I use matte top coat to clean my brush to change colors. It is quick and easy.

Brilliant 👏 when do we file off underneath the nail with an e file? Is it when the nails are long enough and can cause lifting at the friedge?

You don't really need to file underneath the nail. I only use this technique if there is a problem with the nail, for example natural nail lifting/separating from the overlay and I need to do a quick fix. Otherwise I would fix lifting when I infill (remove lifted area and reapply product rather than file it off from underneath). Thank you ❤️
