    I'm so grateful I found your channel this week. I just postponed my test because I wasn't feeling academically ready. Now, after watching this, I feel like I can trust myself. I'll keep pushing forward, and I'll picture my future self and go for it!!
    Thank you so much for your videos!!

    “i saw every question known to mankind” LOLL literally feel like this at 80% finished with uworld 🤣 just took my first nbme and got a 57 (77% of passing). i feel confident that in a month i can pass. you’re SO RIGHT about the positive self talk. i do this as well in my exams all the time and i think it makes a huge difference 😁 when i glance at the answer choices first i say “ok i know this, i saw this,” then i read the stem. i will update you with good news hopefully 🙂

    Fear really hurts my performance. If I take an NBME practice test and I get a below-expectations score, I'll be anxious all day, brood about how I've done things wrong/cheated myself and procrastinated etc and how that has come back to bite me, but I've noticed that if I let go of that cloying suffocating sense of guilt while taking a practice test, I tend to do better. By better I mean slightly above average, by bad I mean below average. It's tricky, because truth is, this one test WILL determine our future..

    I must say you doctor , I heard so many motivational lectures regarding this usmle exams , your one is one of the best ! The way you represented the journey till becoming MD in Florida and driving ,and ,that dreamy back ground sound to pacify the struggling student's hearts - I felt like you just presented all of our dreams in your divine words! Thanks so much ! God bless you doc! We are fortunate to find a teacher and doctor like you amidst us .and extra thanks for that "self talk" thing .

    "you know it if you can teach it to others" is what I take back everytime I see a video of yours. Also, I liked the "emotional vampire" reference lol. I mean we all have few friends and family motivating us but it's really different when a psychiatrist motivates you. So thankyou for making some time for this much needed video! Looking forward to the exam in a few months now:)

    This the the exact boat I’ve been on these past few months. A roller coaster of emotions. This video gives me hope because you’ve given me a solid plan to move forward. Absolutely loved the little personal details you add in there about your own struggles and your own dreams. Gives it such a human touch, Dr. Neil.

    • @RandyNeilMD
      @RandyNeilMD  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jolie, It's a very hard journey...but well worth the struggle and sacrifice. I assure that there were many more struggles that I haven't shared ... Bottom line is that if you can STAY FOCUSED and POSITIVE... Maintain a clear picture of what your future looks like... it WILL become your REALITY. The earlier in life we realize that trick...the EASIER life becomes.

    You have a great way of teaching, helping peoples out in every way. I loved the way you helped me with the basics of biostats a long time back. Now looking at all the new videos on every subjects on your channel, all people taking test are getting benefitted from the way you help them understand in the simplest way possible. I am so jealous. Wish I had exposure to all these before. Still I go over some of them time and again and just refreshing the memories.
    You are truly blessed Doctor.

    As an old graduate it is frustrating process to start over things and many time I feel lost. There are so many negativity out there, as you said. I felt very refreshed and motivated by your talk. What a great motivational video,! I have taken 4 NBME exams and have passed one, don’t get me wrong but when you days I’m the video that you failed your 1st four NBMEs well, it’s encouraging and serves as an incentive for me to keep at it! Everything you said from passing 2 NMBEs to talking to yourself is highly motivating. I especially like the part where you visiones yourself as an md driving on a Florida highway 👍. I also think that setting higher standards is a great thing also getting up early - all great advice 😉 Will follow your advice .Thanks again Dr. McNeil you are the best.God bless,

    I did an NBME two weeks ago and got 120 :( so I took a week off from studying and watched Netflix. Now I'm regrouping and deciding how to reach my goal. I postponed my exam for the 10th time, for mid March.

      NK, REGROUP and then ATTACK in a new direction. Start from scratch... Start with BIOSTATS...master it, then move to the next and review, review , review...

    Hi, scheduled for August and then extended eligibility with new Step 2 test date in November. Unable to take test in Nov and will be cancelling with prometric. Do I need to wait a certain period of time before reapplying on ECFMG website for new Step 2 exam? Or can I just start a new application and pay the new fees etc straight away?

    Thank you Dr. Neil, for sending this message out there to those of us who need it most. My wife and I say that the universe acts in our favor when we truly want something - I can't help but know that this video was meant to come to my life, just at the perfect time. I'm testing in December. Thank you, I will keep all your teachings in mind, and will keep moving forward! Best wishes from Mexico!
