You failed to mention the Pretty Boy era of Floyd's career. The vast majority of the 26 KOs he accumulated happened during that era. Not even the filthiest of casuals can say Mayweather vs Augustus or Mayweather vs Gatti were boring fights. The only reason he fought "boring" in the Money Mayweather era was because he had already broken his hands several times, and he couldn't physically punch like before. Great video all around.

I agree for the most part. But i wouldn't say Floyd is the most influential boxer EVER, perhaps the most influential modern boxer. I can't imagine the amount of people that started to box or just to watch the sport after watching Ali or Tyson. These guys made boxing a mainstream sport and stablished what most people's expectations are for a boxing match: hard bouts with heavy punches and iconic knockouts.

Boxing really is a horrendous and dangerous sport, and I've always believed the fighters should get paid as much as possible for stepping into the ring.....and Floyd mastered this. Boxers wanting to protect their undefeated records might be a more recent thing but everything else you mentioned at the beginning I can't blame Mayweather for. Super fights have and were postponed before and have even fallen through multiple times in the past. Also the decline of Boxing around the 2000s I would put the blame more on the bad state of the heavyweight division in general and the Klitchko brothers dominating.
I am a MMA fan first and foremost and when i started getting more into boxing in these last 3 years i got frustrated very quickly that allot of the top guys just aren't willing to fight each other
The thing is the best have been fighting the best. Inoue moved to Bantam and literally fought all the best and is now fighting for undisputed against Paul Butler soon. Jermell Charlo just went undisputed at 154 this year, he has been fighting the best in the division hence why he has every belt. Shakur Stevenson just fought the 2 best at 130 and got 2 belts. Josh Taylor went undisputed at 140 last year, he fought all the best dudes at that division besides Zepeda. Canelo just went undisputed at 168 beating all the champs at 168. I feel like people think this is happens in a few divisions like 147 because Spence hasnt fought Crawford yet, but Spence litterally has been fighting the best welters for years the guy only needs one more belt. Mainly this narrative that the best don't fight the best comes from 135 though because its brings in the casual audience with fighters like Tank and Ryan Garcia so people think this happens in every other division without actually watching in other divisions .

Im a boxing casual (I’m a UFC fan) so don’t know the whole picture but you’re explaining it very well and I’ve learned that boxing is deep in quicksand with promoters, broadcasters, belts etc, keep it up 👍
Love him or hate him but Floyd was a genius when it came to promoting his fights. He knew that fans came to see him lose and made himself a villain to sell tickets. One of the greatest ever who still holds the records to beat most world champions!
I don't think Floyd himself ruined the sport but the way people/fighters misunderstood what being undefeated means did imo, not taking risks, imitated or coping how floyd thought, etc. I do think that the boxer being the promoter can work if done right, sometimes the promotion itself does jack all with them and were left wondering "man if only". As for YT Boxing, it's just armatur boxing but with people that have a big following in some way, that's how I see it, some of those guys in that scene have been boxing way before this sub genre accorded.
I disagree with Floyd being the reason people say the sport is boring. People watched Floyd more than any other boxer. Pacquiao's style fit the description of what casual fans want and even Manny didn't out sell Floyd. Even now with Floyd retired he's still doing numbers participating in exhibitions. If anything he brought a lot of exposure to the sport. If people really thought he was the reason for boxing being boring, people would have eventually stopped watching him. But he's still watched today.
Boxing popularity has been declining for decades. He doesn't draw crowds, he loses them. A big part of the problem is that you genuinely have the organization thinking people don't like the "brutality". The actual organization doesn't do a good job promoting its own stuff. They would rather promote someone like Floyd because it's "a safe bet" as the sport for years has lost interest and expects people to pay more for it. Boxing won't really resurge until the organization behind it changes significantly.

Couple of points: 1) interpersonally seemed like a super arrogant and unlikable dude, so he was just never my favorite as a younger guy looking back on OGs 2) Ali is the main reason my dude Larry Holmes gets basically no credit. Between the actual fight where the entire narrative was Ali's age (and Ali fans forever holding a grudge from seeing Holmes batter their fallen icon). I maintain personally that no matter when that fight happens, Holmes has the style, size and grit to get the job done. Pretty boy Floyd was winning and dominating the lightweight division before he became MONEY mayweather. He fought Augustus, corrales, Castillo, gatti. I know that he was hated for picking some fights but it only happened when Manny came into the spotlight but still he fought marquez, Mosley, cotto, young Canelo, freakin maidana. Remember, he fought and defeated 23 champions. Its true that today's fighters are following his footprints(lightweight-welterweight) but it's quite disrespectful to compare his legacy to today's fighters.
All the things you listed (Except for the TH-cam boxing) where problems before Floyd Mayweather. Although he didn't help the situation the majority of the blame has too go too the boxing organisations (WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO) they have been slowly killing the sport since at least the 90s with their greed.
The only thing that I think you could blame Mayweather for is the sacredness of the undefeated record. Sanctioning bodies share far more of the blame as to why superfights don't happen because it's literally their job to make boxing a sport. And then to your point about Mayweather being too boring for casual audiences, how do you explain him being the most watched fighter? He was watched way more when he wasn't getting knockouts than when he was. And then finally, exhibitions and gimmick boxing predates Floyd. Muhammad Ali popularized them.

