid of spiders, then again, the music track that is playing makes the spider encounter, even more intense...
I just held one that I've been watching for a couple of months. It really is just all in your mind. It took me a while to work up the nerve, and then I realized I was completely fine. It was a very cool experience
Joshua Lor Maybe say: I already knew he wasn’t going to get bitten. That seems more predictable! (Not tryna be rude but like try making a bit more sense.)
"never attempt to catch, or handle a spider" I mean, i'm not going to touch a black widow. But i'm absolutely going to hold little jumping spiders every time i see them
Am I the only one who just laughed at the fact that the spiders that eat birds and bats are in Australia? Like Australia never gets a break from organisms that are that nuts😂
We just discovered several of these babies on our property last week. We are in central Florida and did not expect to run into her. Gorgeous spider. And the 3 of us were lucky enough to be there just as a large wood wasp flew into her nest.
"One of my underlying goals is to help people get over their fear of spiders" *two minutes later* "SPIDER BITES ARE DANGEROUS AND CAN BE FATAL DONT ATTEMPT TO HANDLE OR CATCH A SPIDER" Edit: Yo, this comment was a joke. Idk why people think this was hateful??? Pls chill
Its same thing with All of potentially dangerous animals. You dont need to fear Them, as those are not there hunt you or attack you unless threaten or provoken. Do not fear, but respect. with spiders, even those that are dangerous, as long you know where Their web is, you are 100% safe. As they wont leave there unless someone breaks webbing and forces it relocate. Only spiders you need to Be on alert are dangerous wanderers as Those are on the move and pretty much goes everywhere their legs take.
Marinna Grace Coyote is trying to show that spiders CAN be fatal , but most of them aren't out to get you. Excluding the ones from Australia , those buggers are out to get ya'.
living in queensland, australia I would literally see thousands of these things every day, during spring time they would be basically everywhere you'd look. near my neighbourhood there was a massive web with 100s of spiders spanning across a bunch of power lines
Spiders are one of my favorite creatures. There is so much diversity in size, shape and look. I almost never handle them though. Mainly because I don't want to risk accidently hurting them. Now if I find them already on me I'll happily more them somewhere safer but they are SO FRAGILE that they make me nervous.
I live in South Alabama and see spiders like this toward the middle of the Summer and most die off end of October. They are Golden Silk Orb Weavers but most folks here call them Banana Spiders. I have handled several and have never gotten bit. They are fascinating!
I remember seeing golden orb weavers all over Costa Rica, it was awesome! I also think we could easily call them "pickleback" spiders, cuz they look like pickles with legs.
Coyote: *puts spider on arm and lets it bite him willingly* Me: see tiny baby jumping ‘pider (very small) *has seizure and moves to Antarctica where there’s no ‘piders*
Man, I've always been terrified of Spiders. those giants are at the top of my list. I know they're not aggressive, but they are massive, and a solid 10/10 on he creepy scale. I have to work around them/through them here in the southern US all the time. I've actually taken WAY longer on jobs then I was supposed to as a result of having to work around them. You're a braver man than I sir. I took a bite as a teenager on my lower leg, and it was sheer hell. The pain was immense, and I had a grapefruit sized lump on my calf. These guys REALLY hurt. Worst part is, It was a total accident that I came into contact with it. Drove my 4 wheeler through it's web at high speed, and didn't notice it had attached to me. Usually they will not bite unless you REALLY try to make them do it, but if they do, you'd better hope it wasn't a full dose of venom.
"Hey guys, do you dare me to hold this giant spider?" "No." "Man, I can't believe you guys are making me do this!" "We're not." "You guys are insane alright here goes!"
Coyote- "I'm trying to help people overcome their fear of Spiders" A few minutes later "Warning, never handle a spider because their bites are dangerous" Me- "Well that doesn't help me!"
You take a risk every time you handle an animal, it doesn't mean that they will always bite you but you have to be aware of yourself and it to kind of tell if the animal is cool enough to keep handling. It's not all bad.
Don't worry, there are only a small handful of spiders that can bite humans, and an even smaller number of those have venom that can seriously harm a human. The vast majority of spiders you will encounter are perfectly harmless. Doesn't make them look any less creepy, though.
When I was in Asutralia I saw a whole bunch of these, made pictures of them a couple of times. They were smaller than this one, but I´ve been told they were non-venomous.
Never clickbait.
Respect.

I live in Texas. I love the orb weavers in my garden! People always try to kill them, but they are so useful for plants.

Gladys Tapia I always call someone and don’t go to them unless they’re far then *it disappears*
IKR
i love how he still isn't dead and deals with the pain of bites and stings in his videos, despite the pain, he just deals with it.. he even takes the risk

You say that you want people like us to not be afraid of spiders, then again, the music track that is playing makes the spider encounter, even more intense...
It's probably the camera guys doing the editing, and not him.

