Its nov 18th 2023.just watched this for the 1st time. Another fantastic show! Im 67 and watched every episode of star gate and sg atlantis and always loved every character in both shows. To get to see them like this is so incredible. I always drempt of being an actor and to be in these two shows would have been a dream come true. Thank you for doing this.
The fans are DEFINITELY still into it! New fans are forming all the time making it a much bigger audience. My daughter and I enjoy specifically Stargate: Atlantis and makes for great bonding time.
Yeah I wish all 3 would have had at least one more season. I enjoyed the first season of Evil, and Seal Team. Besides that I seem to put on one of the Stargate show's. I so want to know what happened to the Adguard, and the aliens in the Atlantis series. The ones they showed from the episode where the ship is jumping through parallel universes. That and from SG-1 when they blow up the sun. Glad to hear your daughter is keeping the series relevant. My nephew and daughter are more fans of Atlantis also. They say SG-1 seems old.
I am 28 years old and still remember watching Stargate Atlantis airing on TV for the first time. Atlantis, for me, is my childhood, and I will forever be thankful for the show, the cast, and the memories they gave me.
I miss Robert Picardo in anything! Just don't see him enough. I introduced my nieces & nephews to all the Stargates, as well as Trek & Wars. Also, now, their kids too. 3 generations of fans here.
I'm a brand new fan of the Stargate franchise, started watching two months ago, already finished SG-1 and I'm nearly finished with SGA. I am completely in awe, and my heart aches for more! I would love to see the return of Dr. McKay, John Sheppard, Elizabeth Weir, Sam Carter and Jack O'Neill! But especially Rodney, because seriously, he is incredible. Thank You David Hewlett for creating such an amazing character :)
Awesome! Did you watch SGU and Origins? I'd love to hear your take on them. I didn't particularly LOVE Origins, but SGU has grown on me a lot by the third watching.
Yeah I hope everything works out and we get to see the gate again. I had to watch episode 200 again. I think a platform like Prime would be great to launch it. Us older fans can get pretty busy so to catch a show at the same time every week can be a problem. That way the ratings are not dependent on that particular time slot. I know I don't have a problem if they do two or 3 episodes giving the history of past events and even catching us up if they start years in the future. I do know this I would rather watch them as puppets than as a CW type cast. Let's go SG-4 or SG-BC
She looks really good. Maybe even a bit more attractive now than then. I always loved her voice though. That smoky hitch in her voice is just too compelling.
technically, the wormhole drive should make that possible, IF they have an idea of the last known coordinates of destiny. Which, i'm sure was being constantly updated for as long as they were communicating up until cryo.

Its probably seen a lot of wear.. but I bet the Stargate in Atlantis.. boosted by the Langeran Naquda deposits.. could form a wormhole.. maybe a jump hole.. ala.. Babylon 5 that could finally bring the Destiny home. It would make a swell movie. - I would lay odds this is exactly what Brad Wright had in mind when he brought back McKay and O'Neil and Jackson in their clandestine mission on Langara. But I also bet Eli was saved by a reluctant Ascended Stowaway on board the Destiny.. a new crew member for their Third Season.. it was definitely rolling in that direction.

@@joey_after_midnight I always felt that three zero-point modules would carry enough weight to dial a ninth chevron address, which would seem powerful enough to fulfill the energy requirements. Also, the Lantian gates are newer and are also closer than the Milky Way gates. But they’d have to find a way to override the requirement to dial from Earth

Atlantis was/is something really special. It is a show I can watch any episode at any time and enjoy the experience. The characters felt so realized and relatable. The death of Dr. Carson Beckett still brings me to tears every time.

OMG this was less than a month ago! My 2 favorite shows of all time SG1 & Atlantis! 2 shows that got stronger and more entertaining the longer they were on. And to see all my favorite Actors still thriving. I was a huge fan back in the day as I am a Vancouverite! Please let there be a 4th series with plenty of Cameo's for you all!

