So real and her confidence is amazing for not getting frazzled and continuing to sing with her composure and actually hitting the notes better each time!

i’m really sorry you were treated that way :( i hope you’ve realized your worth. Jesus loves us all as individuals, and i really hope you know how valuable you are
Actually this is a thespian conference! every student here is here to learn and grow their craft!! I've never been to a conference seminar where other students were disrespectful to eachother! Jodie is a super well respected vocal coach in the community!!
I didn’t know this would be so satisfying but it’s so impressive I never thought ppl needed a voice coach I always figured you were either born with tht talent or not but this just changed my whole perception
Exactly, it takes talent (most of the time) and a great attitude to be open to direction, because human nature will lead us astray from reaching the pinical of our potential. Viktor Frankl pleaded with the human race to aim for the stars and trust in the brilliance of others to guide us to places we could not find by ourselves. I love these clips. It's an ancient demonstration of the human race learning how to survive with the aid of a brilliant elder ❤️
@jodie_langel can you pls tell me what she actually did to stop the cracking? She's singing ya ya ya but what if the words in the song aren't ya ya or raise your right finger? What is she doing to stop the cracking? Sorry but I'm a little slow. Thank you
I honestly feel like this type of coaching is very very similar to the intracies speech therapists teach. But at the highest skill level and nuances. Very intelligent people, so impressive.
@@jessicamaguire8905 you are absolutely 100% correct I’m a fourth grade teacher and I see the speech therapist pulling students left and right and they can work miracles in five minutes. They hear it they correct it done.
Most of speech and singing problems is about vowel placement in our throat. She fixed the vowel placement without telling her that's what she is doing. When singing if you think about keeping a yawning type feeling in the back of your throat you won't spread the vowel. @@jessicamaguire8905
Idk why, but this made me tear up! 😂 The encouragement from the coach, the girl’s genuine surprise that she did it, the wholesome crowd, chasing dreams. Ugh. 😭 This was a great palette cleanse from my usual algorithm lol
Literally! It is crazy how triumphant that sounded! Especially in that room with the acoustics. It's like an instant reaction, I just want to bawl haha
when i was in highschool i was also a thespian, the stuff they teach you is genuinely amazing and was one of the most rewarding experiences i’ve had! even if you are a little shy or embarrassed it’s always worth trying once.
As a composer, I LOVE this. I often write music for vocalists to sing, but to sing like another instrument. Some of the phonetics can be difficult, so using these techniques that the vocal coach did helps to keep the voice not just from cracking, but for staying in tune. P.S., for all singers, listen to James Horner's music from, "A Beautiful Mind," where he features vocalist Charlotte Church. This kind of singing can expand your gig rate, and film composers love vocalists who can sing in such a style.
I love seeing groups that are learning how to do something they are passionate about better!!! The support they all give, not only when she gets it, but when she messes up is beautiful!!!
And you deserve that group in your life. So never fking stop until you get it! But until then... every situation you get, no matter how awkward the location. Be that fking group for someone else! Go go go!
This reminds me of my college musical theater class. We had folks of every walk of their singing journey- from just learning how to sing the right notes to just tweaks. And man, the love and support in that room was unmatched
This video broke me man. There truly is nothing more beautiful in this world than when women & girls support each other. I’m happy to have been a fly on the wall to this moment of learning & growth. What a supportive community.
I would love to see technique other than belting. It’s obviously very popular in mt now but a good singer should also learn how to balance their chest voice with their head voice and mix
I agree. She's going to reach a ceiling in her range because she is not singing in head voice. That was all chest. If she was teaching her to sing in head voice it would also fix the vowel spreading that is occuring.
I recognize those lanyards, thespian festival is so amazing for young actors! My school didn’t get a troupe until my senior year so I only got to go once but it was one of the best experiences of my high school career.
She seemed so surprised with herself when she tried again, thats so impressive
There was so many emotions amd failure wasnt an option with this brilliant tutor.
Yeah because she sounded so good!! With a good teacher, you can reach levels you didn't know were possible
I know the feeling. It's so rewarding when you hit a note you didn't think you could hit.

I love how the rest of the class is cheering for her once she nails it ❤
