Just a thought but if you select the roads layer by CTRL clicking the layer icon you can then expand the selection 5 ot 10 pixels and then select the water layer and just delete. Does that make sense. I think that would have made your job easier. Great video too. Thanks
I am looking to get a laser engraver, have always thought these maps were very cool so started watching this video but never imagined it is New Smyrna Beach, this is where I live. This is too cool. Thank you. Would you be willing to sale that file?

Good tutorial. Do you know how to do those 3d football stadiums with layers? I'm trying to figure out that part
The epoxy in the end makesit really special
Great project!
Well done!
Confused right out of the gate - how do you get to the screen on snazzy maps where you select and deselect the elements?
Is that ventilator blowing at the cutter or sucking air away from it? Do you find it suffcient or how do you cope with the smoke generated?
Looks awesome, great talking point
Thanks!

Turned out so good !!
Thank you!
Loved this! I cant wait to try it out on mine thank you for walking through the map making portion is was incredibly helpful
No problem! Glad you liked it!
cool video! i would skip the epoxy. you can see weird bubbles/waves along the edges. it also yellows in UV light. i'd use acrylic instead.
Great tutorial. Can this be done on a charcuterie board with a deep engrave rather than a total cut?
Thanks.
I would think so but it would take a really long time.
What program do you use once you get all the files? I can’t tell and don’t say!
What wattage is this particular laser? I was going to get the 20 watt D1 Pro this week, But saw the xtool just released their 40 watt...
This is a 20w. The 40w sounds great! Quicker for sure
good tutorial ,thanks bro
Inlet shores or off peninsula?
Not my cup of tea but that laser project turned out looking great! 👍👍
Thanks 👍
love it
How much would you charge for a file if I send you the map .
Still need a file? I make lake maps.
@@myhoneyshandmade1077 sorry I did not get a reply so I went and got somebody else.next time
@@bayfild no worries.
Nice, I think glass would be cheaper, faster and look better than epoxy.
wow
Subbed
You missed one major landmark in NSB.. The Garlic! Jokes aside, it looks great!
😂 Honestly, I though about putting it in there! It’s a staple every time we go down. As long as it’s not a 3hr wait 🤤
I'm going to refer to Maker's Muse "Are cheap laser cutters safe?"
It's a laser bud.... Lol
😂
Most convoluted demonstration of this concept. Still looking for a more complete and less challenging lecture.
nice project, but definitely not for beginners