What a show ! Firstly David you did a great job, you kept the whole show moving & balanced between your guests (which must have been tough with so many charismatic & interesting people!) This show was a worthy 100 & sums up in many ways Dial The Gate . Your show brings back many happy memories while the insight of actors , producers, writers and all associated keeps the SG Universe alive! I look forward to the return of Dial the Gate in the Autumn, and hope the shows continuous momentum is aided by the hype from Amazon of a new SGU show. Please keep up the good work , it is much appreciated. On a side note .. have you written any books on the SG Universe or have any merchandise in order for people to support your efforts?
I grew up watching stargate sg-1 and stargate atlantis but it has been extremely fun going back through the series as an adult and actually appreciating everything that made the show what it is and I just love it so much
I’m late to the Stargate franchise, decades late. I watched the original movie in the 90’s and loved it. Now with SG-1, SGA and SGU streamable I binged watched all episodes this past month and not only was I floored by the story, the acting, character development but the sheer brilliance of the Stargate saga is unmatched. Shows like this need to still exist, it blows away modern shows since this is a timeless masterpiece. Sad to say I’m hooked on a show that no longer exists, haven’t watched the video yet but I hope they bring this back in the near future. Can’t imagine watching this weekly just for it to end on a cliff hanger, just to wait a decade+ for a maybe relaunch.
SGA was my first introduction to stargate. I found it on the SciFi channel in 2016 or so. My goodness! I’m kinda bamboozled at how this show in all of its iterations has become meaningful to me ! I had retired from a long and successful career due to burnout. I was depressed. This show, SG1 and Star Trek have kept me optimistic. The stories told are wonderful fun. I needed that as I was definitely going down. I thank you all for the many hours of entertainment and escape you’ve given me. And YOU TOO David Read @ Dial the Gate. I watch everything I can find that you’ve done.
Just wanted to shout out the dial the gate/ gateworld crew. I grew up LOVING Stargate and studied computers and joined the military in large part to this show. Thank you for keeping the drive alive to one day revive the show. And if nothing else keeping the spirit of the show exploration and humor alive!
That was absolutely brilliant !! I've been waiting a month or more for it and it was worth it. The banter and joy of everyone was beautiful to behold and the stories were brilliant too. Fabulous questions and lovely honesty in the thoughtful answers. I only got to see a few of the SGA actors before we lost Chevron, and David Hewlett and Rachel Luttrell (Pocket Princess) were the only ones out of this crowd I've met in real life, so it was lovely to see the others and I could have happily sat through another 8 hrs of that . lol. I've probably seen Atlantis, fully, 4 times - I'm on my 5th watch-through as I write this! Was good to see some of the cast in this way, seeing as I grew up watching SG1 and Atlantis. Cheers for this pal, was enjoyable :)
i did not know there was a second channel for all this... i watch alot of the gate world channel. but i loved every minute of this. great work and i am so looking forward to more Stargate. Growing SG-1 was something i could always look forward to. atlantis came out and it was just nostalgic being back in that universe... i always related more to rodney... Oddly enough. maybe not the super smarts. but i was always pretty tech savvy. a loner. not a lot of friends. but was always there for the ppl around him that cared. so i truly hope that any show that comes out can be as impactful on others lives as SG-1 and Atlantis were for mine... and i hope the Actors and actress's like u said as well in your interviews. truly know how inspiring and life changing there work was in that show. Hands Down for me the 2 best shows to ever exist. i love star trek... but stargate for me will always be the best imo
My favorite role of Mr. Picardo's is on The Orville. I'm a multi-IP-fan - Trek, Stargate, The Orville, pre-disney Star Wars, Dune, original BSG... And the SG1 Roleplaying Game. I love that one of the cast pointed out that Lucas quote... Spance Fantasy is fun, too... I watched SGA when it aired, and a couple years ago, I rewatched it on a binge... It is still excellent. And this made my day... 4 months after it went up...
I was a teen when i watched the original SG movie with Kurt Russel. I remember commenting to my dad at the end of the movie how it would be great to have a TV series based off the movie. OH BOY did that comment age well, and I am happy for it!
Its strange to me to hear that Robert Picardo character was unlikable and people where surprised that he became a leader. I mean that during his first appearance in sg1 Woolsey was unlikeable. But it was very quickly shown that he is a honest and righteous man and i liked him for that.
Loved seeing everyone.. McKay (David) will always and forever be my favorite character on the show. I am so glad I still get to watch them (SGA) whenever I want, as I have the whole 5 seasons. I got super excited when I heard whispers about the SG franchise may be returning.. I really hope some of the cast will be asked back for the new show.
Thanks for this great interview with some of the cast from Atlantis. Miss these actors together they need to make a new movie. And add those that were lost and find them
SGA is my favorite show ever; I've watched it soo many times. It's so good to see these fantastic people again, made me emotional to watch this. I miss them so much. It's such a shame the show got canceled.
I sometimes could not stop laugh at the relationship of Rodney and John Sheppard. Sometimes I'll think of a scene with them arguing and start laughing. I just love them, and I want them back together.
My hubby and I rewatched SG1 and introduced our son to it. Now we're doing it with Atlantis. Miss these shows because they are still fun and funny, and there's not a lot of scifi shows that are family friendly anymore.

