That San Martin SN0136-G Longines inspired piece looks amazing! Thanks for getting that in for review. As for bracelets and getting a perfect fit I told San Martin there's a flaw in their design in that the on-the-fly gives you about 9mm of adjustment but an oyster bracelet link measured screw to screw is about 11 or 12 mm (from memory). In any case the clasp adjustment doesn't cover the length of the oyster link. So you can be like me and take a link out and take the adjustment all the way out and be too tight, and put a link in and go all the way in, and still be too loose. It's infuriating - I told them they need half links like some of the newer Proximas (which is a Godsend!). Thankfully their other bracelets like Jubilee, Beads of Rice and Engineer-style bracelets have individual links smaller than the oyster links, which allows for being able to get the perfect fit on the OTF clasp. It's the length of the oyster link that kills the fit. I find for their oyster bracelet, I have to stick with the standard San Martin 4-pin clasp to make those wearable, because their OTF clasp is a bit longer, and puts it squarely in the "danger zone" of no good fit for my roughly 7" wrist. For the SN0136-G, I'm guessing that the H-link link is smaller than an oyster link, which allows you to find a sweet spot on the OTF clasp? Would be great if you could measurea removable h-link from screw-hole to screw-hole and let us know in the full review! This beauty is now on my radar (even though I have 17 watches to sell haha!)

Hi John, Just wanted to say that with the Steeldive Doxa Homage, both parts of the bezels are supposed to turn together. This homage watch has got this wrong. After all they both turn as one in the original Doxa. I know as I have the original one.
I must agree with @davesadler3752 that the Steeldive bezel is crazy. So you can rotate the bottom time markers but the elapsed time marker is fixed. Divers or not all I can think is WHY?????
Sad to hear about your back, John. Great unboxing video..mass production.😀 Love the new Steeldive Doxa homage, just bought it on the bracelet...it seems that every time I watch one of your videos, it costs me money. Just when I had vowed, "No more watches!" Oh well, no more watches as from tomorrow...Always great videos John..keep up the good work...
Forget any watches for a minute, how are you feeling? I hope you are on the mend. So glad to see you back able to do things and feeling a bit better. I feel for you, I took a bad fall years ago and still have some issues. Wishing you all the best, please be careful. This was a great video of some nice lesser known pieces, thank you and wish you all the best.
Hi there and thanks. Have been on my back for a few days while all the swelling and bruising comes out. Waiting on MRI results and if all clear will go to my chiropractor to see if he can get rid of the sciatica I now have in both legs. That's new and is not fun. Took my time with this and shot it over 2 days in 3 sessions so I am not going at it gung ho. A few weeks and I should be fine.
I really like the new SD1967 and am glad to see the bracelet offering. One of my next purchases. I'm hoping that SD Engineer store might eventually offer it with an engineer bracelet, which I think would look sharp (BOR/jubilee alternative).
It's a great piece but the San Martin certainly matches it on quality and has a better crystal though the ISO rating and the Citizen Pro master moniker are not to be sniffed at. The NY0040 is what got me back into watches 7 years ago so changing it out for this newer version was tough!
Well done for getting them all opened for today 👍 . I would be interested in a review of the Baltany, I also like the Hanhart and I like the way they chose a movement with running seconds. The Militado looked good, as did the Watchdive. I thought the very affordable chrono looked like it might have an alloy case. Glad you finally got a good San Martin, I love my sn0116 gmt, and that Citizen is a beauty 😎
Thanks buddy. Two days and three sittings as I now how sciatica down both legs as a result of my fall. Waiting for all the bruising to settle and for MRI results before going to get re aligned at my chiropractor... See it's not just bezels that need adjusted haha!
Like you, I am pining for the Hanhart, so I shall have to give the Baltany serious consideration. I would appreciate a review. Thanks for the video, John…. I hope you heal soon!
