    Great video, did all 4 injectors on my Scenic on Sunday, now no chuffing or injection fault coming up. I will have another go at no 4 as I couldn't get the copper washer out, I just put a new washer over the top. Still a very slight leak but nowhere near as bad as before. Great vid.

    Thanks. Ihave a Dacia Duster II diesel 1.5 of 2018. Just after completed the 5 yr warranty time, with only 21,000 km I suffered 2 failed injectors within 6 months. It cost me 1,200€ to have them replaced and a lot of time lost, searching and frustration. No fuel problem. The piezoelectric part, the called "sensor" is burnt.
    Why this happening? Low quality product ?
    Is there any better quality injector brand to replace the Siemens/Continental injectirs ?

    Thnx for the excellent video. My only experience of diesel injectors is with Mondeo ones that you unscrew to remove....so quite an education. I'm looking at my daughter's Modus that is overfuelling (I suspect).... white exhaust smoke strongly smelling of diesel... can you suggest how best to troubleshoot which injector causing this.... thanks in advance!

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Best way to check these injectors is by doing a leak off test, you can get the test kits on eBay fairly cheap , I’m sure there’s a link in my video description to a set 👍

      @@diydaly I'm just adding this in case anyone else with the same issue is looking for advice. I did a leakoff test, and cylinders #1, 2 & 3 returned 30ml. Cylinder #4 returned 35 ml. All in all, not too bad on balance. So, I started disconnecting each injector in turn and revving the engine and observing the smoke. Injectors #1, 2 & 3 being disconnected made no difference to the smoke - it was just as bad. Disconnected injector #4, and no smoke! So injector #4, which is only a year old, needs replacing. All the others are original ones.

    I've got a Megane 1.5 dci. When accelerating there is a tinkling tinny rattle from the engine but it's not there when the engine speed is constant, like cruising or on tick over, only when putting your foot down. I've been told is might be the diesel injectors need replacing, but how can they be noisy and causing the problem???

    Hi great video. My Clio 1.5 dci 100 cut out yesterday, and wouldn't start again, RAC got it going again, and told me it is misfiring and injector seals have failed. He told me that when I turn it off it won't start again, however I have left it a day, and it started straight back up with no lights on the dash? The codes were all relating to the injectors, however it starts and drives fine. It is jerky when pressing and letting off the accelerator, and help would be much appreciated. Thankyou.

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi thanks for the comment! I’m afraid you may have a faulty injector.. they are a mega common issue. A blowing injector seal won’t stop it running , you really need to do an injector leak off test and see if 1 in perticular is leaking off excessively.. worst case the fuel pump may have failed .. they breakdown and fill the system with tiny metal filings.. to check this you can open the fuel filter and check for filings.. only issues is the filters are sealed so you will need to replace the filter and just cut open the old one

    • @beechface1
      @beechface1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@diydaly Thanks for reply, i searched alot about this issue (random unstable idle 1.5dci, megane 2) and in most of the cases it was the primer pomp Pressure regulator, but i think i have the test first the return on all injectors, maybe one or two return valves from injectors are gone and need to be changed...

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AparatorulPoporului No problem :) yes the primers are fairly common , they can fail and let air into the system.. when they fail you can usually see air passing through the clear fuel lines, may be worth checking that first but a simple injector return leak off test would prove your injectors at fault or not :) I have replace a few fuel pumps in the past, they have broken down and put metal filings into the system but hopefully that's not your issue this time!