I am 23 years old and I kind of just stumbled on the stargate movie. Watched it, loved it, and when I found out there were 3 television series I was so hyped! Ive rewatched the entire plethera of the stargate franchise now a fn P.S. We need a new stargate series!!! I know people would absolutely love it!

Same! I have been falling asleep watching or listening to stargate since around 2009, but started watching stargate in 2004 for the first episode of atlantis.
I'm 35, I hear you, but we are not the targeted demographic for shows now, studios want to bring in young fans that they can capture for many decades. They genuinely don't care about us. They want things that appeal to people who will share it all over social media and react to it in their own videos. It makes sense from a marketing perspective, but we are not considered "young" anymore. 0-25 is probably the main market, and men who still want to be kids (action movies) 😂
The laptops they had in Atlantis were ahead of their time. They shouldn't bash them, because they were clunky but they were also the foundation for the aformentioned iPads, and also technically very impressive for their time to be that "slim" considering how fat normal laptops tended to be.
@@Ziplock9000 nah Steve jobs was interested in the tablet idea since 1968 after hearing about the DynaBook a concept by Alan kay. It’s true Apple restarted this interest in this idea around 1990’s while TNG was on but steve jobs himself disliked the bulky hardware look from the small MacBook type designs used on the show and quickly halted the project until 2003-4 when the first iPad patent was filed that looks almost identical to the iPad we got but as netbooks were all the rage at the time, so Apple waited and tweaked their design for a tablet computer until the iPad as we know it was born and during this time the only show with any sort of tablet computer design running was stargate Atlantis so I’d say it was less Star Trek and more stargate that had an impact as it was more what steve jobs himself was always interested in 😃

This was awesome just as entertaining as watching episodes of my fav Sci Fi series of all time. Their chemistry on and off set is palpable..Huge fan as a Vancouver resident I remember catching a glimpse of Rachel rehearsing her combat skills on Granville Island and months later watching her on TV was probably what initially captured my interest Stargate Atlantis and rest is history . Great people ,thank you for organizing this entertaining event.
I wish there was more Stargate stuff. I saw the film when I was real young. Then I watched as SG1, Atlantis, and Universe came out. It was real influential on me. And seeing all these videos is making me nostalgic.
How did I not know about this channel?? I just came here from a google ad. I read Stargate Reunion and clicked so fast. I've subscribed and liked and can't wait to binge!
Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis was my childhood. Everytime when I had a bad day or a rough week I dived into that universe and everything was better. So Crazy and unbelievable that I am still watching it and will show it to my son someday so that he can have this amazing experience as well.
I literally just watched it again from start to finish. I told my kids if I ever get dementia and put in a nursing home, just put a dvd or rerun of SG Atlantis on a tv and I'll be fine so they can just leave me alone after that. Best thing about that idea, the Show is always new again!
My daughter and I love love love Stargate Atlantis, we were totally unhappy when it ended. Hope Amazon bring it back and bring back the same cast and characters.