He did some good to boxers, even though he personally didn't care about it. His defensive style proved that you can be an elite boxer and preserve your health. And of course, the money part is described well enough in the video itself. For us, fans, neither their health nor their paycheck matters, we just want to see competitive entertaining fights as frequently as possible. The verdict is final and not subject to appeal: he did *bad* to boxing.

Floyd Mayweather undefeated record holds leverage compared to the undefeated champions of today, 50-0 has 26-0 in world title fights (over 50% of his career) beat 22 world champions in 24 fights (2 rematches Castillo and maidana) close to 50% of his resume, nobody today is doing what Floyd did, Floyd beat 16 consecutive world champions, not even Canelo (who is considered the best today) could’ve done that, he took 2 losses trying to even win vs 16 world champions.
As a pure sport, I think it’s inarguably his impact is mostly negative, but as a money making venture and entertainment spectacle, his influence has been very good

Okay, so people have gotta be able to separate Floyd's amazing skills, and career accolades from his impact on the sport itself. Floyd is an AMAZING fighter and one of, if not THE BEST, defensive fighter of all time. Floyd is also unique because his career has two separate fighting styles and personas. "Pretty Boy" Floyd and "Money" Mayweather . Both having distinctive pros and cons. But ultimately, I believe Floyd's influence on boxing hurt the "Fan's" experience and not the fighter; Which ultimately hurt THE SPORT as a whole. First, the fans are denied seeing the best fights because fighters are so afraid of losing their UNDEFEATED status due to Mayweather promotions making such a big deal over it. This made young fighters TERRIFIED of LOSING, not necessarily of fighting eachother. This robbed the FANS of amazing fights like we got back in the day. It also drove up fighter's prices and purse bids. Which made fights harder to be made. But on the flip side, this let fighters have more control over their careers and how much they got out of the sport. So Ulimately Floyd was a FIGHTER'S fighter but ended up short changing fans. It's just the nature of the game.
I think the most influential fighter in history was Joe Louis. He was the reason so many thousands and thousands of young impressionable, oppressed people of colour during the 1900s came to the ring to make a statement and prove they're worth to the overarching cultural racism dominated by people of lighter skin. The art of boxing was so influential, especially for those people. One of those boxers happens to have been a young boy, Sugar Ray Robinson, undoubtedly the most perfect fighter to ever have been recorded wearing boxing gloves. Not to mention Ali, the widely regarded greatest fighter to ever live, talked about Joe in high regard and was even inspired by him as well. Truly Joe Louis in my opinion is an amazing person, a hard worker and a good role model for any person no matter their colour, shape or size.
Boxers deserve all the money they get, instead of getting exploited like in the UFC where the fighters are the one who generate the majority of profit but get small potatoes in comparison to what the higher ups pay themselves (for doing what amounts to nothing btw).

But the obsession with being undefeated and scrapping every cent possible to the point where a super fight can be dragged on for 4-5+ years has destroyed the sport. When you're the challenger you beat the champion or make excuses. The marcos Maidanna back to back fights derail your arguments about ducking. He literally granted the rematch because Macro was dogging him in the first 3 rounds. So much so that casuals had marcos winning. The best way to describe Floyd is adaptable some fights are won outside of the ring and the win is what's most important.
I say TH-cam really boxing started with the exhibition bout between Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. After that fight, we saw not only TH-camrs, but also Rapper and Co doing it to. Every else I agree with.

I think the boring boxing problem comes because of the current rules and how these fights works. Floyd to his credit just merely made those rules work to his advantage, getting the most money with the least risk to himself and his business. He's pretty damn smart on and off the ring, leaving nothing to chance. Coupled that with his talent and hardwork resulted to his success. Perhaps a tweak to the boxing rules could make it exciting again. Maybe if the rules favoured aggression and knock outs more than points? Thats something for people who know more about the sport than I am to figure out.
the first time i know and watch floyd fight was against Canelo. And as a casual myself back then i found the fight to be very interesting and i become fans of him. He didn't even clinch in that fight and just dodging all Canelo's punch and that was super exiting to watch
Modern boxers focus too much on Floyd's undefeated record and his earnings. They seem to forget he literally had to fight everyone to get to the position of Money Mayweather. Fighters like Lopez, Garcia, Davis, Charlo and Benavitez have yet to fight each other. They lack the old school mentality that the best should only face the best.

