Hello VV Theory!!! I’ve been watching the channel for about 3 weeks now and I’m finally convinced on going to my first ever local tournament. Ik this deck isn’t the most popular but I’m running buggy just for fun but I feel like it’s pretty decent at times. I was wondering if you would ever make a deck for it, I would love some ideas!!!! I think playing passive against BY Luffy is a losing strategy most of the time with Lucci. It's already losing match up but if you give them time to setup like this stalling them at 3 life then your going to run into this scenario almost every time. If he attacked with leader on the second turn and then on the third turn attack with leader again following up with the 5c Kaku and 7k attack with Lucci that would've put them at 7don with 1 life and forced them to either counter the turn prior or have to force them to make themselves a 9k leader two turns earlier than what they did. Even the following turn they couldn't setup with Gecko Moria since they would've been a 9don and need 10don to Moria + Leader ability. Lucci could've gone for game turn 4 if they were more aggressive earlier or force the BY Luffy into giving up most of their hand and play off of top decks. Hard to say since this is all hypotheticals but it's how I win most of my Lucci games against BY Luffy. Great analysis and commentary and looking forward to what you think from the other matches. Especially the Blackbeard vs BY Luffy that got Michael to the Finals.
I tend to agree with this logic on the matchup, I mentioned it a bit in the video, it's like why not get a bit more aggressive earlier on? Otherwise this man is going to draw through his entire deck until he's at 4 Gecko's and go infinity loop on you like he did. Like you said, all conjecture, hard to say since we only know what happened, but would have been super interesting to see a more aggressive approach