Mad mad mad coyote what are u doing
I just held one that I've been watching for a couple of months. It really is just all in your mind. It took me a while to work up the nerve, and then I realized I was completely fine. It was a very cool experience
I know he didn’t get bitten because at the beginning he didn’t scream. 😂
These spiders are actually pretty gentle as far as spiders go. They'll only bite if you really freak them out
They only bite if you are peter parker
Joshua Lor Maybe say: I already knew he wasn’t going to get bitten. That seems more predictable! (Not tryna be rude but like try making a bit more sense.)
Renz Taboy lucky i’m not him 💀
They're big as and bigger than the size of your hand in Australia.. I'd say roughly the size of your head

"never attempt to catch, or handle a spider"
I mean, i'm not going to touch a black widow. But i'm absolutely going to hold little jumping spiders every time i see them
Am I the only one who just laughed at the fact that the spiders that eat birds and bats are in Australia? Like Australia never gets a break from organisms that are that nuts😂
Yasmina Ali fr I feel bad for Australia
Yasmina Ali Australia is the best
I live in Australia :P I keep a blow torch near me at all times lol

I've seen plenty of people that freak out just at the sight of any spider.

We just discovered several of these babies on our property last week. We are in central Florida and did not expect to run into her. Gorgeous spider. And the 3 of us were lucky enough to be there just as a large wood wasp flew into her nest.

Edit: Yo, this comment was a joke. Idk why people think this was hateful??? Pls chill
That was what I thought lmao...
So can dog bites, the point of the warning is that its a possibility, not a guarantee...
Lmao ikr I feel sooooooo much better now thanks coyote
Coyote: gets bitten by spider, lays on ground screaming.
Mark:...
YOu aLL RigHT ThERe??
Describe the pain
No more like “did he get you?”
I’m getting so sick of these jokes
😂😂😂
@@tashaholland6869 Who cares?
living in queensland, australia I would literally see thousands of these things every day, during spring time they would be basically everywhere you'd look. near my neighbourhood there was a massive web with 100s of spiders spanning across a bunch of power lines
😳😬😮
And that's why I don't want to live in Australia

Spiders are one of my favorite creatures. There is so much diversity in size, shape and look. I almost never handle them though. Mainly because I don't want to risk accidently hurting them. Now if I find them already on me I'll happily more them somewhere safer but they are SO FRAGILE that they make me nervous.
Same here! I love spiders, and it's so relaxing when they crawl on you. But I am so scared to drop it, so I rarely handle them.
@Calypso congratulations! Do you know what type of tarantula you want?
Orb weavers are so chill and they're the best helpers against pests outside the house. 10/10 spider friend
Aside from jumping spiders
I started crying when I first saw the spider. I’m trying to get over my arachnophobia!
Same
That's the wrong channel for you then.
But seeing how its just exploring for itself helped a bit right? They really don't want to do you any harm
I felt much more peaceful when he put it back on the web
Wait what?!?! I held my breath until he put it down
That comment plus ur pic they fit sooo good
Docter: what happened?
Coyote: I put a venomous spider on my arm
*doctor
ALL spiders are venomous except the Camel Spider
Peyton Berntsen doctor: So what happened.
Coyote: I let a ALLIGATOR SNAPPING TURTLE BITE ME.
Doctor: FATES
I live in South Alabama and see spiders like this toward the middle of the Summer and most die off end of October. They are Golden Silk Orb Weavers but most folks here call them Banana Spiders. I have handled several and have never gotten bit. They are fascinating!
but they aren't bananas. it's brazilian wandering spiders who are bananas
Me : gets bitten shakes hand to get animal off.
Coyote: gets bitten gently puts animal down.

I don't understand the joke
I remember seeing golden orb weavers all over Costa Rica, it was awesome! I also think we could easily call them "pickleback" spiders, cuz they look like pickles with legs.
Coyote: *puts spider on arm and lets it bite him willingly*
Me: see tiny baby jumping ‘pider (very small)
*has seizure and moves to Antarctica where there’s no ‘piders*
‘piders...
um,ok.
Im not joking my little (4 year old) sister says pider for spider
Baby snakes are more venomous than adult snakes and it might be the same for the spiders
P.B. Renfro ... welp. I’m gonna go yeet myself off the face off the earth.
P.B. Renfro also I absolutely love snakes. They’re adorable.

Roxys Gaming didn't know you can hear my screams
"Hey guys, do you dare me to hold this giant spider?"
"No."
"Man, I can't believe you guys are making me do this!"
"We're not."
"You guys are insane alright here goes!"

Coyote- "I'm trying to help people overcome their fear of Spiders"
A few minutes later
"Warning, never handle a spider because their bites are dangerous"
Me- "Well that doesn't help me!"
You take a risk every time you handle an animal, it doesn't mean that they will always bite you but you have to be aware of yourself and it to kind of tell if the animal is cool enough to keep handling. It's not all bad.
Alex Marx lol
Don't worry, there are only a small handful of spiders that can bite humans, and an even smaller number of those have venom that can seriously harm a human. The vast majority of spiders you will encounter are perfectly harmless. Doesn't make them look any less creepy, though.
spider:”living in peace” Coyote Peterson: You want some crunchy boi?
The larger the legs are, the scarier it gets.
Marilou Vegilia that's not the dangerous part.
Babylauncher3000 it is the scariest part.
Even if you are an anorexic midget that spider ain't even .5% of your weight
The larger it is
The more I like it