I bought the McCoy Hanhart 39mm flyback chrono Panda version with the AMT movement recently. It's not cheap but very well made as German watches usually are, and priced very competitively with other watches using the movement. Quite a haul. The Watchdives has the most instant appeal. Put it in my cart for the next sale. Stay well. 😉

Hi Michael. No dye was used as the MRI had been previously scheduled due to the issues I have been having of late. After the fall X rays ware taken to make sure there were no obvious fractures to my back and hips... And my right wrist and elbow! The MRI is to see if there are any further changes from my last one 4 years ago and to make sure that the recent fall has not made any major changes. I have been on painkillers and have fitness / flexibility regime I adhere to so it helps but the issue has been more problematic of late :)

Another great video John. Just looking at the Watch Dive watch. How do you find Watch Dive and Aliexpress to deal with I’m in the UK ? Have you ever had any problems? Thanks for all your work 👌
Hi Barry and thanks for watching. I have dealt with AliExpress for nearly 2 years now. 15 months as JWJ. I have bought around 140 watches in that time and have never lost a penny. Sure I have had the occasional issue but most of the time these have been resolved without fuss. Those that have been problematic, AliExpress themselves have done very well. Where they haven't, PayPal have been the back up. Tbh I have had more hassle with eBay and Amazon in recent months. Amazon especially are useless at sorting problems whereas eBay will get there but can take an eternity to resolve the simplest issue. If you have your wits about you, know what you are doing and take photos and videos of received packages, you won't have issues :)
Nice to hear you're fighting fit again. Wish I could the say the same but with 2 small children they bring everything home from daycare. Really love that Citizen but still on my 6.4 inch wrist I'm not so sure I'd be able to pull it off. To be honest there are quite a few Citizen watches I've looked at this year as they really seemed to have upped their game. Oh and finally after over a month the Aliexpress sale watches arrived and then went straight into wrapping paper so I still have to wait until Monday to see them as long as they don't get lost on the flight back to UK😒
That steeldive is impressive dimensions wise similar to my seiko land tortoise but lot cheaper! That shark master is something else just read the listing blue has a glass bezel insert? Never seen that on a watch before not sure how it would wear etc
John the Baltany isn’t a bad substitute for the Hanhart 417ES. I bought the reissue earlier in the year & it’s a beautiful watch mate! I’m an absolute Steve McQueen tragic! Hence why I got the Hanhart in the first place.👍🏼😎
Glad to hear that you're feeling better John. Love the Steeldive Doxa homage, but that giant logo on the dial completely ruins it for me. I wish Steeldive would drop their logo completely now and just use the brand name on their watches. I'm a Hanhart fan too, so would like to see a review of the Baltany. I'm hoping that they will now start using that Miyota movement in all their future chronographs. Nice selection of watches John.
Glad to hear you're recovering after that spill, and great to see you back. That SD1967 wears even better than the SD1970 Willard homage? I'm impressed! The SN0036-G-B has a perfectly aligned bezel but the SN0109-G-GMT was off by quite a bit. I thought I could be clever and pop the bezel off and push the insert out and reposition it but I destroyed the bezel in the process, so now it's an expensive spare bracelet. I rebought and asked them please to check the bezel before sending, and the new one turned up perfectly aligned. Such a relief!!! Maybe that was just luck.

... and I was getting really frastrated. Still sore and had to shoot this over 3 sessions in 2 days as normal sitting is killing me just now. Getting better though :)
I'm finally early how about that. Now I am a bit sad hearing your giving up the bronze IXDAO but I'm glad you wore it and enjoyed it for so long I was hoping you'd wear it even with everyone in the house saying it didn't suit you but I have to say that green and gilt San Martin is absolutely gorgeous I don't know what it is about that color combo bit it really does just work. Finally I just wanna say I'm glad you're feeling better I can't imagine it was fun but at least you've gotten in a few new watches to make up for it.
Hi Tomas. Me not keeping the IXDAO was my decision simply because The San Martin is better AND I have a Smiths Watch coming into my collection so 2 in - 2 out. I cannot afford to keep everything unfortunately... It's an expensive hobby as it is. Thanks for watching and for your continued support :)
@@johnswatchjoint That's fair its like you once told me wear what you like the way you want to I maybe paraphrasing but your right and the San Martin is definitely worth keeping. I'm just glad my schedule has let up enough for me to catch the video on time.
