I like the idea of having it already hooked to the helmet when you put it on. I have the same one you bought so Im gonna try that and see how difficult it is to get my belts on.
HANS is a replacement for the neck foam, at least that is the way the NHRA has it worded. The neck foam would give you some more protection if you desired, but it would probably make it even more difficult strap in.

At least in the truck, I have enough room to get it on while in the truck. With the belts draped over cage I can easily get them over the HANS.
Do you still have to wear the neck collar between the HANS and the helmet or does the HANS replace that?

I believe that if you dont run the collar you have to use a head sock to protect your neck from fire.