When SG1 came out, I just had my first MS-symptom (without realizing it) and final year at the university started for me - SG1 kept me sufficiently "together" (through MS and a big breakup) to successfully get a degree and even start my first full time job. Before season 3 I already started a small company, which meant spending weeks at rather undesirable places and there was SG1 my "home" and repose. SG1 kept me sane for 5 years of working too much while being in different version of "the middle of nowhere". As season 7 was wrapping up I finally got the MS diagnosis and spent the following months in a "void". Then came my most favorite of all doctors - Dr.Weir, Atlantis marked the start of a less stressful worklife for me. When SG1 wrapped up and also Dr.Weir left her post, I got married. When Atlantis with Dr.McKay was saying goodbye we started to construct a house, where we now live in with 2 kids.

I've probably seen Atlantis, fully, 4 times - I'm on my 5th watch-through as I write this! Was good to see some of the cast in this way, seeing as I grew up watching SG1 and Atlantis. Cheers for this pal, was enjoyable :)

i did not know there was a second channel for all this... i watch alot of the gate world channel. but i loved every minute of this. great work and i am so looking forward to more Stargate. Growing SG-1 was something i could always look forward to. atlantis came out and it was just nostalgic being back in that universe... i always related more to rodney... Oddly enough. maybe not the super smarts. but i was always pretty tech savvy. a loner. not a lot of friends. but was always there for the ppl around him that cared. so i truly hope that any show that comes out can be as impactful on others lives as SG-1 and Atlantis were for mine... and i hope the Actors and actress's like u said as well in your interviews. truly know how inspiring and life changing there work was in that show. Hands Down for me the 2 best shows to ever exist. i love star trek... but stargate for me will always be the best imo
I bought all of the episodes from all the series. I loved them all.
My favorite role of Mr. Picardo's is on The Orville. I'm a multi-IP-fan - Trek, Stargate, The Orville, pre-disney Star Wars, Dune, original BSG... And the SG1 Roleplaying Game.
I love that one of the cast pointed out that Lucas quote... Spance Fantasy is fun, too...
I watched SGA when it aired, and a couple years ago, I rewatched it on a binge... It is still excellent.
And this made my day... 4 months after it went up...

Stargate Atlantis is in my opinion the best thing in the whole franchise and the cast was a huge reason why. Glad I got to see you all together again.
I was a teen when i watched the original SG movie with Kurt Russel. I remember commenting to my dad at the end of the movie how it would be great to have a TV series based off the movie. OH BOY did that comment age well, and I am happy for it!
Its strange to me to hear that Robert Picardo character was unlikable and people where surprised that he became a leader. I mean that during his first appearance in sg1 Woolsey was unlikeable. But it was very quickly shown that he is a honest and righteous man and i liked him for that.
It was revealed he wasn't a bad guy but he had some moments that made him look quite weak and unfit to lead.

Loved seeing everyone.. McKay (David) will always and forever be my favorite character on the show. I am so glad I still get to watch them (SGA) whenever I want, as I have the whole 5 seasons. I got super excited when I heard whispers about the SG franchise may be returning.. I really hope some of the cast will be asked back for the new show.

I sometimes could not stop laugh at the relationship of Rodney and John Sheppard. Sometimes I'll think of a scene with them arguing and start laughing. I just love them, and I want them back together.