I like that Steeldive! Especially the the bezel with that polished outer section. I'm digging that Baltany! More Miyota 6S21 powered watches please!! This watch is well worth a full review. The new San Martin is my all time favourite San Martin as well! A real beauty!!! 👌
Hi Alex and great to be back. Both of them are staying in my collection so two more including the bronze IXDAO had to go. I want to review the Baltany so we'll see if I get more requests :)
@@johnswatchjoint Oh, and speedy recovery!
Cheers my friend :)
Hi John, please review the Baltany Type 20... thanks
I will. :)
the shark master looks tough I really like it
I really like this one. A small wrist dive watch champ methinks!
He’s back baby, let’s go! 🙏
Haha. Thx :)
Hello mate, I ordered a pagani on AliExpress but didn't arrive yet. It says shipment cancelled and it also says awaiting delivery. I don't understand if it's cancelled or if it's going to be delivered, I didn't cancel! Can you help me understand this please, this is my second order from AliExpress
Hi there. If you watch my 11.11 Haul of Shame video from 2 weeks ago, I covered this exact scenario in order that you can get the order completed and get your refund. It is towards the end of the video and I did it because it has happened to me recently and to others as there have been shipment issues with carriers and not AliExpress.
@@johnswatchjoint thanks a lot for your super quick reply! I'll go watch that video 🙏
No problem. Remember that you always have PayPal as back up. Copy and photograph / screenshot everything!
@@johnswatchjoint no PayPal in India! Bought with credit card mate
Section 75 :)
Lovely thorn a11
The NIW comes up at over 100 in price. Cant seem to find it at that price.
If you use the links I provide in the video description it comes up even cheaper than the price I quoted... £32!
I leave links to make it as easy as possible for you :)
What I like about the San Martin Longines homage is that it's 39mm, rather than Longines' own 41mm.
Yeah it's a great size choice :)
This a new camera dude or WHAT? Picks up details like a mofo god daumn!! Insane how closer to seeing watches in person it is compared to literally ANY channel man,ku-fkin-dos!
Hi Charles. This is my Google Pixel 6a phone and some of the work in this is pretty rough and ready due to my recent accident. There are some cracking channels out there that put me to shame. Gary at I like Watches and Harvind at Wristwatching really are the standard I am trying to achieve but I am getting there. I learn everyday. Thanks for watching and please remember to subscribe if you haven't already :)
Please, review the Baltany.
It will happen :)
I cant wear bronze as my body acids would eat it up in a day
My Specht & Sohne Engineer had split pins ... so be aware of that.
Yeah. Will be careful as usual so as not to lose anything :)
Citizen was the only one of interest to me.
Ah well can't please everyone....
36mm watch looks better on your wrist.
For me personally I like Watches around 36mm to 38mm but as a watch reviewer I would have no views if those were the only sizes I catered for haha. Just got my Smiths Timefactors Everest in Today. Gilt finish in 36mm with the new Jubilee style bracelet t option. Suits me perfectly along with my Marloe Tay 35mm :)
@@johnswatchjoint Interest in 36mm watch sizes is slowly growing. It will take some more time, but its coming back. Once you get used to the 36mm watch your larger watches begin to have less allure.
I don't know if I am the only one but this video is blurry, never had such problems with your any other videos
? You are the only one. It was shot a bit quicker given that my back is killing me so a couple of transition shots were not as I would have liked but it's 99 percent OK? If you were one of the first to view it, it could have still been it's HD rendition phase but most likely your own settings are not on full HD?
What a haul, John! That’s 2 months worth of content for me on your desk hahaha. Love that new Promaster. I guess we’ve twinned again because I’m waiting for a Promaster to arrive in the mail too. Went with the NY0085. 🤿
Very cool. Perhaps we can do a Promaster colab on how Citizen continue to service the budget sector... What do you think?
@@johnswatchjointlove that idea! I’ll drop you an email when I’m fresh tomorrow ;)
No worries Harvind :)