You failed to mention the Pretty Boy era of Floyd's career. The vast majority of the 26 KOs he accumulated happened during that era. Not even the filthiest of casuals can say Mayweather vs Augustus or Mayweather vs Gatti were boring fights. The only reason he fought "boring" in the Money Mayweather era was because he had already broken his hands several times, and he couldn't physically punch like before. Great video all around.

I can't imagine the amount of people that started to box or just to watch the sport after watching Ali or Tyson. These guys made boxing a mainstream sport and stablished what most people's expectations are for a boxing match: hard bouts with heavy punches and iconic knockouts.

Boxers wanting to protect their undefeated records might be a more recent thing but everything else you mentioned at the beginning I can't blame Mayweather for. Super fights have and were postponed before and have even fallen through multiple times in the past. Also the decline of Boxing around the 2000s I would put the blame more on the bad state of the heavyweight division in general and the Klitchko brothers dominating.

I am a MMA fan first and foremost and when i started getting more into boxing in these last 3 years i got frustrated very quickly that allot of the top guys just aren't willing to fight each other
The thing is the best have been fighting the best. Inoue moved to Bantam and literally fought all the best and is now fighting for undisputed against Paul Butler soon. Jermell Charlo just went undisputed at 154 this year, he has been fighting the best in the division hence why he has every belt. Shakur Stevenson just fought the 2 best at 130 and got 2 belts. Josh Taylor went undisputed at 140 last year, he fought all the best dudes at that division besides Zepeda. Canelo just went undisputed at 168 beating all the champs at 168. I feel like people think this is happens in a few divisions like 147 because Spence hasnt fought Crawford yet, but Spence litterally has been fighting the best welters for years the guy only needs one more belt. Mainly this narrative that the best don't fight the best comes from 135 though because its brings in the casual audience with fighters like Tank and Ryan Garcia so people think this happens in every other division without actually watching in other divisions .

Credit to the heavy boxers (especially Anthony Joshua, because he started this) for the best fighting the best. Heavy weight boxing is popping off again because the best are always fighting. AJ might have lost his belts but he keeps improving, I want to see him fight Fury and Usyk again.

I disagree with Floyd being the reason people say the sport is boring. People watched Floyd more than any other boxer. Pacquiao's style fit the description of what casual fans want and even Manny didn't out sell Floyd. Even now with Floyd retired he's still doing numbers participating in exhibitions. If anything he brought a lot of exposure to the sport. If people really thought he was the reason for boxing being boring, people would have eventually stopped watching him. But he's still watched today.
Boxing popularity has been declining for decades. He doesn't draw crowds, he loses them.
A big part of the problem is that you genuinely have the organization thinking people don't like the "brutality". The actual organization doesn't do a good job promoting its own stuff. They would rather promote someone like Floyd because it's "a safe bet" as the sport for years has lost interest and expects people to pay more for it.
Boxing won't really resurge until the organization behind it changes significantly.

Now I do agree that boxing does a terrible job at promoting their fighters. Usually fighters have to promote themselves. I don't think the reason is people not liking "brutality." Pacquiao in that same era was a big draw. All his fights were brutal. I think boxing doesn't showcase their fighters enough. The fighter has to make themselves the draw.
Boxing will never be like how it was in the 80s and 90s. Way too many issues with the sport. Fighters don't fight as often. They like to delay fights. I already mentioned the lack of promotion. Fighters don't want to fight the best like they should. It will never be the same.

Couple of points: 1) interpersonally seemed like a super arrogant and unlikable dude, so he was just never my favorite as a younger guy looking back on OGs 2) Ali is the main reason my dude Larry Holmes gets basically no credit. Between the actual fight where the entire narrative was Ali's age (and Ali fans forever holding a grudge from seeing Holmes batter their fallen icon). I maintain personally that no matter when that fight happens, Holmes has the style, size and grit to get the job done. Due to circumstances however, Larry will never get his proper due from that victory, or indeed the scope of his career which i believe eclipsed Ali, and if not for 2 poor decision losses to Spinks that would be an ironclad claim. 3) Ali basically set the precedent that would eventually kill boxing; the idea that personality is more important than skills or the actual fights. No boxer before Ali used circumstances outside the ring to sway the outcome inside the ring the same way as Ali,* and he was the MASTER of that concept, which I personally despise from boxing, new and old.