My hubby and I rewatched SG1 and introduced our son to it. Now we're doing it with Atlantis. Miss these shows because they are still fun and funny, and there's not a lot of scifi shows that are family friendly anymore.

Same! I have been falling asleep watching or listening to stargate since around 2009, but started watching stargate in 2004 for the first episode of atlantis.
Im 34 and I grew up watching you and Stargate SG-1 so its not all old people remembering you!
I'm 35, I hear you, but we are not the targeted demographic for shows now, studios want to bring in young fans that they can capture for many decades. They genuinely don't care about us. They want things that appeal to people who will share it all over social media and react to it in their own videos. It makes sense from a marketing perspective, but we are not considered "young" anymore. 0-25 is probably the main market, and men who still want to be kids (action movies) 😂
The laptops they had in Atlantis were ahead of their time. They shouldn't bash them, because they were clunky but they were also the foundation for the aformentioned iPads, and also technically very impressive for their time to be that "slim" considering how fat normal laptops tended to be.
@Alex Sonne actually they were not the show wrapped up 2009 first iPad was out almost 16 months after this so their comment is valid
Ambulance driver laptops look like them so it makes sense.
You would think in an environment where they can't get replacement equipment easily and are out in the field you would need a thick tablet.
Lol no. Star Trek TNG is credited to tablet computers like iPads, They even has almost the same name!
@@Ziplock9000 nah Steve jobs was interested in the tablet idea since 1968 after hearing about the DynaBook a concept by Alan kay. It’s true Apple restarted this interest in this idea around 1990’s while TNG was on but steve jobs himself disliked the bulky hardware look from the small MacBook type designs used on the show and quickly halted the project until 2003-4 when the first iPad patent was filed that looks almost identical to the iPad we got but as netbooks were all the rage at the time, so Apple waited and tweaked their design for a tablet computer until the iPad as we know it was born and during this time the only show with any sort of tablet computer design running was stargate Atlantis so I’d say it was less Star Trek and more stargate that had an impact as it was more what steve jobs himself was always interested in 😃

This was awesome just as entertaining as watching episodes of my fav Sci Fi series of all time. Their chemistry on and off set is palpable..Huge fan as a Vancouver resident I remember catching a glimpse of Rachel rehearsing her combat skills on Granville Island and months later watching her on TV was probably what initially captured my interest Stargate Atlantis and rest is history . Great people ,thank you for organizing this entertaining event.

I wish there was more Stargate stuff. I saw the film when I was real young. Then I watched as SG1, Atlantis, and Universe came out. It was real influential on me. And seeing all these videos is making me nostalgic.

Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis was my childhood. Everytime when I had a bad day or a rough week I dived into that universe and everything was better.
So Crazy and unbelievable that I am still watching it and will show it to my son someday so that he can have this amazing experience as well.
I literally just watched it again from start to finish. I told my kids if I ever get dementia and put in a nursing home, just put a dvd or rerun of SG Atlantis on a tv and I'll be fine so they can just leave me alone after that. Best thing about that idea, the Show is always new again!
A couple of my kids have watched the stargate shows with me; hopefully bringing some young fandom to Stargate!!!

This made my day on sooooooo many levels!
When SG1 came out, I just had my first MS-symptom (without realizing it) and final year at the university started for me - SG1 kept me sufficiently "together" (through MS and a big breakup) to successfully get a degree and even start my first full time job. Before season 3 I already started a small company, which meant spending weeks at rather undesirable places and there was SG1 my "home" and repose. SG1 kept me sane for 5 years of working too much while being in different version of "the middle of nowhere". As season 7 was wrapping up I finally got the MS diagnosis and spent the following months in a "void". Then came my most favorite of all doctors - Dr.Weir, Atlantis marked the start of a less stressful worklife for me. When SG1 wrapped up and also Dr.Weir left her post, I got married. When Atlantis with Dr.McKay was saying goodbye we started to construct a house, where we now live in with 2 kids.