Pretty boy Floyd was winning and dominating the lightweight division before he became MONEY mayweather. He fought Augustus, corrales, Castillo, gatti. I know that he was hated for picking some fights but it only happened when Manny came into the spotlight but still he fought marquez, Mosley, cotto, young Canelo, freakin maidana. All the things you listed (Except for the TH-cam boxing) where problems before Floyd Mayweather. Although he didn't help the situation the majority of the blame has too go too the boxing organisations (WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO) they have been slowly killing the sport since at least the 90s with their greed.
The only thing that I think you could blame Mayweather for is the sacredness of the undefeated record. Sanctioning bodies share far more of the blame as to why superfights don't happen because it's literally their job to make boxing a sport. And then to your point about Mayweather being too boring for casual audiences, how do you explain him being the most watched fighter? He was watched way more when he wasn't getting knockouts than when he was. And then finally, exhibitions and gimmick boxing predates Floyd. Muhammad Ali popularized them.

Floyd Mayweather undefeated record holds leverage compared to the undefeated champions of today, 50-0 has 26-0 in world title fights (over 50% of his career) beat 22 world champions in 24 fights (2 rematches Castillo and maidana) close to 50% of his resume, nobody today is doing what Floyd did, Floyd beat 16 consecutive world champions, not even Canelo (who is considered the best today) could’ve done that, he took 2 losses trying to even win vs 16 world champions.

If a sport can’t thrive when the star players have the ultimate say in how or why they play, the sport needs to reconfigure how it operates.
Okay, so people have gotta be able to separate Floyd's amazing skills, and career accolades from his impact on the sport itself. Floyd is an AMAZING fighter and one of, if not THE BEST, defensive fighter of all time. Floyd is also unique because his career has two separate fighting styles and personas. "Pretty Boy" Floyd and "Money" Mayweather . Both having distinctive pros and cons. But ultimately, I believe Floyd's influence on boxing hurt the "Fan's" experience and not the fighter; Which ultimately hurt THE SPORT as a whole. First, the fans are denied seeing the best fights because fighters are so afraid of losing their UNDEFEATED status due to Mayweather promotions making such a big deal over it. This made young fighters TERRIFIED of LOSING, not necessarily of fighting eachother. This robbed the FANS of amazing fights like we got back in the day. It also drove up fighter's prices and purse bids. Which made fights harder to be made. But on the flip side, this let fighters have more control over their careers and how much they got out of the sport. So Ulimately Floyd was a FIGHTER'S fighter but ended up short changing fans. It's just the nature of the game.

I think the most influential fighter in history was Joe Louis. He was the reason so many thousands and thousands of young impressionable, oppressed people of colour during the 1900s came to the ring to make a statement and prove they're worth to the overarching cultural racism dominated by people of lighter skin. The art of boxing was so influential, especially for those people. One of those boxers happens to have been a young boy, Sugar Ray Robinson, undoubtedly the most perfect fighter to ever have been recorded wearing boxing gloves. Not to mention Ali, the widely regarded greatest fighter to ever live, talked about Joe in high regard and was even inspired by him as well. Truly Joe Louis in my opinion is an amazing person, a hard worker and a good role model for any person no matter their colour, shape or size.
Boxers deserve all the money they get, instead of getting exploited like in the UFC where the fighters are the one who generate the majority of profit but get small potatoes in comparison to what the higher ups pay themselves (for doing what amounts to nothing btw).

Just wanted to ask, how many videos and how much time did it take you to blow up and was it random or do you know how to manipulate the algorithm or something? Like for example that Ryan Garcia and Tank video did 1.1mill as of now and I'm just curious if you did something or if it just happened by chance.

And also 3) how long does each one take to make?
Just focus on taking a good concept and making it the highest of quality. I didn't promote the Ryan Garcia vs Tank video at all. TH-cam' algorithm really works to push high quality, long form content. My videos usually take 10 hours (research, recording, and editing). Good luck

When you're the challenger you beat the champion or make excuses. The marcos Maidanna back to back fights derail your arguments about ducking. He literally granted the rematch because Macro was dogging him in the first 3 rounds. So much so that casuals had marcos winning. I think the boring boxing problem comes because of the current rules and how these fights works. Floyd to his credit just merely made those rules work to his advantage, getting the most money with the least risk to himself and his business. He's pretty damn smart on and off the ring, leaving nothing to chance. Coupled that with his talent and hardwork resulted to his success.
Perhaps a tweak to the boxing rules could make it exciting again. Maybe if the rules favoured aggression and knock outs more than points? Thats something for people who know more about the sport than I am to figure out.

Modern boxers focus too much on Floyd's undefeated record and his earnings. They seem to forget he literally had to fight everyone to get to the position of Money Mayweather.
